<br>hard but thru my Savior Jesus Christ I would make it thru.
<br>I would also "FORGIVE". The bible says we have to forgive
<br>to be forgiven.If we don't forgive then we can't be
<br>forgiven. We don't understand why we go thru things in our
<br>life. And sometimes it takes something bad for us to
<br>realize that JESUS IS REAL He actually saved her soul from
<br>hell.If you don't have Jesus in your life then Satan has
<br>control over you & sends people into your life to get you
<br>in trouble. Just like the Sean Sellers case. He was into
<br>Satanism when he was young. He murdered 3 people. 2 of
<br>which was his mother & stepfather. He found Jesus as his
<br>Lord & Savior in Prison. He was also executed last year.So
<br>what Satan thought was good , God always turns around for
<br>his glory. And to the person saying Karla was faking her
<br>smile. Honey! When you get Jesus there's no faking about
<br>it. And she had Jesus in her life & was sincere. You don't
<br>fake that.God does something to you that is undescribable &
<br>it is AWESOME.So I pray that everybody comes to know him as
<br>their LOrd & Savior. Eternity is forever folks. Where do

<br>has become a poorer place without Karla Faye Tucker.
<br>Instead of appreciating her regrets and the tremendous
<br>changes in her personality and human development, instead
<br>of trying to make use of the experience of people like
<br>Karla to help rehabilitate others who made similar mistakes
<br>in their lives, instead of doing that, the state of Texas,
<br>a state from a country claiming to be the most christian
<br>continent in the world, took the life of a person who was
<br>probably one of the least probable persons to ever pose a
<br>threat to society again.
<br>I live in Holland, a country where a multiple killer, even
<br>an unrepentent one, would already have been released after
<br>so long a period of incarceration. But apparently that was
<br>still not enough to satisfy peoples need for revenge.
<br>Punishment is appropriate if something wrong has been done;
<br>but punishment does not mean destruction. It means putting
<br>someone in a situation where he or she starts to realize
<br>that a law has been broken, a law in which all of us take
<br>part and the violation of which affects all of us. It must
<br>be done with the honest intention of rehabilitation. If we
<br>don't, if we choose the path of revenge, what right do we
<br>have to claim to the Islamic and Jewish and other worlds,
<br>that our religion is better than theirs?
<br>I am sad that two people had to die because of a senseless
<br>crime fifteen years ago, but I am also sad that a another
<br>valuable human being, who in her later years has showed the
<br>utmost human maturity and the best in whatever
<br>rehabilitation program can ever hope for, has been brutally
<br>taken away from this world. America considers herself to
<br>posses the right to dominate world politics because of her
<br>outstanding human, democratic and religious values, but in
<br>the case of Karla Faye Tucker, none of those values have
<br>been demonstrated by the state of Texas.
<br>I mourn the death of Karla Faye Tucker as if she was one of
<br>my own family.</td>

<br>world, if no christian wishes to do away with revenge, we
<br>better take down all the crosses from our homes and
<br>churches and burn every copy of the New Testament in the
<br>world, because in that case we won't be worth the paper on
<br>which Christ's message was written.

<br>remember Karla Faye in her white convict garb, encircled by
<br>the prison fence, drinking in the January sunlight.
<br>Whenever depression tries to take me over, as it has so
<br>often in the past, I remember that Karla learned how to be
<br>content in whatever state she was in. I see her lovely,
<br>serene smile, hear her gentle voice. Then I feel shame for
<br>allowing life's petty pressures to get me down. My goal is
<br>to be more like her: to attain the inner peace that she
<br>achieved in her final hours of this-earth life.
<br>--I stand amazed at how Our Great God can take a heinous ax-
<br>murder and work the situation to ultimate good. Oddly
<br>enough, though her life was brief, Karla lived out her God-
<br>given destiny by being able to witness to millions, due to
<br>the circumstances that ultimately led to her execution.
<br>Consider, for instance, my agnostic net pal who resides in
<br>Canada and who was on the verge of dying from some ungodly
<br>affliction when I discovered him last year. He was
<br>introduced to Karla Fay via television sound blurbs, yet
<br>she captured his attention and somehow touched his heart,
<br>as she similarly affected untold millions of unknown others
<br>throughout the world. We will never comprehend, until we
<br>get to Gloryland ourselves, the magnitude of good that her
<br>testimony accomplished.
<br>--I personally think that she could have done many more
<br>mighty things for God had she been pardoned and allowed to
<br>live. Nevertheless, since the state chose to snuff out her
<br>body's breath, it's imperative that she not be forgotten.

