Hej!
Mitt namn är Anna och jag går sista året på gymnasiet i Östersund. Jag och min vän Klara har valt att arbeta med fjällrävarnas situation som Projekt Arbete på 100 poäng under 2009/2010. Vi har följt med på en inventering av fjällrävs lyor i Stekenjokk med en naturbevakare från Länsstyrelsen. Vi ska ha en utställning på Östersunds Länsbibliotek i mars, dit alla intresserade kan komma för att få information om fjällrävarnas utrotningshotade tillstånd. Tänkte bara att det kanske är något av intresse för Er då ni länge har arbetat med fjällrävar. Har ni några tips att ge oss inför utställningen? mvh, Anna |

| In their ancestral range, these animals should be preserved if it is not at the expense of other native species. The Arctic environment is so fragile that any one species can upset many others, animals and plants. In places where these foxes did not exist but were introduced, biological havoc has resulted. In the Aleutians, a new top predator was introduced and near extinction of many bird species has resulted. |

I have an arctic fox(white). I saved her from a breeder that I know who raises them for furs. I got Amy when she was 2 1/2 weeks old and now she is 3 1/2 month. She is the sweetest buddy ever at this time. Being a wild animal instinct might change her in time. I would like to know more about your project, and if it would be the best for her, Amy. I am a third grade teacher and am currently teaching a unit on the tundra region. I have in my classroom a stuffed arctic fox that was found in a farmer's field in Osseo, Wisconin, USA. No one knows how the fox got to Osseo, but some think it escaped from a rest stop on a nearby interstate. When it was found, it was dead, but still limp.
I would like to believe the food supply was low and that it was traveling south looking for food. I am curious if anyone knows if there are records that show years when the lemming supply was low, or if anyone has ever tracked and recorded the furthest distance an arctic fox was traveled. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! |

We found the page doing research for my Granddaughters fourth grade class project. She decided on Arctic Fox'x.
May she print the pictures and use them in her report. We found the site to be very good and it truly made her more interested in her report. |

I am a first grade teacher for Tulsa Public Schools in Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA. My class is putting together a hallway presentation of the Arctic Fox. Your sight will be most helpful for finding facts and references.
I am curious about this species population in other areas of the arctic region. I was unaware of any dangers to this beautiful animal and the habitats in which it lives. If you have more helpful information, my class would love to share it with our school. |

I would like to donate some money for the project, if that is possible. I think that many people would want to do the same, if they only knew how. As a person, who lives in Finnish Lapland, I feel all the endangered animals very close to my heart, for some reason, especially Arctic Fox, "naali" as we say in Finland. I also wish to know, if you have more pictures of naalis in winter time,(others than those on your web-sites)because I paint animals with water colours and I have found it very hard to find good fotos of naalis in winter anywhere! Can you help me? For understandable reason I can only paint them from fotos!
