I'll reread what we last did and think on it while biking from school. You are Mega-spontaneous and always come up with snappy dialog! Meesa, on the other hand, needs to ponder a bit before writing. I think I'd love to write a fantasy novel, but the reality of it all is that I think too much. I could probably never get past the introductory chapter! J

Nobel blinked and a worried look came upon his face. "Ummmm, I don't recall right now, but it had a lot of writing and a picture of HIM!" he said pointing at Travin. Nobel quickly withdrew his arm as if he realized pointing at Travin was not a very good idea.

IC - Nobel had arrived and although still standing behind Kristina, his young ears could not be mistaken...he had heard the name Evander. "You-all know Evander? The bloke gave me five silver pieces to hang up "paper with words" all over the village!" Nobel failed to mention that he couldn't read. "Seemed a decent bloke." He added now not sure if he'd said the right thing and mentally preparing himself if he needed to reverse his allegiances.

Comments:OOC - Yay, my 1st "love" scene ever!
IC - April, oblivious to anyone watching, gave in completely to the wave of emotion that swept across her soul. She relaxed tearfully happy into Travin's well muscled chest. Such was her contentment, she was unaware of the gentle kiss Travin had bestowed upon her head. April had shielded her angst since his departure and now that he was back, all was right with her world. Reality bit into her dream-state when she heard Nobel's raucous voice asking anyone who would answer "Who's HE? That her boyfriend?" She relaxed her embrace with another sigh. Had she had a gun, she might have shot Nobel in the leg. She stole one yearning glance into Travin's beautiful eyes before releasing his broad shoulders.

Comments: Travin took her hand and pulled her into him, embracing her like he never wanted to let her go. For one singular moment in time there was nothing, there was no war between Collinwood and Evil, there was no magic, no world- only that embrace, the feeling of her perfectly fit into his arms. Gently he kissed her head, so softly she probably didn't even notice, and he vowed to himself no harm would ever come to her.

Comments:OOC - Not corny at all!
IC - April had only days ago turned seventeen. The trauma of these past few weeks had only intensified her longing to be MORE to Travin than a "little girl." Now he was back, and she heard HIM calling her name - not as one calls a child, but with a soft husky voice, a voice that left her breathless and trembling. April half closed her eyes as she turned and as she refocused, there was Travin - large and strikingly handsome before her. "Travin!" she released with a big sigh.

Comments:Running out of not corny things! AH! Save me!

"April," the word was whispered from his lips on the wind, carried to her ears so softly. Alien to him, it almost sounded foreign on his tongue, but the girl was the same. The little girl he'd rescued only two weeks ago so changed by her life here she was now almost as mature as Alexis, should Alexis qualify as being mature. She stood a small distance away, her back turned, walking quietly from the siblings. Travin slowly let go of Alexis and stepped toward her, saying once more, "April."

Comments:OOC - Well done! Yeah, I'm pretty sure she's gone.

IC - April was amazed with the speed Alexis had shown crossing the clearing to the edge of the forest! As she approached the siblings embracing, she thought better of possibly intruding on this private moment. She turned on her heel back towards the porch. The residual rush of adrenaline left her face flushed and her mind was a flurry of thoughts. "What was she thinking anyway? Would Travin have even noticed her there anyway?" She widened her eyes to arrest the tears that began welling at the question she asked herself. She took a pained breath and sighed.

Comments:YAY! ^_^ Now let's see if I can pull this off. Merrique is gone, right?

He walked slowly, cautiously out of the forest, fully human, looking awkward. Walking felt odd. Alexis bolted down the stairs and ran at him, throwing herself into his arms. He held her, awkwardly, and gently.

"Alexis," he whispered, the word feeling alien on his tongue.

"Don't you ever do that again, you fucking moron!" she cried, sobbing into his chest. "Travin, I was so worried about you."

"I'm home now. It'll be fine."

Kristina and Nobel were left in their wake - Kristina because she was out of shape and Nobel because he feared for his life. "Wolf or man, wolf or man - what IS this Travin?" he thought fearfully to himself. He was staying behind Kristina!

Alexis ran outside. Had she heard what she thought she'd heard? Looking around her, she listened. There! Again, she heard her brother's call. She raced back inside of the house to the kitchen.

"Travin is coming home!" she cried excitedly to April and Kristina before rushing back out of the room, those two closely following her.

Comments:OOC - Let's see if I can get a few posts in this break!
IC - April cocked her head to one side as if listening to a faint sound.

"April, what do you hear?" asked her Mom, noticing April's facial expression.

April's eye's knit in concentration and she waved an opened palm at Kristina as if to say "shhhh!" Her face brightened. "It's Travin, Mom, I heard his voice! Do you think the wolf is gone?!"

A slice of orange dropped out of Nobel's open mouth bouncing on to the tines of his fork. His plate clattered abruptly. "Wolf?" he panted. "Let's not go looking for no wolves! Gone? Oh, yeah, that's the way I like wolves - gone!" Nobel grinned as if he'd just said something really funny or at least quite worthwhile.

April could not disguise her disgust as she looked back at the boy with raised eyebrows. "Mom, let's get some food ready for them just incase I'm right."

Kristina nodded and headed out for the chicken house for some eggs.

As April got the stove hot again, an arm shot around her waist. She felt her stomach "drop" as she realized that Nobel was now making a "pass" at her, continuing his most inappropriate behavior. Indignation swelled like in a storm in her, but she swallowed and instead lithely twisted out of his grasp. As if it hadn't happened, she addressed him. "Nobel if you want to help, you can clear the table and get out some clean plates and cups."

Like an obedient child, Nobel responded. If he harbored any lingering desires, it was not apparent from his face. He set about to comply to April's request in his clumsy manner.

As the plates clunked on the table, April sighed and wondered what had stayed her rage. Was it the fleeting thought that it would be "better" to have this boy on her side? She sighed again.
Frozen in time, April heard her own words - "Do you think the wolf is gone?"
"I don't want the wolf to be gone and I don't want Travin to be gone either! I love both of him!" She almost said aloud.

Kristina set the basket of eggs on the counter and mused at her daughter's far off gaze.

Comments:Hey! That was so good! It's great to be writing again, but i understand the whole busy college deal! I think I'm a going to hurry this up- maybe so we could write a really picturesque holiday/christmas part or something while we think of a new villain. So Travin will be joining in...

Travin was on his cliff with her. A woman and a wolf. She smiled at him with her full lips. "Travin, I know you're in there. I know you don't trust me and that you're staying in there to better protect your sister and her friend. But everyone needs to come out Travin."

"There are things," she continued, "things that you need to know. Someone is coming to Collinwood and they want to destroy it. Because of me. All because of me. And they will hurt your sister. She needs her brother now." She turned away from him.

"Ch-Chancer?" Travin coughed. He hadn't spoken in over two weeks. It was almost like learning to breathe again. As his fur disappeared he stood, still tall and thin, like he'd always been. But his eyes seemed older. "What have you done?"

"Oh, God, Travin," she was crying. "I made a mistake. I was lonely and I made him so I'd never be lonely again. But Travin, it was wrong! He- Oh I didn't think he'd follow me here. I just didn't think."

"Stop it! I don't think I can take you crying. You've put my sister, April and her mother all in danger! I need to go to them."

