You're dong a beautiful thing on this site and in your life. May God bless you and your family. I have had four pregnancy losses and was told I had an incompetent cervix. I learned this before my fourth pregnancy, when I was given a cerclage. Unfortunately, it did not work. Well, I still have faith and great desire to be a mom (no children currently). My husband and I just had a misscarriage at a little over 20 weeks, it was a little girl her name was carmen dakota she weighted 10.9 oz. and was 9 1/2 inches long. They said that they couldn't save her,she was born on November 1,2003 at 11:00pm and she died at 11:30 pm. They said she was just a fetus and not a baby, because she wasn't viabale to live. That really hurts when they say that she wasn't a baby. They said my water had broke and they didn't know how long it had been broke, because I had been bleeding the whole time that I had been preg. They didn't know what made it brake or why I was bleeding, but they told me that there was nothing they could do about it. About a week before I misscarried thay told me that I wouldn't misscarry. I had already misscarried about 3 years before, but I was only 6 weeks into my preganacy. We have a beautiful little boy named Austin who will be 3 in January. We want to have another baby just as soon as we can, but we are both so scared. Any advice will help us out. |

| Comments: | What a great site to meet people who understands. I had a miscarriage at 8 weeks, I lost boy twins at 5 months (due to twin-twin transfusion syndrome) and now I'm 16 weeks pregnant. I had a cerclage done at 11 weeks, I was already dilated at 3.5, she says it's staying together and doing well, but I want to hear some success stories please! Can this hold the 9 months? I had a bad doctor that cut off my cervix so i can't carry and cant have a cerclage buecause there is nothing there to stich. The only other option that i have is to have an adominal cerclage done. I am very scared to get pregnant again even though i desparetly want a child. Any information would be a God send.

| Comments: | I too have lost 3 children, all related to IC. During my last pregnancy, I had a procedure done called a cervical cerclage at 13 weeks. April 18, during a routine visit my doctor discovered that I began dilating with bulging membranes and was immediately hospitalized on strict bedrest. May 10, I delivered a beautiful baby boy (23weeks/6 days gestation). Two days ago, May 20, my son passed away. Thank you for this site; it is very encouraging and comforting to know that I am not alone during a time of grieving. My husband and I have a blessing in a 9 year old son and we look forward to trying again for another blessing to be added to our family. May God richly bless and keep us all in his love and peace forevermore as we know our children are resting in his loving arms. Hugs and Kisses to them all! |

| Comments: | My son Alec Josiah lived for 19 hours after being born 3 months premature. I got to hold him and kiss him while he was dying. My water had broke at 18 weeks and I was able to carry him until 24 weeks. He was my life and even though I know he is in Heaven, it is so hard to deal with. Especially because I am 18 weeks pregnant right now and I am already having problems and I am so scared that I am going to lose this one too. I can't find a good specialist. I had one last time and he missed alot of things that could've helped Alec live. Please pray for my baby. |

I have lost two babies early (probaly genetics) and two because of an incompetent cervix. After my last lost I had the cerclage but unfortunately I have a few problems become pregnant now. I was told it is more difficult with cerclage before conception. Please email me and tell me how your pregnancy is going I want to know sort of what to expect with this type of cerclage (effacing, PTL, and so on). I could realate to your loss...I am very sorry you had to go through it...I went through a rescue cerclage and by the grace of god made it (just barely) and sadly...I lost 2 boys before this shaky successful birth. Both were Incompetent cervix related. I lost a boy at 14 weeks and a another boy at 17.5 weeks. I actually had to go through inducing and delivery...very TOUGH! I was so scared to hold him...I was in shock...both times my water ruptured! I have pictures of my 17.5 weeker...so I hold them very dear to my heart. My doctor strongly advised a tubal so at her insistance I had one...I have 2 boys and a girl and 2 boys in heaven. Thanks for sharing your story. Toni Matlock |
