not changes my mind on the issue- It just made me realize that when she made that stupid mistake to take 2 lives in '84- she took her life away. Texas didn't. She did. Who was she to take a life- by turning her life over she brought herself sympathy and along with it, the media. If you take a innocent life- you should have your taken away also. |

| Speak Out:: I'm a little late signing this guestbook since it's been
nine months since Karla Faye Tucker was executed. But since I just stumbled on this web site I want to add my two cents. I have been in law enforcement for over four years and I am definately for the death penalty, when the person being executed is the one who committed the crime beyond a shadow of a doubt. I don't even disagree with the execution of Karla Faye Tucker. The thing about the execution that really gets to me is the comments of Gov Bush when he denied Karla a stay of execution. I believe that Gov Bush was way out of his league when he decided to make comments as to why he denied her stay. He should have just said he won't do it. Instead he had to make the comments about praying and getting the answer. Although the bible states an eye for an eye, it also says to ask and you will be forgiven. Anyone who even attends church or knows anything about religion would know that if Gov Bush would have prayed for advice, he would not have executed Tucker. God forgives. Instead I guess Gov Bush wanted to play god himself and prove to himself that he has the power to take a life. The worst part of everything is that the people of Texas just reelected him. It's really sad to see the quality of or leaders. |

| Speak Out:: I have watched this all from the distance of Australia, and
I stand totally amazed at the american culture of killing in all its forms and pray to God that my country does not imitate its trends. Yes we do have the same serious crimes here and that is troubling, but I do not witness such hardness of heart and abundance of religious self righteousness as I have seen written and expressed in these guestbook pages. Also I am absolutely sickened to see the bible taken so completely out of context to suit peoples' twisted minds. Everybody seems to wildly quote" an eye for an eye etc" from the Old Testament, not realising that there were 42 sins in the O.T. that required death, including murder. Of course none of us have ever committed some of the others eg. blasphemy, drunkenness, cursing parents, adultery, stubbornness and rebellion, backbiting etc. If you want to annihilate a life for murder then you need to start killing people for all these other offences as well. The bible says that you are to fulfill ALL of the law if you want to satisfy God and have true justice. There is only ONE person who has fulfilled all of the law and satisfied God and taken the full punishment of death, and that is Jesus. He goes on to say in the New Testament that grace, mercy and forgiveness is extended to ALL. We have no right to judge another person for anything because if you have committed any of the sins named you also deserve death, but by Grace you can and will be forgiven by Jesus if you acknowledge your sin and ask for forgiveness. This includes sins committed in the body as well as in the mind and heart. NO ONE is beyond the grace of God and if you have a God of vengeance or hatred or self righteousness then you DO NOT have the God of the bible. Jesus Christ died for the victims, the murderers and those who can't even see their own sin. He is the God of LIFE not death. I feel for the victims and their families and pray that they find the peace of forgiveness and I thank God that HE had mercy on Karla Faye Tucker Brown. She is redeemed, forgiven and answering only to God. We will all see her again one day soon. May you all come to the mercy and grace of an Awesome God. |

reprehensible murders that she committed is unjustifiable, someone like that can not be redeemed by God or Jesus. I know that Karla Faye Tucker is in purgatory paying for her crimes. What she did can not be undone! I am disgusted that you people would promote a killer,......... |

| Speak Out:: Since Karla Tucker was executed, it made me more of a proponent of the Death Penalty. All too many times, "conversion" is an act, to get attention. People forget about the victims of these monsters who do the crimes. Tucker deserved death, and got off lucky by being executed by injection. Her victims died horrible deaths, and Tucker was just put to sleep. Dogs and cats are lovingly put to sleep by injection, monsters like Tucker do not deserve any type of mercy. I wish they would do away with lethal injection and bring back the gas chamber or hanging. Let there be some suffering for the criminal. Would then be more of a deterent!
Another point, Tucker is NOT in heaven, but will be punished by God for her crimes. She will pay for what she did to two innocent lives. This Christ has said would happen. |

crime. She deserved what she received. Why is it that people find GOD when there in trouble? If she did not get caught, who's to say she would not have done it again. I think the state of Texas is lucky they caught up to her when they did. And another thing, I don't see what the big fuss is about. She killed two innocent people. If you ask me, she got off way to easy. |