"Travin, wait!" Chancer called to him. "Before you go answer me this: What does that girl mean to you?"

His brain searched widly for the answer, but found only one, and he'd be damned if he was going to tell her that. She knew by his eyes, though, that it was love. He ran in front of her with all the speed he had, calling to Alexis on the way.

Comments:OOC - No, not dead, just trying for good grades and totally neglecting LCWH - so sorry! I had to read a bit to see where we were! I forgot how well you write!!! Let's get Travin back and bring on Evander shall we?!
IC - Nobel awoke in a cold sweat. He had seen white forms floating near April in the night or had he been dreaming? In any case, he was not nearly so anxious to "get to know" April as he had been a few hours earlier. This would have comforted Kristina had she known his thoughts! It was Kristina who was there to beckon the boy to breakfast as he tumbled to the floor with a thud having gotten tangled it his blankets.

April smiled at the two as they entered the kitchen. "Mom, I can't find Alexis anywhere and without Travin, I really think all of us should stay put including him." She said nodding toward Nobel. "What do you think?"

"Yes, I think you're right, something is going on again, you could see it in Alexis' face."
"Gee Mom, you're starting to pay attention!" April thought but didn't voice!

The goddess stood over April's sleeping body. All white and lit by her inner light, she smiled to herself. Another goddess was soon standing beside her. This goddess was clothed in green, her skin tanned and her hair long and braided, brown like the earth. Her glowing green eyes surveyed the girl's sleeping body.

"This is the child?" she asked. The Goddess of the Moon nodded in response, looking at the tiny smile on April's face. Goddess of Earth looked skeptically at her.

"I feel the magic force, and the heart behind it. Strength, yes, but who knows if she can face the future?" mused the immortal woman.

"I believe in her. Shall we continue our maticulous little chess game with our mortal friends?" The Goddess of the Moon smiled.

Nodding, the two of them disappeared.

The last lamp went dark as if to answer Nobel's question.
Kristina had already fallen asleep.
April opened her mind to any voices that might be hidden in the darkness. When she sensed no one, she smiled to herself at Nobel's fear and closed her eyes.
Nobel lay awake for hours before he at last succumbed to the insistence of slumber.
April dreamed. She dreamed of Collinwood Hall long past. She fidgeted in her sleep. She felt small, very small. Suddenly she was awoken by a scream. She opened her eyes and listened intently. The room was silent. She knew at once that the scream had been in her dream. Moments later, she was sleeping.

The village awoke the next morning with a blood curdling scream. As people rushed from their homes, Evander watched from the hotel porch. His scene set so perfectly...

The girl was strung up by a streetlamp, naked, and brutally mutilated. Her stomach was ripped open, oozing grusome porrige-ish guts, and blood. He'd had to leave a little blood for effect, but mostly he consumed all of it. A note on the stone streets written in blood read "Collinwood". He smiled. His cue was coming up.

sneering at the stranger, Alexis, in her bad mood, turned away from him and went to sleep on her couch.

She stood in the meadow, walking toward the woods. And then there was Gabriel. She ran to him and threw her arms around his neck. He wrapped her in his long cloak and took a deep breath, smelling her hair. "Alexis."

"Gabriel, Gabriel, since you and Merrique and Travin left it's been such a mess!" she cried. "I can't do anything right. And a new evil, so quickly, and strangers coming and going... I-I don't know what to do!"

"Shh, shh," he laughed. "Don't worry, Alexis. You're doing better than fine. You're doing splendidly, so strong and brave." He tipped her chin up so he could look into her eyes. "You're doing wonderfully. Positivly wonderful."

She was on a cliff. The wind was blowing, her hair tumbled around her face. "No! Gabriel? Somebody?"

"Alexis?"

She whipped around. "Travin? Travin is that you?"

"Alexis, I'm so lost..."

"Travin, Travin!" she shouted. "Travin, I'm here, brother, I'm here!"

"I miss the sound of your voice," Travin's voice whispered on the wind. "Alexis I'm so lost."

"I'm here, brother. I'll guide you home, please come home to us," she said.

"I love you Alex."

"I love you, too, Travin."

Alexis glared darkly at him from under her white and violet eyebrows. "My name is Alexis Collins. Do not forget it again. This isn't some cheerful slumber party. I feel it would be unwise to let you out of my sight, especially when I don't know or trust you. Not to mention if the power did go out- and sometimes it does, even our backup generator- I think Kristina and April would feel better if they weren't alone in a sometimes haunted mansion."

Comments:   Kristina was glad for the chance to opt out of the room. She thought it was a dangerous idea to invite this teen who was a total stranger to sleep in the same room with three girls. And too, he obviously was interested in her daughter! But she didn't want to second guess Alexis' judgement. If she stayed any longer, she would think or say something that betrayed her thoughts. "Sure, I'll see what I can scrounge up. It'll be about fifteen minutes." she answered Alexis.

April heard every word her Mom was thinking and knew Alex would too. She now regretted having been so free with her smiles.

Nobel was both relieved that he would not be put out into the storm and frightened of the prospect of spending the night inside of Collinwood Hall. He felt suddenly safer having been endeared by Alexis as a "friend" but totally missed the sarcasm in her voice. "Yes! That sounds like a really good idea - what's your name again?

"There are safety in numbers. I think maybe it is best if we all sleep in the library tonight. The fire would be here if the power went out, and it would in general be safer. Kristina, please, if a small dinner could be set up in here, April and I- along with this new little friend of ours- can go and fetch the blankets."

The thunder rumbled across the sky and the white lightening cracked it into peices. Alexis paused for a moment, her face softening into an expression of worry. Travin was out there, in that mess, dead or hurt for all she knew. Her big brother.

IC -    Nobel Gaston had spent all morning getting up the nerve to come here and the better part of the afternoon hiking. As he lay concealed at the forest's edge, he felt a wave of excitement in his chest. Somehow, he was certain that the girl he had been spying on had just spotted him. He couldn't believe his own nerve as he stood up waving and smiling at her. Ohhh, the feeling enveloped him now - she had smiled back!!
Suddenly another girl with long purple hair came screaming into the garden. Nobel could see the urgency on her pale white face but he could not make out the words. April glanced up at him, they locked eyes for a second, and then she turned and followed her shapely friendly.
ROBBED! That's how he felt! She had smiled back!! He couldn't leave now could he? Nobel's euphoria diminished even more when he realized evening was falling and he was far from home and worse - at Collinwood Hall!

Didn't I have guy named Noble on Cape Silver? I like the way it sounds. No - ble. Cool word.

Some more things, this is late Wednesday evening.

The sky was darkening with an oncoming thunderstorm as she sped along on her way home. As soon as she pulled in front of the house Alexis was screaming for Kristina and April. She found April in the garden, doing more work for her mother while Kristina cooked dinner.

"Come on," she called. "We need to have an urgent meeting! Trouble is coming!"

The only place close enough for the wolves to retreat from the oncoming storm was the cave. Safe, dry, warm. Chancer changed back into human form and began to build a fire. Travin's mind swarmed with images.

My Lady...

HELP ME!..

He's dead...

He's not in there...

Travin come home...

No one can save him now....

APRIL! The Girl, get the girl...

Chancer saw the look in his eyes. Memory, she understood, was a painful thing. He was remembering.

