I make the drive up as often as possible and I always hate to leave. The Rangers have always been so helpful and friendly they make a great park even better. I do wish I lived nearby, I would be there daily to do my workouts as it is always such a pleasure and each one has an element of surprise, sometimes a flock of deer, or a Bobcat wandering by silently, or the rattlers which have been good to me so far....I do stay on trail. Only had time for a hike to Century Lake, but it was a nice hike, and we caught many glimpses of deer... I plan to go back and check out the MASH site! ;) |

We had no idea of what to expect and what we found was fantastic, the place is beautiful, and the trek to the site was great, (lots of pictures.) The kiosk sounds great, however I'm not sure it's doable? Love the work your doing. P.S. I only found this website by cruising around, (google) maybe thats the reason for the lack of hits, if it wasn't for my curiosity, I would have never found you. Thanks |

Good of you to put the website together. It would be great to put a map of the trails on the web site with distances. For the MASH Kiosk, I would remind people that the visitor's center has dog tags for sale that say "I hiked to the MASH site" available for only $5. I think this will help people with closure too! Nice web site! I have a suggestion. I hiked out to the MASH site a long time ago and I remember it was quite a hike. I was thinking of going out there again and wondering how long of a walk it was. Maybe you could put that information on the site. (How long it takes to walk out there.) Probably a lot of people would benefit from knowing that. I have some stills from MASH. If you need some for your kiosk let me know. For me, it's fun to have pictures available when you're there. (The big challenge is keeping them from being ripped off!) : ) |

Thank you for putting together this wonderful site! When my wife Fayaway and I were looking for a place to settle on the west coast, our aesthetic senses, as well as an appreciation of the area's ley lines, led us to Malibu Lake, just down the road from the park. I now spend more waking hours in the park than out of it, hunting for protozoans, hiking the trails, and reconnecting with nature. Malibu Creek State Park is indeed the crown jewel of the parks in the Santa Monica Mountains. Thank you for maintaining this website, and for your work as a docent! |