| Speak Out:: I am vehemently opposed to the death penatly and always
have been. What was done to determine the fate of Karla Faye made me sick. Her execution did not rectify anything-- it just brought out the animals in front of the prison waiting for their type of justice. Some of the signs that were held in front of the TV cameras were as barbaric as what went on inside the death chamber. How Mr. Thornton could cheer Karla's death is beyond me. If my facts serve me correctly his loving wife was having an affair behind his back and unfortunately for her was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Nothing can justify what Karla did to those two people but I truly believe that she was a changed person. No one said that she should be let out into the streets of America, but at a very minimum her life should have been spared. Karla's true spirit was bright right up until the end--I don't believe that I could have maintained the dignity that she did in facing her death. May she rest in peace forever and may her family find some type of comfort from this travesty. |

| Speak Out:: I was not able to finish what I wanted to say in this
website when I was on it earlier. I have been following this case from almost the beginning of it, and read almost everything that there is to read on this case. I could also be able to forgive Mrs. Brown for what she has done in her past, because the Lord says for us to forgive our debtors as we forgive the one who sins against us. I am also a victim of having a family member murdered. My first husband was murdered by a young person who had the lifestyle of doing drugs and everything else there was to do at this time. I was able to forgive him, and I was also glad to find out that this young man is now talking to other young people about the things that God can do for you as well as how you can change your life with the help of Jesus. I know that if my life had been different and I hadn't been able to forgive the young man then I wouldn't have the closeness with my God that I have with him today. I am also blesserd to know that I also have a constant reminder of my husband for i was able to have a child by him before he died, and I would not have been able to be a good mother to my child if I hadn't been able to forgive the trespasses of this young man who was able to help himself by helping other young people. |

I send prayers and well wishes to the family and friends of the victims. I am also enlightened by the transformation Karla achieved. Salvation lies within. Karla Faye Tucker is one spirit that chose to come to earth and assume human form I will never forget. To all of you whose lives crossed paths with the three murdered human beings (Jerry, Deborah, and Karla), and to those of you who chose to visit this site, I bid you all peace, harmony with the universe, and love. Is it possible for all of us spirits having human experiences to put aside our guns, knives, narcotics, and anger for ONE day and see if we cannot get along peacefully? |

| Speak Out:: When Karla Faye Tucker committed murder, she was a vile, execrable, horrible, depraved person. In prison, she was completely transformed into a saint. She had all the earmarks of the fruit of the spirit; love, joy, peace,
patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Gal. 5:22. This is a miracle only God could perform. Her sins were buried in the deepest ocean, never to be brought up again. At the time of her crime, she was the worst; at the time she was executed, she was the best. When the time for execution came, there was no vile criminal to be executed; they could only execute a saint. Executing her was the moral equivalent of executing Mother Teresa. It was the moral equivalent of executing Saint Paul after he had been transformed from his early depraved life and had written much of the New Testament. It was the moral equivalent of executing Christ; Heb. 6:9: ...."on their own they are crucifiying the Son of God and are holding him up to contempt." Some will reply that Christ was sinless; yes, but Karla was as close to sinless at humans get at the time of her death. She was purer, more sanctified, more in the image of God that the vast majority of us are. She was purer and more saintly than us, than her captors, than Gov. Bush, his family and his children. Perhaps he can perceive the horror of this execution by imagining the execution of his wife, his children, himself; at the time of her death, they - and us - were more deserving of execution than Karla. She was completely transformed from the worst to the best; why can the world not see this, after many years of proof? Christ represents mercy, compassion, forgiveness and glory for those who have repented and been transformed; the world cannot see this; it is stuck on revenge, stuck on the law. She was superior to all of us, and nothing proved this more than the grace with which she accepted her execution. If she did not deserve to be pardoned, or at least have her sentence commuted, than nobody has ever deserved it. There is no greater correction, or rehabilitation, or transformation; black was turned to white, pure evil was transformed to pure saintliness. They "crucified the Son of God again, and are holding Him up to contempt." Let us pray that her death will have allowed at least some to see the reality; God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise: God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong. She was - is - so far superior to those who put her to death; even today, she is saying, "Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing." Luke 23:24. God help us for being so blind that we cannot even see the miracle that takes place before our very eyes. |

| Speak Out:: I have read the "dreambooks/guestbooks." I, too, regret the
taking of one single human life. But I must ask everyone, are we not a society of laws? The most basic is "an eye for an eye." Here, in the United States, we afford for every appeal, before the punishment. However her life may have changed, the facts of her crimes cannot be changed. The punishment was swift, and just. Those with only revenge in their hearts would have demanded a like death. She had a relatively comfortable life.....and her death was peaceful. Unlike those whose lives she took. Justice was served. God help us all. Let us hope that someone, somewhere, learns from her punishment that actions do have consequences. |