"My father, Travin," she whispered to the bloodwolf, "Was Quinten Silver." She smiled sadly. "I.. I was Lady Meg's daughter. The cause of the big fire that ruined this place oh so long ago. I think you'll understand. I need to tell someone my story. I've kept it so bottled up- But I know you'll relate.

"My parents. They were so young, lively. I know they loved me. But in following the Collinwood tradition they died young, like so many parents. Like your parents, like my gandparents. I was sixteen. And so stupid. Cursed as a child I never grew older than fifteen. I blamed Collinwood Hall, I blamed everyone. Really no one could've stopped it. You think it's so hard being a wolf-man. Duel personalities. I'm three. The Vampire, The Wolf and the Girl. But I lived with it, I'm still living with what I did to my parents.

"While I traveled back into time- too far, actually- to stop the villagers I'd practically sent to destroy my home, my parents were fighting them. Quinten was struck down by the typical silver bullet. Silver is deadly to our kind." She paused, wiping her tears of grief. "My mother was killed in the fire. I didn't return until after they were dead. And it was my fault they were killed. After we rebuilt the place I left. I didn't want to return.

"I'm back now because I'm running from something. Hopefully he won't find me here. Of course, if he does it may mean trouble. I know if something happened to Alexis you'd regret it too, Travin, for an awfully long time. Don't forget who you love." She looked at him for a long while before she curled up into a dark, dusty, damp corner away from the fire and slept. Travin just watched the fire.

Comments:Okay, that wasn't the fast forward I had in mind, exactly. I was thinking maybe putting Collinwood in some danger before Travin's return? Because he returns for other reasons, not just April. He comes back to protect the castle, too. But that's okay because I can just fill in the spots. I wanted to introduce Evander, maybe rile up some villagers. So I'll start on Wednesday, two days before April's birthday.

Alexis hated shopping in the village. People whispered about her, thinking she couldn't hear them. They knew where she was from. How could they not? That hair, those eyes. Those ears. How could people hate so blindly what they do not know? She glared at the nervous cashier as she took her bag of groceries and left the store. Before she could jump into her old, beat-up volkswagon bug, her ears picked up on something that she didn't want to hear.

The young man standing on the podium wasn't very tall, and he wasn't very old. Twenty, at the most. His hair was so blond it was almost white, his skin just as pale, and his eyes a vibrant green. He was angry, waving his wide-palmed hands and shouting to a gathered crowd.

"The Collinses must be stopped!" He cried. "Think of everything they've done to you poor people. Getting you mixed up in wizardry, spells and witchcraft! They are evil, I tell you! And the most evil of all is residing there as we speak. Ages ago there was a daughter Collins, Chancer, and she was the 'caretaker' of the house. The thing is, all these years later she is still alive! She must be over a hundred years old and she looks no older than fifteen. She is not only a wolf, but a vampire as well! Do you want vampires roaming the woods, stalking your children!"

"NO!" cried the angered villagers.

"My friends, it was her who placed the curse of immortality on me. It is she who will die, and I soon after. Help me, help me take my vengance!"

One woman called out, "If you're a vampire, how do we know we can trust you! What if you feast on us, instead!"

The man was good at acting. He made his face so pitifully sad that Alexis almost fell for his act. "My friends, I only feast on rabbits, and little animals. I am so weak my body could not sustain anything stronger, such as the robust blood of a human. The only human-eater around here is at Collinwood Hall. Please, Please help me."

The crowd cheered like mad. Finally, an end to the castle they so hated. And a leader who could do it! Alexis cursed, jumped into her bug and sped away.

Evander hid his chuckles until he had stepped down from the podium. They'd fallen for every word of it. Stupid people. So very easy to manipulate. He'd sensed the faerie's presence. The attack would come, if all went well, Sunday. Because the people would think of it as a holy cleansing.

He was getting hungry and he needed to feed. He hadn't fed in a few hours and he knew his power was weakening. The power to appear human to the simple people. He chuckled under his breath.

"Excuse me," a breathy female voice said interrupting his corrupt thoughts. "I was wondering, sir, if you'd care to have dinner with me."

One of the villagers, he noted. A young girl, maybe nineteen? Yes, she would do nicely. "I think I'd very much like to have you for dinner."

Comments:   Nobel Gaston was 17 and bored - a potentially dangerous combination in a village as slow and remote as Collinwood. Fortunately for his family and neighbors, the prone-to-pranks youth was miles from the village this Summer day - in fact, he was lost in heavy woods. Sweat poured from his brow and made his rag of a shirt cling to his chest and back as he labored through the underbrush. Ah! A trail! With great relief, the small-for-his age teen sighed as he loped along hoping to run into some landmark that would indicate the way home. It came minutes later, but the landmark brought terror to his heart! Nobel threw himself to the ground at the edge of the wood and tried to control his heavy breathing. From his hidden vantage point his eyes took in with fear what he knew must be Collinwood Hall - the subject of terrible tales and legends! And then he saw her! He was surely seeing an angel! Sleek, blonde, and tanned, with a face like he had NEVER seen in his village, 16 year old April Logan made Nobel's jaw drop. April was gathering brush in the garden as her Mother and Alexis sat on a nearby bench out of Nobel's view. Maybe all those stories were just hogwash?! Here was a beautiful - no, heavenly girl and - Nobel didn't complete his thought! Almost flipping his body in the opposite direction, he scrambled into a sprint down the trail. Nobel had seen something that had countered all his fanciful thoughts of going to meet this princess - two large wolves had just emerged from the corner of the garden and were headed towards the woods. He needed no prompting to run!

A week later, after almost constantly day dreaming of the girl in the garden, Nobel built up the nerve to return to the edge of the Collinwood Hall forest.

It had been a week since Travin's departure and April felt a hollow in her heart. She would be 17 at the end of the week and so wanted Travin to be there, but then she remembered that if Travin was even still alive, he was inside of a wolf and was perhaps lost to her forever. As she strolled through the garden, absent-mindedly she looked out towards the forest. Suddenly, she felt watched! As if to answer her suspicions, a boy stood up at the wood's edge and smiled at her as broadly as he waved.

Alexis told Kristina whatever she wanted to do was fine. The garden would probably keep getting battered but repairing it would be fine. She gladly took her drink and thanked Kristina whole-heartedly. She appologized for being so tense, but Chancer got on her nerves.

"She's a really distant Cousin from us," Alex said. She smiled at April. "I've forgotten how we're even really related. All I know is she's trouble. Not to mention a threat to us because she's technically the rightful owner. But Travin was named caretaker at birth, legally. Still, it rarely stops blood."

Hey- fast forward through the rest of the day till evening?

"That should satisfy her!" she thought as she slumped into the shade the pile provided. Her thoughts travelled to Alex's words in the library. "April, Kristina, this is our cousin Chancer." April pursed her lips. "Cousin?" she repeated. "So maybe SHE used to live here with Travin and Alex? No, Travin's never mentioned her. Hmmm, no, she looks too young to have lived here BEFORE Travin and Alex - yeah, no way. I wonder how old she IS?" April pondered.

Comments:   Kristina had turned around and walked quickly back to the kitchen.

