Comments:I can't believe I'm reading this. Just tapped in 'Major Setback' out of curiosity. I last saw Kris in the Major Setback Band at The Cartoon in Croydon in about 1984. I have a signed copy of the album 'Crashing Out'(well it seemed the thing to do at the time). Incredible gigs with the band covering tracks better than the original bands. And Kris is still about the best guitarist I've seen. If you're gigging in the South East, London/Surrey/Sussex, please let me know.

Comments:Yo D!

Er, It's been a while.

I gave up counting the years since I saw you last longer ago than I care to remember.

And I can't for the life of me remember what event, if any, set our paths heading in such different directions.

Must have been those Simon & Garfunkel covers in the Art Gallery behind the Thrift Store in Vegas. That'd surely do it.

Feels like a lifetime ago. And I'm not even sure if it's all been my lifetime. Good harmonies, though ....

I kinda feel like I've been in touch through the remaining Finn Brothers, but it's been a poor replacement for the real thing.

I'm real pleased to see and hear you out there on your own, doing what I--and clearly many others--always figured was your true calling: The Blues.

I reckon I must have been 12, possibly 13, when I first heard "Nothing Matters" down at the Nags.
And where others may claim that it was Hendrix or Mayall or John Lee Hooker who inspired them to first pickup a guitar, I can say with great pride that, for me, it was me old mate Kris.

And for that and quite a few other things, thanks. And for "Brother Ray" on '78.
I've a photo of him that's been with me for the near 20 years since he left. And, even now, after all this time, June 11th is always a day of a different color.

Well without wanting to divulge all of the sordid details of these past few 'wilderness' years on your guestbook, I'll leave it there ... for now.

Just one question, though: is that really "the emma!?"-- i.e. the hottest redhead in Bromley, Emma?

Maybe we should catch up one of these years? I'll keep a watchful eye on your blog to find out where and when you're playing next. It'd be brilliant to see (and hear) you again.

All the best to you, Ms D & the girls.

Matt

Comments:Hi Kris,

Recently saw you at The Platform Tavern in Southampton. I think I remember slurring to you that I didn't really know what to expect. What we experienced was one one of the best musical nights I've ever had. An absolute master class. Thanks for taking the time to talk to us and thanks for signing the CD's. My wife Lisa is a confirmed dance music fan but was absolutely won over. She said the music was hypnotic at times. Look forward to seeing you again soon and I'll drag some friends along this time. They're also looking forward to it and more than a little gutted about missing you this time. Finally, we're going to Plymouth in March to see Editors. I have been explaining to the younglings at work that if you imagine them in suits and a bit angrier you'd have The Godfathers. A couple of days later it's back to Southampton to see Stiff Little Fingers. Christ. it's almost like being young again!!!

Finally, Jolene kicked ASS!!!

Comments:Awesome Songs Kris!!! Two of my most favorite concerts ever were The Godfathers (St. Petersburg Jannus Landing and Tampa Bay Performing Arts Cntr, Florida USA). I've seen many concerts but these were the best. Glad to see you doing some great blues! Good luck on the CD!

Comments:Hi Kris
I love the songs on your web site. I met you a couple of times whan I lived in Chatham.
Still love the Godfathers stuff with you on. Does the name varnon hamton ring a bell with you he was in the medway band all the flash. If it does and he is still around say hi from me you were his idol. Good to see you are giging with ex dentist Bob. Bob knows me the pastor from scunthorpe and still a dentist fan. Good luck Kris with all you are doing and keep music real.
