The reason FY is such a good series is because bad things happened to a lot of good people. You all just can't handle a good plot. Seriously, would FY have been as good if the Miko was given Uber Super powers? No. Because there would have been no need for the Seishi, and then you all would have had no bishounen to drool over and completely rape the characters of in what you all call fanfiction. She may not be a genius either, but she still kicks you-know-what and doesn’t need a man every waking moment of her life. So you guys wanna know what’s wrong with Miaka’s face? Okay, I’ll tell you. She has way too puffy cheeks (from overeating) and her mouth is tiny when it’s closed but huge when it’s open (not just for eating, for screaming WHY?! And TAMAHOMEEE!). Plus her eyes are always wide open with hyperness. In short, she looks (and acts) like a LITTLE KID. THAT is one of the reasons we hate her; she’s just too immature to have all the bishies fall for her. And rape her. Now, who was it that said nobody tries to rape Miaka? Oh, yeah. An ignorant person. Nakago had the full intention of defiling her (and he actually admitted he wasn’t attracted to a little girl like her!! YES!!), and so did Tomo. Amiboshi may not have had that intention, but they were still naked in bed. Suboshi threatened to make her pay with her body. Hotohori got her into a bed in the beginning, too. When they first met Tasuki, he was going to do the same to “teach the bandit leader a lesson.” The bandit leader also tried to rape her (but I’m not saying he’s a bishie). Plus she almost did it with Tama a few times. So you call that pure? Wow. Just… wow. And that whole thing about courage. I’ll admit that it’s implied that Miaka-baka has “courage” and “perseverance,” but the courage to do what?? She never actually DOES anything but summon Suzaku (and she failed the first time and almost got everyone killed). And yes, she did steal Usagi’s moves (“I’ll punish you!” *points*). These flamers obviously haven’t seen the anime or don’t have the brain capacity to remember what happens in it. Okay. So those are the baka’s only qualities, besides an abnormally high metabolism and being “pure of heart,” which we already know isn’t true and is impossible for any human. But of course, Miaka’s barely a human. And you say we’re “insecure” because we hate an inferior life form. *corny superhero-style chuckle* Plus you admitted that you rule hell, so jst give up the preachy savior act and NEVER SET FOOT HERE AGAIN. | Comments: | *sighs* Confused Miaka Fans Looking for Legit Reasons to Hate Miaka Yuki. Read this, please. Miaka is hated for significant reasons as well as more trivial ones. The major reasons are that Miaka's character is poorly developed. This is not Ms. Watase's intention, but I'm sure she can see a difference in the development of her art and story lines. A hero or heroine is someone with a strong heart, good judgement and has something that others can see and admire. I I mean that the readers can admire, not the other characters in the damn book. Miaka's character is underdeveloped because her personality can flip from serious to ditzy in the drop of a hat. I do understand that people's attitudes change given the situation, but that can be distinguished in different ways, much like Watase did in Ceres. Miaka does it in a bipolar kinda way. Also she is not very capable of much of anything. I'm not saying she needs to be Xena, but she isn't capable of knowing her limits, and her judgment is horrible. The most disgusting trait for a hero to have is self pity, Everyone has their flaws, but when you're burdened with as many responsibilities as the Preistess of Suzaku you've got to think before you decide to drown yourself in a lake.(Hotohori doesn't ditch his responsibilities for Miaka, he makes sure that the first thing he takes care of is his country. Once it's in good hands he attends to other things. Furthermore, her judgement seems to hurt the other characters in the book, such as Yui. Yui had always carried Miaka, bailed her out of trouble, and stuck with her, so ignoring her for a guy you've just recently met is not cool. Many teen readers have gone through it also, so I'm surprised that so many can support Miaka and hate Yui. Yui was the one betrayed, she was hurt. Her sadistic and scary ways of showing it are another story. Miaka has the ability to do a lot of great things, and yes I do agree that she is pure of heart. I also understand that not everyone has the best judgement, but it's kind of hard to like a character who acts more clueless than anything else. It's akward that this entire series was held together by nothing other that luck. I think Nakago was a little too much villain for Suzaku to take on. By the way, it's understandable to want more sufficiant and well thought out reasons to dislike Miaka. But it's ridiculous to make personal remarks at people you don't know and then go on to say you aren't shallow. Just because some people don't agree with you doesn't give you the right to talk poorly about people's lifestyles, personalities, and friends. However you were probably just angry at the time, so it's cool. Take a chill pill, relax, not everyone that hates Miaka is a slobbering idiot.:) One of my best friends adores Miaka.