Her Mom's retreat towards the kitchen confused April along with the fact that she was slightly irritated that Chancer had chosen to ignore her question. As her eyes followed her Mom's quick steps, April saw her wolf leaving her for Chancer. Her cheeks reddened when she realized she was feeling jealousy. And what was the deal? Alex and Chancer were both talking to this wolf as if it COULD understand - as if Travin WAS still in there! But Gabriel had plainly said Travin wasn't in there! She was confused. Now she began dragging debris on to the spot her Mother had picked out. Then she spotted her Mom coming out of the kitchen laden with a tray.

Kristina had not left because of Chancer, but because she had seen the perspiration on Alex's brow. "I thought you could do with a little refreshment!" she said cheerily to Alex as she laid the tray on the bench where Chancer had just been sitting. "I also brought a damp washcloth in case you wanted to freshen up!" Kristina had now unrolled her sketch on the bench hoping Alex might ask her about it.

"Want to play?" she teased. "Come come, little wolf."

"Oh go and play you stupid beast!" Alex grumbled from somewhere amidst piles of weeds. He snarled and followed Chancer's lead.

She gave wide berth to Chancer and instead headed for Alexis who was weeding herbs nearby. Kristina could barely contain the excitement she felt about her sketches.

April meanwhile responded to Chancer's greeting with mixed emotion. "Good morning to you." she mimicked politely. "Little one? ummm, did you mean me or my friend here?!"

Comments: Travin cocked his head with slight interest. The woman was planning a garden. His Garden. Well, sort of. If he were still around playing owner to this house. Enthusiasm suits her well, he decided.

"Does that wolf ALWAYS have to be with you?"

If he'd have had eyebrows he'd've cocked one. He looked at her with smiling eyes as April led him out the door.

The air was cool, crisp and delicious. She lifted her curls to allow some of it to touch her neck. The stone bench that she was sitting on in the garden was charming, with cherubs as the legs. Alexis was nearby, doing something rediculous like weeding her herb garden. Chancer's pouty lips curled into a smile. Herbs. Alexis's poor attempt at spells.

Really Chancer was just being obnoxious.

April and Travin walked into the garden, walled in, not expecting to find her. She smiled at them.

"Good morning, little one," she said.

Kristina waited at the kitchen table for April to come downstairs. As she waited she sketched one of the gardens and marked from memory the location of trees, schrubs, and flowers. Next, she indicated the bloom colors and the month of blooming. Garden planning was Kristina's forte' and there were few gardens with such beauty and potential as the ones at Collinwood Hall! Blast practice and the Trock-controlled villagers had done considerable damage to the gardens, but nothing she couldn't handle. Kristina hoped that Alexis would be excited with her ideas and that she could get started soon!
April hopped down the last few stairs and came briskly into the kitchen. It sure felt good to be healthy again! Merrique's cure had left her feeling better than ever!
Shadowing April's steps was the wolf.
"K Mom, what'd you need my help doin..WHOA! What's that, a treasure map?!"
No, it's the garden right outside of this door and THESE are the dead plants (she pointed to the x's on the sketch) that you're going to pull out - roots and all - and put in a pile HERE (she pointed to another spot on the sketch.)
"Oh, joy, joy, happy, happy!" April said mock-cheerfully.
And HERE are you gloves! Let's see what you can get done before lunch since you're VERY rested?! And does that wolf have to ALWAYS be with you April?
Sorry, Mom, what can I say, he's good company!

"I know what you want, Cousin," she whispered into her mirror. "I know what you need."

Really he didn't want to go to lunch. He was full. Yet, he could at least stay beside her while she ate. His mind was wandering. The Spirit of Collinwood had told him that he needed to chose, that he knew the choice. He needed to become one- both man and wolf. But how? How, when he so clearly saw the line between the two. When the wolf needed to hunt, Travin needed to... What did Travin need?

"I'll say, you seemed to have slept right through that woodpecker's rampage! It sure woke ME up! Come on down after you get dressed. I need you to help me with some things before lunch. said April's Mom as she exited the room out of the main door.
"Oh! You ARE still there!" she said speaking softly to the Wolf who was curled up on the carpet out of sight on the other side of her bed. "I'm sure Mom would have had a hissy fit if she'd seen you, so if you like it up here, maybe we can find you a more Mom-proof place to sleep! I'm gonna go get dressed now. Maybe you wanna come get some lunch too huh?" April spoke as she headed for the adjoining bathroom.

She was intruding on his territory. But where was he to defend it? He was stuck in some lame wolf body pretending to be a housepet.

"You were meant to run," Chancer whispered to him. She turned to look him in the eye. "Meant to hunt this land, meant to rule over this little kingdom of yours. Me- it seems destiny had something else in mind, or it'd be my children in this spot, not my little sister'. You are a regal animal, though. I bet you are an exciting human." She knelt to look into the wolve's bright blue eyes, so much like her mother's had been. It was then that she allowed herself to change.

It came slow at first, then swift, her body changing as she'd so often allowed it to. Her fur was long and luxurious, soft, and black. Her eyes were yellow and her incisors sharper, like they were when she was hunting. And she felt delicious. She was a wolf.

The other wolf looked at her with smiling eyes. He'd known, always, what she was. More than a vampire. She was a wolf as well. They tipped back their heads together and howled, long and sweet.

And he knew he would soon return to Collinwood. But not quite yet...

IC - April slept more soundly than she had in days, partly because she was still injured, but mostly because she felt so secure with the wolf beside her. As she slept, she dreamed that she was sitting in the library with the wolf. The wolf began talking in some nonsensical language to one of the bookcases and the bookcase talked back! Then the bookcase vanished and she was looking into what seemed to be a mirror image of the library, but she couldn't see HERSELF with the wolf - instead it was Chancer! She awoke in a cold sweat and stumbled to the bathroom to discover that the wolf was gone! What a weird dream! She would ask Alex what she thought about it - if she could still remember it in the morning. She fell back to sleep wondering about her dream and wondering if there was anyway she could communicate with Travin if he was really within the wolf.

Chancer lurked outside of the mannor. She was hungry, starving, and until she fed on something she couldn't go inside. The humans were too tempting. And her silly Cousin Travin. He was a panick. Having everyone convinced he was imprisoned. Well, she was going to make it her mission to free him. Stealthily she crept into her father's forest, something Travin had probably marked as his own.

"Oh, Papa," Chancer whispered, looking into the sky with blurred eyes. "I miss you so."