Are we still living in the wild west? We must oppose the death penalty because we must not imitate the brutality we deplore. When my sense of righteous indignation rises up (an eye for an eye,etc) I remember that if Deborah Thornton's own brother could forgive Karla Faye and become a kind of extended family member of hers, then who am I to be indignant.My opinion on punishment for murder is that a person who takes anothers life should be punished for as long as their victims remain dead. Do I agree with the death penalty-yes. Do I think the world is a better place becaise Karls Faye is no longer in it- NO.When Christ was executed by the state there were 2 criminals crucified with him.One criminal mocked and cursed Christ,the other begged for forgiveness and blessings and Christ told that man that he would be with him in paradise. Christ did not tell the man he would let him down from the cross and allow him to keep his life. And so it was for Karla Faye.May she rest in peace.<br></td>

<br>would argue that she was not responsible for her actions
<br>because she was on drugs at the time of the crime, and had
<br>been since she was seven or eight years old. I would
<br>contend, people must be responsible for their actions
<br>regardless of their condition at the time. I believe Karla
<br>would have agreed with this as well.

<br>Some convicts claim a "religious experience" to save their
<br>lives or reduce their sentences. The term "religious
<br>experience" is generally used by people that do not
<br>understand what it is. What Karla experienced was not just
<br>some "religious experience," it was God's grace and mercy
<br>bestowed upon her. This is given to all who accept Jesus as
<br>Lord and Savior. Unfortunately, this is beyond
<br>understanding for some people.
<br>
<br>Consider this:
<br> John Doe dies and goes before God.
<br>
<br> God says, "You never had mercy for Karla."
<br>
<br> "Look at what she did!" John Doe replies, "She didn't
<br>deserve mercy."
<br>
<br> God retorts, "Though you didn't deserve mercy, I sent
<br>Jesus to pay the price for your sin. All you needed to do
<br>was accept Him."
<br>
<br>Zechariah 7:9 states, "This is what the LORD Almighty says:
<br>'Administer true justice; show mercy and compassion to one
<br>another.'"
<br>
<br>What is the purpose of capital punishment? Is it revenge,
<br>or is it to rid society of dangerous people? If revenge,
<br>what type of society will we have if everyone is seeking
<br>vengeance? If to purge our society of dangerous people,
<br>how was Karla dangerous? Anyone who saw her on TV, hear her
<br>on radio, or read the many documents about her, including
<br>those she wrote, must conclude there was an obvious change
<br>in her life. That change was the acceptance of Jesus
<br>Christ!
<br>
<br>She was not trying to obtain a stay of execution to save her
<br>life; she wanted a stay of execution so she could continue
<br>to help others. Make no mistake--Karla was not afraid of
<br>dying; she knew where she would spend eternity.

<br>they are having an affair with. I believe that Karla had
<br>more peace in dying than some people who would never commit
<br>crime that would lead them to prison. There's ten - "Thou
<br>shalt Not's." I'm sure that in one way or another every
<br>one has broken at least one of those commandments. It
<br>bothers me that we are so quick to judge. Someone made a
<br>comment in an earlier opinion that Karla had committed the
<br>WORST sin. I'm sorry to reveal to you that you are WRONG.
<br>There is a sin that is not forgivable and it is not murder.
<br>It is a sin that goes unpunished on earth, yet is
<br>unforgettable in heaven. What? Blasphemy of the Holy
<br>Ghost. I believe with all of my heart that Karla Tucker
<br>Brown was born again. Yet to become born again, she had to
<br>be convicted of the Holy Spirit to know her sins and her
<br>need to repent. By doubting that the Spirit played this
<br>role in her life, you are stepping into the waters that will
<br>lead you to blasphemy. Be careful!
<br>Thank you for this memorial - I am so pleased that someone
<br>was thoughtful enough to remember a hero of mine. She
<br>taught me how to be committed to Christ with unfailing love