| Speak Out:: Who created one of the ten commandments. "Thou shalt not
kill". This is the same way as the execution by the state is treated as a MURDER on human beings. I am a born again christian and have faith in Lord Jesus Christ, our creator. You, members of the board, executor, prison wardens, people in public and the like will be judged before the eyes of God and you will face a terrible consquences in HELL, unless you repented of your sins and received Jesus as your saviour. Be baptised in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Karla was born again christian and have shed her old life and change her course of her life towards Christ. John 5:24 states that. "Most assuredly I say to you, "he who hears my word and believes in Him who sent me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment. "but has passed from death to life". NKJV. Which means Karla Faye Tucker did not face the judgment before the eyes of God. She went straight thru the gates of Heaven. Romans 3:10 states that "There is no one who always does what is right." Which means ALL OF YOU have fallen short the glory of God and also it means you have SINS in your heart regardless how good you are. Karla. I know myself I will see you one day in Heaven and hope to chat with you. This is the God's word Amen Any comments regarding Christianity and the Bible. | Speak Out:: An an evangelical Christian, I should not be surprised that
there are those who quote "an eye for an eye" as support for capital punishment. However, the New Testament offers a plan for redemption and Karla Faye Tucker accepted that offer of total forgiveness and new life in Christ. To deny the powerful change in this beautiful woman is to be blind to the miraculous power of God! I do not have to understand why God allowed her to face execution; I only know that He allowed the very best for Karla--the promise of living eternally in His presence--and somehow will use this experience we have all gone through for His glory. As for me, the vision of Karla walking straight and tall in the prison yard will stay with me the rest of my life, and I too walk straighter and taller because I, like Karla, am a daughter of the King of Kings--not because either of us deserves it, but because that relationship is offered to us as a free gift. The debt of sin has already been paid! Richard Thornton, that free gift is for you, too! |

| Speak Out:: Having recently become the family member of a murder
victim, I must say that the strong comments from some of the people in this guest book are obviously made without experience of the horror of having someone you love brutally murdered. I too had very strong feelings about what should and should not happen, until it happened to me. Unfortunately, the death penalty is one of those issues that Christians can get down on their knees over, and come up with different answers. I believe that there are some people who really do change through God, and would not be a continuing harm to society, and we know that some don't. The problem with deciding who will and who won't is that it is imposible to predict the behavior of someone confined in a structured, closed environment. They don't have the temptations that we who live on he outside do. For those of you who have battered the state of Texas on these pages, you need to know that Texas has had horrible experiences with predicting who and who is not rehabilitated. Look up the Kenneth Allen McDuff case. Our governor made the correct decision in this case, based on the law of this state. I guess people will always argue over this issue, I just will go on knowing that God is in control, and that through prayer I must seek His will. |

| Speak Out:: I am very much opposed to the death penalty. It is plain
and simple: If we kill a criminal, we are stooping down to their level. Is that what we want? To be killers as well? There are many death row inmates who have no remorse and would rather be dead. Do we want to fulfill their dreams? I certainly hope not! Take the Susan Smith case a couple of years ago. I'm not sure whether or not their state (I think it's North Carolina) has the death penalty, but I remember what the judge told her during the sentencing. He gave her an extremely long sentence, and now she has to live with the guilt the rest of her life. She will not be executed, but that guilt is torture enough! WOW! I think that is more painful than killing the criminal! If we had more life-sentences and fewer executions, we may see more and more prisoners turning to God for forgiveness and becoming born-again Christians - it gives them time to get through that guilt and open their hearts to God. It's certainly a shame that the parole board in Texas has no heart. Open your eyes! |