IC - Kristina went from uncomfortable to extremely embarrassed and almost tripped on the wolf leaving the room. She had forgotten how common mind-reading was here at Collinwood Hall! She would avoid this woman until she could get Alexis to help her shield her mind - if that was possible!
April knew better than to open her thoughts, but now had no problem disliking this newcomer. "Alex, would it be alright if I took the wolf to the kitchen and fed him some of that chicken we had last night?" At Alex's nod, April turned to Chancer and bade her goodbye. "Nice meeting you!" she lied convincingly.
In the kitchen she found her Mother cleaning counters that were already clean. "Mom, it's OK! You couldn't have known she was telepathic, but you'll need to be careful what you think about her from now on! She DID look like a china-doll!"
"It was humiliating actually, I don't want to see her again."
"I don't know if that'll be possible, but maybe we can practice you up on mind-shielding."
Kristina blushed again. "I am just transparent aren't I?"
"Yep, but we'll work on it!"
Kristina now noticed the wolf which slipped between April and the wall as if he wanted to be wedged close to her. "April, I thought we told you that you weren't to approach that wolf without Alexis being present?"
"S'OK Mom, Alex told me I could feed him! We had a ton of that chicken left last night! See?" she said as she pulled a large chicken leg from the refrigerator and set it on the floor.
The wolf immediately advanced and snatched it off the floor and then moved to the far end of the kitchen where he began to strip the bone of it's meat.
"Please don't do that again unless Alexis is here! You don't know how a wild animal is going to react!"
April rolled her eyes, shook her head, and sighed.
"You're not all better yet are you?" her Mother asked suspiciously. "Your wolf can take care of himself - you get back upstairs and get back in bed - now!"
"K'Mom" April sighed as she trudged towards the stairs.
Kristina followed, made sure April was in bed, and then entered her own room, closing the adjoining door.
April heard the slightest creak of her door. "Hey pup! Whatcha doing up here?! Come on around this side of the bed if you don't want my Mom to see you!"
The wolf clearly understood and laid down on the small oval rug on the far side of April's bed.
April reached down and scratched the wolf's ears. "We'll see if I can find you a place to sleep tomorrow!" she said as she gave him one last rub and rolled over to sleep. She smiled as he answered with a soft whine. "Yeah, Travin's in there somewhere!" she thought to herself.

April burst into the room, Kristina not far behind. Chancer turned to smile at them. April couldn't shake a very bad feeling. Something about Chancer made her skin crawl. Travin, sensing her fear, silently walked to her and nudged her hand with his nose. She got down on one knee and slowly stroked his crimson fur.

"April, Kristina, this is our cousin Chancer. We didn't know she'd be arriving," Alexis told them. She looked like she had a bad taste in her mouth.

"Pleased to meet you," Chancer said politely. "Well it seems there is someone this wolf likes after all."

"We came down to see if there was anything you needed, Alexis." Kristina didn't like Chancer. She... she looked too flawless. Her skin was like porcelin, no blemish or marks except for a sprinkle of pale freckles across her nose.

"A gift from my mother," said Chancer.

Hey, April, make a little bed for Travin outside of her door with a blanket, unless of course you want him in April's room... but that might not be appropriate. Okay? Make April talk to him as well. And Kristina, send April to bed! Your daughter is still unwell isn't she (not much just a little). So send her off to bed! (Travin follows?)

Alexis and Travin/wolf were in the library when Chancer returned. Travin snarled a little.

"It seems my brother doesn't like you very much," said Alex.

"And why should he? Wolves are very territorial creatures and I'm intruding uninvited into his territory. But I'm just a relative looking for a little family time. I don't have any other family but you," she replied sincerely.

But still - I guess it needs to be a villager, but obviously not mess up your angle - maybe I could play the assistant to the bad guy?
IC- April HAD noticed that Alexis was leading the wolf towards the mansion. He had looked at her, hadn't he? She was also quite aware of the stranger on horseback and Alex's body language told her that the guest might not be a welcome one. Well, she would TRY to reserve being judgemental. "Mom, there's company out front!" April announced through her Mom's heavy oak door.
"I saw!" returned her Mother's voice through the door. I'll be out in a minute. Let's go down and see if we can help Alexis!

"You know, Chancer? The other remaining Collins on the planet? I believe you often refer to me as that other relative with more claim here than you, and you'd be right," Chancer said. "Still, I'm not here to take Collinwood from you. I'm here to visit for a little while."

Travin didn't like her. She looked no older than April, yet she had a certain age about her. She smiled and he understood what Alexis so clearly was not getting. Legally, Chancer had no claim to Collinwood because she should legally be dead.

Well, Cousin Travin, it seems that you have figured out my secret. But there's something else you haven't figured out- I'm also a wolf. Chancer laughed.

A Vampire! In HIS HOUSE! But there wasn't really anything he could do about it. He didn't think he could change back, nor would he want to. Chancer was talking again, this time outloud.

"I'll take him 'round to the stables myself. No offense, he just doesn't like strangers."

"Neither do we."

Alexis beckoned to the wolf and went inside. Finally, thought Travin. I'm getting inside. He looked up with his bright wolfen eyes and saw April in the window. He tried to plead with her with his eyes, tell her he needed her to be his friend, but he didn't seem to get a response. He padded softly inside behind his sister.

OOC- What I'm thinking the jealousy thing, Chancer will be the only one to bring Travin back to the real world. You know, cause she's a lady wolf. And that will p-ss April off really badly. You know? But all the while it's really April bringing him back because he's liking her, although he likes how Chancer understands. The bad guy in this plot is a villager, campaigning to be rid of the mansion and all it stands for. Secretly he's something, not a wizard, maybe a vamp who Chancer has ticked off coming in for vengence but the villagers don't know this.

Comments:OOC - "MEG-A" COOL! I was going to wait until October, but I suddenly hear her 16th birthday calling! April's birthday is NEXT week! Imagine that! Actually, she should have flipped years when I did last October, but I forgot to mention it. So we could either have this be a year later and have this be her 17th or just stick with her 16th - I'm fine either with either scenario. And yes, April DEFINITELY has a crush on Travin, so jealousy will be no problem!

IC - The days zoomed by and April frequently saw "her wolf" (as she thought of him) roaming the estate, but she had been told by all three adults that she was not to approach him. She imagined Travin to be bottled up inside it's spirit and empathized deeply with his soulful evening howls as she watched him through her open window. She yearned for Travin's return as a human! Travin was not too many years her senior and after all, her birthday was next week! But such dreams of romance were dashed by reality. Travin was not to be found and she could not hear him telepathically within the wolf, and so it seemed as though she might never connect with him again.

"Honey, you should be getting to bed. What are you doing over there?" April's Mother said as she joined April at the window.
"Just listening to the night, Mom." April replied distantly.
Kristina could see what looked like two glowing coals out on the grounds and sighed. "April, it's not him!"
"I know Mom, but I can't help but feel Travin is connected to that wolf in some way. But don't worry, I haven't gone anywhere near him.
"He frightens me!"
"That's because you don't know him the way I do Mom. I've been writing to him for a long time. He's a wonderful soul and he makes me feel safer than I've ever felt with anyone!
"It's NOT him April!"
"I can't explain what I'm sensing, but we can talk about it later Mom. Come on, let's go to bed. I love you Mom! " April said. With a last glance into the wolf's fiery eyes, she turned to retire for the night.

Comments:Hey! Great, thanks! You did a good one, there. I'm only on to post because of homework and this plotline, these characters are becoming addictive, so I'll email you soon with all the answers to everything. What I can say, and I probably shouldn't post this, is losing someone is hard. You will feel it for a long time, it may not heal, and it will probably hurt. As Gabriel has said before. One day, though, hopefully, it may not hurt so bad and you will go on. Trust me honey. I'm psychic. I know.

I'm going to go ahead and post a week later. For this plotline, April (who I thought had a crush on Travin) may eventually need to get a little jealous. Okay? Just because This involves a bit of love... Still, she's not too young, is she? ::shrug:: 15 and 20-ish isn't too bad.

