I would transcripe and write the notes down for magic waltz if some one can mail be the 3 songs above (at least one). It's now nearly impossible to get the songbook for "the legend of 1900", but it exist. In the songbook "magic waltz" is missing. So if you're interested, and have the songbook, plz mail me.

If you still search more proper score of "Playing Love", I'll recommend this book than DOREMI's one.

http://www.rittor-music.co.jp/hp/score/piano_data/00206419.htm

But there is only "Playing Love". If you have DOREMI's one, I don't recommend you to buy it. When I play it, I add some notes. So this is not perfect but really close and easier to play.

Comments:Hi everybody,

Ah...yes, it's me again...

Just would like to report that, besides buying the socrebook, I've also ordered the soundtrack in italian version, which has more songs than the international one. And today I've got the CD in my hand. It takes approximately a week for air mail delivery.

Here is the steps I followed in order to do the ordering, documented under the soundtrack spotlight reviews of the international version in www.amazon.com:

"The Legend of 1900 Soundtrack isn't the version with the entire soundtrack on it. Some of the best pieces weren't included in the non-Italian version, which has 29 songs. It's missing (among others) "Magic Waltz" (the song he plays for his seasick friend with the waves crashing outside) and "Enduring Movement" (the piece that won the contest with Jelly Roll Morton). I can't include the URL here but do a search for "Intermezzomedia" and go to their site. Once there, you'll have to search by Composer for "Morricone", and scan through the many pages of his until you get to "La Leggenda del Pianista sull'Oceano". The company is from Italy but the site has English. If you decide to buy it, the e-commerce bank they use for purchases is all in Italian, so I'd suggest going to a site called "FreeTranslation" (again, I can't include the actual URL here) and that site does a decent job of translating the Italian phrases you enter into English. I bought from Intermezzomedia and didn't have any problems, got the CD just a few days later (using FedEx, which was a bit expensive but nice to have the tracking capabilities). I promise if you get it, you'll love it. ..."

Yes. I love it very much.

Comments:Dear All,

Just for your reference. Besides directly pruchasing the scorebook of "The Legend of 1900" from Doremi Music Publishing Co., Ltd., you can also purchase it from Amazon, Japan(http://www.amazon.co.jp). The price is the same, but the shipping fee is a little bit higher(2,600 Yen from Doremi using EMS vs 2,800 from amazon using DHL Express). However, amazon.co.jp accepts credit card payment, and the ordering operation can be done in an english environment.

I've ordered the socrebook from there, but the estimated arrival time is in November.

By the way, I've also emailed to Maya Miyazaki of Doremi Music Publishing Co., Ltd. He does very helpful. If you want to buy the scorebook from the company directly, here is the instruction quoted from his email:

I found a site thanks to vkuhn that has the score to "Magic Waltz." A person named Kurukuru owns a little shop called the "Hato Box" in Hiroshima,Japan. He/she publishes scores of "Magic Waltz" by Amedeo Tomassi. It's got to be the score from 1900 because Tomassi partnered up with Morricone in making music for the movie 1900. Unfortunately, Kuru is low on funds and is making a kind of a collection fund so he/she can raise about 4500 U.S. dollars. It would take 3 months to issue the scores after the funds are made. If you would like to help with funds e-mail Kurukuru at mahoutsukai@syd.odn.ne.jp or go to heartbox.hp.infoseek.co.jp to see the the pic of the score for yourself.

Thanks

Comments:Gotta love this site! I've been racking my brain with ideas of trying to dl "Enduring movement," no such luck on Kazaa-lite. I did however come to realize that the cd was two-fold; one made in The States and the other in Italy. Since the movie was made originally in Italian (a much longer version) it's the Italian CD version you want. This is so because it includes this site's apparently infamous "Magic Waltz" song and "Enduring Movement" as well to include 31 songs opposed to the bare-minimal US version. If you follow the given Italian URL (I've listed above) and install the language pack, you can check out the cd track listings, discography, and so on... More information on this is listed on the site: http://www.shef.ac.uk/~cm1jwb/legpiacd.htm My best bet for the sheet music for these two songs would be checking out the discography on "LA LEGGENDA DEL PIANISTA SULL'OCEANO" you'll probably find an accompanying piano arrangement. Well, I've cooked my noodle. Good luck!

I have since been given insightful info that most likely Magic Waltz (the piece played during the storm) and Enduring Movement (the piece that won the duel) are probably not publized sheet music and written for 1 piano, but 2 pianist (a two-player song).

I'm going to write to DOREMI company to check just in case to see if the sheet music is available or not. If I find out anything new, I will post it on here.

The only song that is on the audio soundtrack and not in this book is the one with people singing on it (I can't remember the title). Although the explanations of the songs (under the title) are in Japanese, everything else is easy to understand in English -- the song titles, the notation (of course). I haven't had enough time to really sit down and play it just yet, but from the little parts of some of the songs that I've played, it sounds identical to the soundtrack. Also, numbers 7 and 16, both titled "Playing Love," have different lead ins, but I think the rest of the song is the same... can't be sure just yet though, I'll get back to you about that when I find out.

The difficulty level varies from song to song, right now I'm learning "A Mozart Reincarnated," which is probably one of the easiest songs in the book, and they get as difficult as "Study for Three Hands" which actually has music for three hands (makes sense, right? :) . "Playing Love" looks like it might be too easy for you if you're looking for something challenging to play (I haven't tried it yet, but just looking at it makes me think that it would be hard to play maybe the first few times, but then it shouldn't be really hard afterward). Scott Joplin's "Peacherine Rag" is in it, which looks like it could be a bit of a challenge to play... Jelly Roll Morton's "The Crave" (my personal favorite from the movie) is also in it, and also looks somewhat intimidating. But of course, this is all relative to how good you are at playing. I've been playing for 12 years, off-and-on, and taught myself, so I'm no pro or anything, but I can play Mozart and Chopin and other pieces at that same difficulty level, just so you can judge how difficult this music would be for yourself. From what I've played, the book songs are written to identically match the soundtrack, however, I haven't played much. If this doesn't answer your questions then please don't hesitate to ask, but e-mail me at AnnabellChristi@netscape.net because I might not notice your e-mail since I get so much junk mail and tend to throw away things from addresses I don't recognize.

Comments:So happy someone finally found the sheet music for The Legend of 1900. Do you know what pieces are on it? What level is it--easy/advanced? I'm specifically looking for an adavanced version, and also looking for the "Magic Waltz" (the piece played during the storm.) Glad I found this site!

Comments:I HAVE FOUND THE SHEET MUSIC TO "LEGEND OF 1900"!!!!!! It is published out of a company called Doremi in Japan, and the e-mail address of the woman that helped me out is:

faq@doremi.co.jp

Her name is Maya Miyazaki, and she was extremely helpful. In order to buy the score, you have to send an international postal money order for 2,200 to 3,000 Japanese Yen (depending on the method of return shipment), I sent the 3,000, which translates roughly to $25, and keep in mind, this is WITH the shipping charge already added. There are also cheaper methods of shipment. They are very quick with your order as well, it took 12 days for my book to arrive after I sent the money order.

If you want to know anything about the book itself, then please feel free to e-mail me. I will not, however, send copies of the book to anyone due to copyright laws and also the fact that I don't have a scanner.