<br>surrounding Karla Tucker; but, I do believe that there is a
<br>good example of mismatched compassion. The tragedy of Karla
<br>Tucker is not how she died- she broke the law and then died
<br>by it- the tragedy is how she lived. There is a comment by a
<br>reader in a previous column- 'Not one of us can promise that
<br>we'll never commit murder'. That is misled. I can make and
<br>live by that promise without reservation, and I believe any
<br>other reasonable person could as well. As citizens, we have
<br>made a covenant with our fellow human beings, and Karla
<br>Tucker broke that covenant.
<br> This is not a religious argument, nor should it be.
<br>This is an example of a terrorist who ripped a hole in the
<br>fabric of our society. She is now no longer part of that
<br>society. Murder is forever, and no death row conversion will
<br>change that.
<br> I am not in a position to believe or to doubt her
<br>professed religious beliefs. That is an issue between Tucker
<br>and God, the same God whose two children she murdered. The
<br>fact remains, regardless of any opinion on Capital
<br>Punishment, there is one less pickaxe murderer walking the
<br>earth today then there was when Tucker was alive, and that
<br>fact speaks for itself.

It seems to me like you don't. You are accepting the fact that Karla murdered two people. You say, "She washigh, she didn't have any control." Well, if she was doing drugs, and couldn't control herself, then that explins killing two people. She didn't have to take the drugs. She didn't have to not be in control. Is taking drugs illegal according to God??-Yes, it is, but it explains why she killed-NOT. You have mercy for a women who you know nothing about besides what you read in the paper, and what you see on television. Did you ever meet Karla, did you have a personal relationship with her?? I can guarantee that you didn't know anything about her own personal life. She has so called "changed", but you have ne proof. Maybe the Karla we saw on television in the past few weeks was a fake-did you ever think about that? Maybe she was putting on the act to try and win the hearts of the Officials who were trying to decide to give, or take her life. Think about the victim's families. How would you feel if a relative of yours was brutally murderd?? I think that you would think twice befor just forgiving a women like Karla-a drug addict, a prostitute, and a killer--which al lthree things go against the Lord, Jesus Christ. Am I wrong???--No.<br></td>

<br>Savior Jesus Christ. His love in you was so apparent and I
<br>am deeply grieved by you death. I feel as though a dear
<br>friend died on Tuesday, February 3, 1998...in fact one
<br>did. The Body of Christ grieves it's loss but rejoices in
<br>your homegoing. We grieve with you over the hate, anger,
<br>and revenge in the hearts of Richard Thornton and those who
<br>celebrated your death. We know that unforgiveness is a
<br>cancer that will destroy all those who harbor it as well as
<br>the other lives they touch. May they know the peace that
<br>only forgiveness can provide.
<br>As we speak of the Bible's instruction "an eye for an eye",
<br>we so soon neglect the teaching of Jesus that everyone who
<br>is angry with his brother is guilty before God as the one
<br>who commits murder. Which one of us then is not guilty.
<br>That's hard to understand. "God's ways are not our ways
<br>nor His thoughts our thoughts...The foolishness of God is
<br>wiser than the wisdom of man."

I wonder how many of those same people refuse to eat pork, and refuse to work on Saturdays? That's ALSO in the Old Testament! They can't pick and choose!

<br>And if they believe in Jesus (an executed criminal who was killed for committing a capital crime under Jewish and Roman law), they should know He said this:

<br>"You hath heard it has been said, 'An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. BUT I SAY UNTO YOU that you resist NOT evil..if a man strikes you on one cheek, turn to him the other one also." How come these pro-DP types remember the Old Testament quote but FORGET (ever so conveniently) how JESUS CHANGED IT? If they dont like what Jesus said, they'd better all convert to Orthodox Judaism and stick with the Old Testament ONLY!

They may think their sins are not as bad, but isn't that what the Pharisee thought when he prayed to God in thanks that God had not made him like the tax collector (publican)? The publican (hated tax collector) HUMBLED himself; the self-righteous Pharisee did NOT. Jesus said the publican went home justified and NOT the Pharisee who thought he was so perfect!