Here we go:

He prowled around the front of the house. He had his orders. Protect that girl! A week since the full moon and they still had not admitted him inside. House is not appropriate for wild animals. The girl was inside. How was he to protect someone he could not see? When she did come outside though, she was not allowed near him. After all, he was a "wild animal". A wolf was still a wolf. Her eyes showed hurt and sadness hung in a thick veil around her when she looked at him. Same with the Fairy. The Elf- the elf was disappointed in him and the Mother, well who knows what the Mother thinks. He felt almost human looking at them. You are human, something told him. You are human, you're name is Travin and you're a wolf. That was only his own inner voice, though. It had been speaking to him for quite some time. He only needed to listen.

A noise from the drive startled him.

She rode a great horse, sitting tall and regal like a queen. Her hair curled in black ringlets around her pale face. Her eyes were blue with a faint trace of gold round the edges. She smiled at the castle, shadowed by the setting sun, and whispered, "I'm back."

The wolf growled. She smelled of wolf, and something else. Something he could not place, which was unusual. She noticed him and smiled again. "Cousin Travin, I'd know you anywhere."

"He doesn't speak," Alexis said, appearing from around the house. "He.. he's a wolf. There isn't anything human there anymore."

"Seems tame for a wolf." She sighed. "However, humans can be more violent than the cruelest of wolf, so maybe we should be glad he's not human."

"Who are you?" Alexis demanded.

"Oh, dear Alexis, don't you know? No, you wouldn't. I haven't been here since you were a baby. I'm your Cousin, Chancer."

Comments:OOC - Can't wait for the new plot! Of course we missed each other!

IC - When all had left the room except her Mom, April became teary eyed. In only a few short days, her view of the world had expanded beyond anything she could have imagined and in the most terrifying of conditions, she had been a pillar of strength and surprised herself with her bravery and abilities. She had stood directly against the extremely powerful wizard Trock and faced almost certain death and yet was still alive - alive thanks to her friends. She couldn't explain it, but April felt an inexplicable bond to Alexis and her brother Travin - like she was meant to be here for some reason. She smiled brightly at her Mom who now gave her a careful hug. April winced in preparation for the pain, but it never came! Merrique was as good as her word! April relaxed in her Mother's arms and released her overdue emotions. She took a long deep stuttered breath and then wondered silently, wondered sadly, what had become of Travin.

Comments: Travin stood on his cliff, letting the wind blow through his hair. It was his memory, his mind in which he'd imprisoned himself. However, there was peace here, peace and simplicity, which was all he really wanted. Here there was no battle with the wolf, they were one in the same. He was simply Travin. Not Travin the Caretaker, Travin the Brave. No one knew such a person even existed. There was No One to even care. He howled, something he rarely did in human form, and it felt good. Felt so absolutly grand he did it over and over, listening to it echo in his imaginary valley.

"Oh Travin, you are such a fool," the voice said to him.

"How did you get here? I left you behind! I'm free of you!" he replied.

The voice chuckled. "You will never be free of me. The problem with you caretakers is you think I am just a house, but I'm not. I'm a living being just like you. I pick my caretakers with great care of who they will one day become, then I latch myself into their hearts. You love me Travin. There is nothing you can do to be rid of me."

"I can!" He shouted. "Just leave me be! I don't want it, I never really wanted it!"

"Your sister, Travin," reminded the voice. "Does she deserve this? Losing her love, having to face all this danger alone, and then becoming my caretaker with no say in the matter. Do you not love her, darling boy? What of the little girl who adores you? Think of your world."

He broke down. "Oh Lady Collinwood, I need it all so badly. And yet, I know I may hurt them if I go back to the way I was."

"But now, right here and now, you are one with the wolf. That is what seperates you from all the others. The other wolves never fought it as you have. They lived at peace with themselves, and until you can do that every change will hurt."

She left him, alone on his imaginary cliff, where he thought about her words.

Merrique took April's hand and let her powers do what they could.

Gabriel took Alexis gently by the arm and led her out of the room, out of the house, where the sun was now coming over the horizon.

"It's so beautiful," whispered Alex. He nodded.

"As are you," came his soft reply. "Alexis, you did wonderfully last night. I'm sure Lucas would've been proud."

Her breath caught in her chest. "How did you know about Lucas?"

"Alexis, you summoned me. That's how I know." He paused. "I'm leaving. For now my duty is done here. But I must tell you this, you will love so many times for you are young, and every time you lose a love it will hurt like nothing you could ever imagine." He turned to face her, putting his hands on her upper arms. "That is what love is. You loved Lucas, you love your brother. In time, the wounds caused by that love will heal. Believe me, every broken heart can love again."

He kissed her gently on her cheek and stepped down the stairs, disappearing as he went. She sat down on the cold hard stone, feeling it's reality, and wept bitter tears.

Comments:April realized that she must have completely let her guard down - thought-wise. Gabriel knew she was looking for the wolf, who in her mind was still somehow Travin. April nodded her thanks to Gabriel's whispered reassurance. She looked smilingly into Alex's beautiful eyes and felt a wave of relaxation. Among friends there was no need for thought shielding, although she regretted subjecting her telepathic friends to her internal expressions of pain.

Kristina wiped April's brow with a cool damp washcloth for which April was most grateful.
April felt like a pampered child, "now if only the pain would go away!" she wished.

April stifled her next question because she could hear the pleading in Alex's voice.
Kristina tried to back April away from the wolf and in doing so, tugged on April's midsection.
April couldn't suppress her exclamation of pain. Her left arm had been smashed up pretty badly and she had multiple broken ribs from her several encounters with Trock. She felt light-headed and the next thing she knew, she was in the soft embrace of her own bed at Collinwood Hall and those whom she owed her life were standing nearby talking softly.
Raising her head slightly, she noticed that the wolf was not there with her friends and Mom. The pain in her ribs was almost maddening now but she would not complain. "What happened?!" April inquired with a bit of embarrassment in her voice.

Comments: Alexis cast her eyes sadly to the ground. The wolf wasn't really friendly, but he recognized the girl from his earlier mission. Save the girl, save the girl. She was safe, his nose told him that much. In all actuality he was just as moody as the person who used to be there. He could be quite nasty and unfriendly. However, he was not going to hurt someone that he'd been sent to save.

Gabriel cleared his throat. "He's not a human, April. He's a wolf. There isn't anything friendly about him. Just because he is tamed for the moment doesn't mean he's not dangerous. Travin has a duel personality- the human side of him and the wolf side of him, which usually are together, sharing the same mind and body. What I mean is the human part isn't there. That's why he hasn't changed back. He might never change back. I can't be sure."

"Please," pleaded Alexis. "No more tonight, please. It's done, it's over. Let's go, now."

Almost everything was perfect now! April cocked her chin to one side. She was thrilled that Travin SEEMED to be alive but she was confused by Gabriel's statement. "Wait!" she said as Alexis offered the closure and comfort of Collinwood Hall. "Gabriel, what do you MEAN he's not in there? Where is he? And who is this wolf that is so friendly to humans?" She caught Alex's eye and wondered empathetically what Alex was feeling. Alex's white eye reminded April of the eyes of the Goddess!

Gabriel walked over to the scene, followed shortly by Merrique. He gently nudged Alexis away.

Travin, he thought. I know you aren't all the way in there. So both of you are going to have to answer. Okay? Do you want to live? Listen to me, damn you. Your sister's here. Do you want to see her? Or this pen pal of yours? Do you want to like, a simple word will settle this.

Yes.