| Speak Out:: Both my husband & I are very concerned over the execution
of Karla Faye. It was pure revenge by the people of the state of Texas (supposedly in the Bible belt), Gov George Bush and certainly by the pardons & parole board. It's our understanding they never ever meet before making life and death decisions. It was so obvious to the world that Karla was a changed person from the one who comitted the horrible crime. She was a born again Christian and we believe for that they executed her. To commute her sentence to life with no possibility of parole would have made it possible for her to continue to touch lives through her wonderful ministry. For some reason (revenge???)the state of Texas wouldn't allow this to happen. We wrote two letters to the Governor and all received was two identical mass sendouts stating the Governor's hands were tied and he couldn't do anything. We don't accept that, sorry. He didn't want to do anything. Should he ever decide to run for President, he'll never get our vote...for he stood by and watched as a beautiful, loving Christian was murdered in revenge by the state. How shameful that our nation just keeps plumetting lower and lower. If you have addresses to continue petitioning the State of Texas to change their system and give the Governor the opportunity to exercise Mercy in those cases that merit it, please e-mail them to us. Our prayers are for Dana and the family. We pray God will richly bless them and fill them with peace and the joy of the Lord (which is outside of any circumstances). We know Karla is PRAISING AND LOVING THE LORD...AND CERTAINLY THE LORD IS LOVING HER. We can picture her dancing using her sign language to worship Him as she did here. This gentle life, after years in prison and her death, caused no one to think twice before they killed! Could it be the lack sanctity our society puts on human life. These last set of executions that have been appealed to by the Pope and various countries shows how mean-spirited" America has become. I see the death Penalty now as a Political manuever for votes (death for the sake of the opinion poles),and I know there are innocents on death row! There has to be our judicial system is not perfect. I never thought I would write such an e-mail as this...but "Man" since the times of the Roman Gladiators has enjoyed a good kill, and I hope that is not the path of our society as we approach the new millenium..I am not really religous..but in the bible it says Judge not...I believe in compassion, forgiveness and the hope for a better world..Killing these lost souls is not the answer.I would think living every day with the guilt is far worse than death. I know with Karla and the other recent executions, I have felt mercy within me, not anger or revenge, and for that I am proud. I hope Karla's family is doing well, and her smile will lite up the halls of heaven, of that I am sure. |

| Speak Out:: Why is it that Karla gets the death penalty,
even though her crime was not premeditated, not to mention the fact that she was incapacitated due to a drug binge, and people like Diane Zamora and her boyfriend escape the death penalty? Their crime was indeed premeditated and cold blooded and they knew exactly what they were doing. That's even worse than Karla's crime. Is it because Karla's history of drug use and prostition caused the jury to feel she was "disposable" and not worthy of anything less than death? But since Zamora and her boyfriend came from a good background and were looked at as "good kids" they are spared. Is this fair? Do we base the death penalty on the crime or the person's character? This seems like an incredibly prejudice system |

"Kenny", thank you for your input on our case. You are right about not allowing someone to remain on Death Row for years and years. Sentences should be carried out within a specified time period when all Appeals have been exhausted. I do want you to note that none of the attorneys involved with this site referred to "hero" in relation to Ms. Brown. That was merely the title of the midi on the site. Although, had you had the opportunity to have actually met Karla, you might have felt differently. Being a killer is not heroic by any means, but admittitance and change is very much the way I would describe a hero. Again, we thank you for your interest and comments to the site. We welcome you back any time. Best to you. |

| Speak Out:: You still must hold up to the law this country has passed.
The death penalty is legal, given to the criminals of society that commit the most heinous crimes. Which is what Karla did. I'm glad she straightened up before being killed, but it will never change what she did. I don't think this is a "wake up" call to change the law, just to do it sooner. It is pure torture to keep someone locked up for 15 years knowing they are going to die. Also, we must stop sympathizing with the criminals and more with the victims. I'm sorry, but Karla was no "hero". |

| Speak Out:: I do agree she got what punishment that she earned. I also
am so elated for her that she found God before being put to death. I believe that the world would be so much more productive and a lot less combative if we all would find religion in our lives. I know Karla is in heaven now, and the results of her life now are of no concern to her. I only wish she had found the Lord before committing these savage acts, for three people would still be with us. God bless you all!! |

| Speak Out:: As an American living in Europe for over 30 years, and since there is no country in the EC with the death penalty, it shocks me to see the insensibility of my fellow Americans.
True, she killed 2 people brutally. 2000 years ago there was also a brutal killing, but He forgave those who killed Him. Shouldn't we also learn to forgive? What was accomplished with Karla Tucker's execution? Revenge? With the Death Penalty has crime been reduced? I don't think so! I hope the United States starts to look at Europe and follow its example. |

the earth. The ones like Ted Bundy, The Manson Family, ANY
CHILD MOLESTER, etc... But for Karla, I think it was wrong. Even if she had been left in Prison for life, I think she had some good to do. I'm not a bleeding heart, I just think that people can change. Not often, but sometimes they can. I am so sorry for the victims and their families. For them, I think she should have been left in prison, but not executed. |