It was a simple healing spell, mainly an energy spell, to give him the strength to live, if he so chose. Gabriel drew strength from everyone there. Maybe so that Travin would feel the strength and love coming from all of his friends and family.

It was then that Travin retreated somewhere into the dark corners of his mind. His persona, his identity, himself.

The wolf rose, opening it's intense blue eyes and looking around. He knew he only had one mission- the girl. She was secure, now protect the girl. The girl and the Fae the girl and the Fae. Food. No human! No human! He circled the girl like a prowling animal, looking at her. He heard the Fae order the girl to hold still. He smelt the fear of her mother. When he was standing before her he did a graceful, wolfen bow, bending a little and putting his head low to the ground in a gentle and loyal manner.

Gabriel looked around. "Travin's not in there anymore."

IC - April felt a lightness to her heart - like she had just looked into the eyes of an angel! She was breathless, her mouth half opened as she gulped the air. She looked back to see her Mom slowly coming up from behind and then turned to approach Travin. Alexis was steps ahead of her. April's heart prayed for Alexis, prayed that Travin would still have life in him.

Comments:I take it Mr Bad News is dead? Going to borrow April. I've lost track of Kristina. Mail me with any problems. I don't mean to offend. Alexis rushed in the direction of April, mainly to find Travin but also to see if her goal had worked. Gabriel and Merrique stayed behind, ever watching, ever tense as if from the trees their enemy would spring and they would once more be thrown into a battle.

"Travin!" called the Fae. A few tears managed to push past her eyes and slide down her white cheeks. Then, suddenly among the trees...

It started as a small ball of light, what looked like a will-o-the-wisp bounding through the forest. But the light grew larger and hazier, soon shaping into the form of a woman, a very gloriously beautiful woman, white and blinding with no colour and no blemmishes. A Perfect Woman. A Goddess. Gabriel and Merrique knelt at the sight of her, Alexis stood tall. April, watching Alexis, bravely stood her ground. With a wave of a delicate yet strong white hand one of the trees moved from it's resting spot. Then another, and another. One by one they returned to their original standing spots, like obidient soldiers, digging new roots deep into the ground. They seemed to sigh as if they were relieved from a great pain.

The location of the wolf and Trock were slowly revealed.

The Goddess turned to go, but Alexis stopped her. "Can you not tell us whether he will live? Will he change back to human? What is to become of him?"

The Goddess stepped to Alexis and put a hand on her shoulder. She looked into the faery-girl's eyes, which were once more two colors, white and pale violet like her hair. The Goddess's eyes were like her clothes, her skin, her lips- white.

"His path is his own to choose," came her wise, deep, beautiful voice. "He may choose to live or die, he may choose to be a wolf or a half-man. Only time can tell. No Goddess and No Faery can choose for him, or even see what he may choose for himself."

With this the Goddess turned to go. Her gaze ran over April. She smiled and nodded and was once again a light form and then a ball and then she was gone.

Alexis was stunned.

IC - April sprinted down the promontory towards the spot where Trock had collapsed. She knew that if Trock wasn't dead he could still extinguish her small life, but that was a minor right now. Trock was terribly close to the spot she'd last seen Travin! April didn't have a clue how she could help with the tons of timber that Travin must be under, but she was going to try! As she climbed up on the closest of the huge fallen trees, she changed her mind and tried to outrun the shower of branches headed outward from her former destination!

Travin's hand let go of Trock's ankle. For the brief moment it took to distract Trock Travin had been in human form but his strength was supernatural. He didn't let go until Trock's ankle had snapped and Trock had fallen from Alexis's power. But then, he was wolf once more and unconsious as he was still crushed under a giant tree and hurt from it's fall. Bones had been broken and blood had been spilled. But to this wolf all was blackness.

IC - As the trees came crashing down, April and Kristina huddled behind the small rock. The rock would not be enough protection from the ancient giants that were coming down all around them. Suddenly they felt a strange feeling as everything around them blurred. They weren't dead, they were - somewhere else, somewhere just out of the range of the deadly timber.

How had they gotten here?! They were higher up now and from their new vantage point they could see Merrique and Alex nimbly dodging and hopping from tree to tree. And then it was over. Now they could see Gabriel as well. What were the three of them doing and where was Travin? April spotted Trock.

Trock looked directly into April's eyes with a terrible sneer and then he began rising out of the debris, hovering just over the timber and drifting towards her!

Suddenly he sunk a few feet and screamed out in pain! Something or someone had grabbed an ankle and was crushing his flesh into his bones!

Now multiple beams of colorful energy came at him and he was unable to react so great was the pain in his ankle. Trock felt intense pain in his head and chest and then everything went blank. The grip on his ankle was released, but Trock was either unconscious or dead and was totally unaware of his freedom.

The wolf growled. Trees falling in every direction. What to do? What to do? He could do nothing as one of the trees crushed him under it's falling weight.

"Travin!" screamed Alexis. She and Merrique jumped on top of the falling trees and rode them like a wave, as one fell they would jump to another and another until they were on the top layer of fallen wood, safe. A single tear rolled down her cheek.

No time for that now, Gabriel's voice roared in her head. He wanted them saved!

Gabriel had managed to work a little magic and teleport the two women to a safer spot a few yards away.

Alexis let her emotions control her. She felt the rage, the hurt, the ange all bubbling inside her heart like a boiling kettle. She flung her two cupped hands to the sky in a pose that a sorceress might have taken. Tilting her head back she called for all the power she could. Merrique and Gabriel joined in the calling and all at once they flung their power at Trock.

IC - Had there been one or even two powerful foes, Trock's abilities and ego would have gotten him through the worst of battles! But here were at least three opponents or more and it was possible that he was now mortally wounded. A blast of cold now hit him that sapped even more of his energy and will. Trock slumped and then suddenly with a burst of determination and pride, he swept his arm in an arc and instantly there were terrible rending noises as forty trees - every tree in the path of his spell -came crashing towards him. If his adversaries had not all been crushed, he might still make his escape in the confusion!

The wolf pummeled the warlock and went for it's throat. He managed to rip open it's stomach, his teeth snapping in terrible rage. The blood of this thing did not taste good, which threw the wolf off balance. He heard the Fae scream. Distracted by it, the wolf turned his head only to be knocked over and wrestled with by the warlock, who was pushing with power on the wolf's mind.

Alexis nimbly avoided the fireball that was sent in her direction with a tremendous leap. Her strength came from her fear and her need to survive. Gabriel disappeared and reappeared beside April. The fireball sent at him caught a nearby tree on fire. He sent a cool blast of liquid to stop the fires before the whole forest was ablaze. Merrique rushed at Trock, but her feet were knocked from under her with the force of the wolf and the warlock. Alexis squinted her eyes, the eyes, which were each a different colour (purple and white, like her hair) turned pink all over and glowed as she blasted Trock with all the ice she could muster.

IC - April seized the moment to pull her Mom out of harm's way and as she looked back from the cover of boulders, her heart leapt at the sight of Alex, Merrique, and Gabriel - all looking most formidable!

Trock had just suffered the indignity of having his own blast knock him on his butt and now he had been hit from behind by Alexis with a blast that chilled him deeply! Without missing a beat, Trock hurled three huge balls of blue fire towards Alexis, Merrique, and Gabriel! Trock was unable to see if his fiery blasts had hit their targets as he was jarred "to the bones" by a terrific physical force!

The Elves and the Faery stood there, watching, trying to help. Alexis, the Faery, was the one to "break the ice" and toss her first blast. Merrique was in ready stance, for hand to hand or a power battle. Gabriel stood back, a knowing look on his face, his cloak draped around his body to hide and hint of movement from him.

The wolf ran with a faster speed than any animal before him. He followed their scents, the scent of the girl, the woman, the faery and the elves. The odor of the horrible thing that took the girl. Following them all he ran like a blood bullet. Only when he reached them did he slow and stalk in front of the Faery to protect her. He glared at the evil warlock-wizard thing before him, baring his teeth and growling quietly. This thing needed to die.

Comments:OOC - Nice!!
IC -    Kristina felt as if she had been whapped with a frying pan in the face. Her blurred vision was clarifying but still she could see nothing - no tree, no rock, no nothing that could have repelled her so.
"Mom? I can't see you! Are you OK?"
"Yes, but I hit something or something hit me!"
"Well, I don't want to scare you, but if we want out of here, you've GOT to get to Travin!"
"I'm going now!" Kristina panted before April heard another loud "OWWWWW! Damn!"
"Mom, what is it?!"
"It's like an invisible wall, I, I can't get around it!"
"Of course you can't get around it! It's surrounds you my dearest Reena!!"
"I'm not Reena you idiot! She's been dead for yea----"
"Mom, SHUT UP!" April tried to interrupt. But it was too late.
"Gaddry! I should have known the child lied!" He pivoted and without hesitation, launched a blast at April that would have killed an elephant!
April was TOTALLY ready and deflected the blast and in the process the heavy tree that pinned her was reduced to splitters! April groaned as she rolled towards her Mom. Another blast came as she rolled. There was no way to react in time. Now it would all end. NOT! No pain! Only a deafening shattering noise - like breaking glass. As April
looked back towards the noise, she saw Trock's snarling face, his body splayed backwards on the ground, and his free fist clenched in anger. Trock had missed April and shattered his own invisible wall! Kristina was unharmed and free AND Trock had been caught in a nasty blast reflection!
Wasting not a second, April ripped her Mom off her butt and dragged her with almost inhuman strength stumbling and almost at a run towards Collinwood Hall. If she could just keep trees to their backs as they ran! Would it be good enough? Stumbling almost drunkenly now, April looked dejected as she came to an abrupt halt. There stood Trock laughing maniacally directly in their path twenty feet ahead! April was not going to give up, but her sense of reality told her that she could not hold out against Trock. "I love you Mom." She stated simply and squeezed her Mom's hand as her way of saying goodbye. She steeled herself for the expected blast.
Suddenly Trock's eyes widened and his jaw dropped in anger as if he had just been hit with a freezing water balloon. He wheeled about expectantly!

Comments: Alexis and Gabriel led the way toward the well but Merrique stopped them. She heard women in the woods. April and Kristina! They ran the opposite way, towards the cave of the evil wizard.

The change was swift and painful. His wolfen form leapt through a (luckily) open window in the library and followed the scent of the girl towards the cave. He raced with all his speed and might.

Comments:   April tried hard to ignore the pain that was making it so difficult to breathe. Whether she was being impaled by a branch or merely being crushed, April fought unconsciousness by sheer willpower. After what seemed to be hours, she heard footfalls approaching. ?Nothing could have survived being eaten by the monster in the well so it COULDN?T be Trock? she assured herself. Now she could discern plainly that the approach was from the direction of Collinwood Hall. ?Crap, Travin told me there were some baddies in these woods. It?d be just my luck to get away from Trock and then end up as a meal for some carnivore! It sure is a noisy thing!? April thought, resigned to her helplessness. The thing stopped. It was breathing hard and loudly.
    ?BABY!?     April heard.
    ?MOM?!?
?Oh honey, Travin said you were at the bottom of a well. I just had to come! Wha... What happened? How did you get under this tree? Uhhhh! I... can?t.. budge it!?
?Don?t try Mom, just run back the way you came and get Travin. He can get me out. But hurry, it?s crushing me!?
   Kristina hesitated.
    ?Mom, GO, PLEASE!?
Kristina was torn between irrationally staying and sensibly going for help. After a moment?s hesitation, she turned in the direction of the cave.
    ?MOM, WRONG WAY!?
?I just got turned around, sorry! I?ll be back soon! Hang on Honey!?
As she turned towards Collinwood Hall, she ran into what felt like a solid wall! Kristina slumped to her knees, dazed.
April heard her mother?s groan as she hit the ground. ?MOM????

Swift pains came like thrusts of a dagger into his stomach. Why was she making this one change so painful? He moaned. Gabriel pulled the girls away as he fell to his knees in the change. Gabriel knelt next to him, putting his hand on Travin's shoulder. Travin looked at him with hopelessly wolf-like eyes.

"Find April. I'll catch up," he managed. "Go!"

Gabriel nodded. He ushered the two girls out the door. "Merrique!" he ordered. "Merrique! Go get Kristina, hurry!"

With light feet and quick speed she rushed up the stairs to the woman's room. Alexis was sobbing. "Oh what's happening to everyone?"

Gabriel gathered her up in his arms. "Shh, pull yourself together, Alexis. We need you."

Merrique rushed down the stairs. "GABRIEL! She's not there! She's gone!"

"Stupid woman," he muttered before he could control himself. "Come then, there is not time to waste!"

Comments:   What Kristina did next, she couldn't have guessed her own reasons. "I need to go lie down upstairs." she interrupted, and with a sigh, she turned without a word and made her way out the library door. She headed straight for the kitchen, around Tully, and out the door into the gardens! Kristina lacked April's uncanny sense of direction, but she knew the general direction of the well now. She also knew that she was not equipped to do ANYTHING against Trock, but all that she could think of was April in some dark hole and besides, Travin hadn't mentioned Trock. It did not occur to her that her absence might actually delay April's rescue. She was a Mother blindly trying to protect her daughter! The woods were dark to her eyes even under the full moon, but the underbrush was sparse. Unwittingly, she stumbled upon the path that led directly to the cave!

April had discovered a corridor leading out of the treasure chamber. She could feel the freshness of the evening air and was guided by the light of the full moon's light as it rose, now barely above the horizon. As she slipped out of the crevice, she had to negotiate her way through a maze of bushes and brambles. "Well protected!" she smiled. "I'll be back someday for MY dress!" She now made a beeline for Collinwood Hall. "It's a perfect night for a jog!" she laughed. Behind her, the clouds trailing the sun's departure, displayed their most gorgeous hues of purple and orange as if trying to impress the rising Lady. April came to a sudden stop. What looked to be a giant claw was reaching out of the moon! Unable to react in time, she was swatted backwards and pinned?not beneath a claw, but under a large scrub oak. Trapped and in pain, April lay motionless, and watched as the moon inched it's way into the sky.

At the cave's main entrance, a low cackle announced Trock's return from the dark pool beneath the well. "Didn't I say she wasn't going far?" he bragged to no one but himself.

Travin herded them into the library and pulled out a map of Collinwood Hall with frightening speed. He laid it out on the old desk (which had once belonged to Amnichola Fitzwilliam and Lady Margaret's father). He pointed to the spot where the well was. "This is it, where I found her!"