They lost somebody real close to them, and she is gone forever. The problem with this state is the way people are executed. They have a needle stuck in their arm, as if they are drawing blood. If we truly wanted to execute people, the proper way to do it is to take them outside, bound their hands behind the back, throw a rope up a tree, ask them if they have anything they would like to say, and then pull the rope. Again, I feel sorry for the family. |

| Speak Out:: Karla Faye Tucker died the victim of the greatest state
sanctioned mass murder spree in the modern, western, democratic, civilised world. She was not an innocent victim but she did not deserve to die at the hands of the state. The death penalty is wrong, absolutely and unequivocally. May the souls of all the murdered (by the state or by human hands) rest in peace and in the name of God, may this nation cease the premeditated killing of it's citizenry. |

| Speak Out:: I live in Texas and am not a Christian. Still, Karla's life
and death has greatly affected me. Her struggle is sweeping in scope and crosses all human boundaries. She was phenomenal! She is my hero. My hero the redeemed pickaxe killer. I have interacted with many Texans about Karla. I am sad to say that most Texans eagerly supported her execution. We Texans are a bloodthirsty bunch. Personally, I am deeply ashamed that my state murder Karla. o To those who say she was sentence to death and she must pay the price. Vengence is not a rational reason for executing anyone. That would like it society-sanctioned murder. Indeed, there is no rational reason for execution. Life in prison without parole is a perfectly adequate alternative: that is, removing a violent person from society. Sadly, there is no such penalty in Texas. Juries would rather execute than to risk a parole board letting a potental killer free. o To those who say her crimes were so brutal that she must die. Yes, Karla's crimes were brutal but I believe that the Karla who committed those crimes no longer existed and was not present at the execution. I truly believe that Karla Tucker was rehabilitated (an often forgotten word). She was only asking that her sentence be commuted to life in prison, not that she be released. o To those who say she should not be specially treated because she's a woman and a born-again Christian. In general, I agree with this. Still, I think a person's history of behavior while on death row is very relevant to whether they should receive clemency. The Texas Parole and Clemency Board specifically ignored this history (they're united in their bloodthirstyness). In Karla's case, her record showed more than a decade of kind and caring service to her fellow inmates on death row (her only contact with the prison population), remorse for her crimes, compassion for the families of her victims, and a commitment to being a good person. To me, it is abundantly clear that Karla Tucker had turned her life around and was no longer a threat to society. More so, I believe she had a lot to give society. Executing Karla was a huge waste. I am a Texan and I am ashamed that we killed Karla. I will always remember her. |

| Speak Out:: RESPONSE TO SKYDIVE1:
First of all oh bright one, my name has nothing to do with guns at all. Those are objects of your world not mine. I breed and train horses to become future race winners. I am a trainer and am 45 years old. That is where Colt45 originates from. Secondly I never said your views were wrong because you are entitled to your own opinion. I simply stated that your views appear to be somewhat distorted. Now I understand your hatred. The loss of your brother must have been very hard for you, but my friend, taking another life in exchange will not bring him back. I will give you this, I too get sick of criminals yelling out "I have found Jesus and changed". But, think about this with an open mind for a few minutes. How rare is it that we actually see someone make a complete change almost immediately in our prison systems. Most of them do not. I don't know how much you know about Karla but she went to the Lord and asked for forgiveness late in 1983. She remained very strong and active in her faith until her death. There was NO time that she faltered in her faith in any way. I truly believe she had made a change. One victim's own brother believed it enough to rally for her life to be spared. No one tried to excuse Karla and Karla never asked to be released. She asked to be allowed to live so that she could continue her ministries with others. God was Karla's creator and only God had the right to forgive her and/or take her life. Just like no one had the right to cut short the life of your brother. Turn your anger into positive. Start a campaign for gun control or help to get guns out of the hands of America's youth. Take action and you will help your brother more that way than any other. Best of luck to you. Final note, the Law Office that sponsors this site must be a great group of people because they have not deleted our messages which have nothing to do with the topic. Lets not push the issue. I am glad they put an open forum and have allowed all opinions. Thanks and think about what I said honestly. For the record, my daughter was murdered in New Orleans and never once did I wish her killers got death. So, I do understand your pain in losing someone. Like your brother, Ashley was a law abiding college student who had everything going for her. Her life ended brutally at age 21. I now have the Ashley Codova Campaign for Campus Safety. |

As for you, you talk about hoping that god will bless me and my views are wrong. But you carry a e-mail address that represents a gun!!!! You will have to forgive me for not feeling sorry for anyone who takes a life. They should be executed...My 25 year old brother was killed last year by someone with a gun. My brother was not a criminal. He was an honest law abinding person. I can only hope that the person who killed him gets the Virginia death chair. Im sure that if he does get the death chair he will suddenly find god and become a saved person. Dont they all?????????? |
