We too had to take him off his ventilator, and he passed peacefully in our arms moments later. Our surviving twin 2 Keenan is now 7 months old and doing good. I know we've a long road ahead of us yet, but i wanted to say thankyou for sharing your precious story. | Comments: | What a beautiful page. I lived your story, but when I was told I was having twins deep in my heart somewhere I knew I would only have 1 baby. I had 2 beautiful boys, Chad and Brad, both weighting 2 1/2 lbs. And like you our Brad had to go to a different hospital for care. Brad was the strongest and was suppose to be Ok, just needed a minor operation. His brother chad was very sick and we were told he wouldn't make it. After the operation he got infection thru-out his small body. he was on life support and he as also died in daddys arms. After his death Chad, the sick baby, the one the doctors said would not live started getting better. Then the doctors said he would live but that he would have all kinds of health problems and more than likely be mentally handicap...A miricle must had happen because he is a freshman in college now, on the deans list and healthy. Thank you for your story. You baby is beautiful... |

The journey you have begun is a long and painful one (the journey of grief) but with God's help you will know without a doubt that Antonio is with him in Heaven strong and well and you made the right decision. I know this because I had to make the same decision. My son though was 39 yrs. old and he had a massive brain anuerysm and we had to have him removed from the machinery that was keeping him alive. It was the most difficult decision of my life but I know in my heart of hearts it was the right one. Than 10 mos. later our beautiful 16 yr. old granddaughter Cassandra died of complications of the flu. Our journey is painful and I don't know how I would have gotten thru except for my faith in God and wonderful friends like Maria. God bless all of you and know Antonio is with Jesus.

I lost my son 17 years ago come this Monday the 19th of May and I am already having a hard time with everything hitting me over. The pain never goes away. Antonio was so beautiful and his precious twim is really growing up to be a handsome young man. It is wonderful how you keep Antonio's memory alive. I think that is so important. My sons were 13 months apart and to this day even a the age of 18 Jeff talks about his brother Shawn and visits the cemetary often. He tells everyone about him and they have a special bond. I can barely see through my tears to type this and my heart is breaking for you. Your words touched me so and the photographs of Antonio and his family were both beautiful and sad, especially the last one of he and his Dad. What pain you and your family must have gone through during those 45 minutes. I could feel the love you have for your baby in every word but I could also feel the emptiness left by his death. I know, all too well, this kind of pain. I'm the mother of three Angels. I wish I could tell you that in a few years everything will be fine and you will be back to your old self but I can't. You will never 'get over' Antonio's death and although time will never heal the pain, it does tend to numb it somewhat. Trust in God and take life one day at a time, one moment at a time. I am a friend of Christopher's mommy, Maria. You have a sweet page for your son. I pray that God will give you comfort and peace during this season when the memories of your son's short life must surely be more intense. I know this time of year is difficult for me (so I imagine it is also much so for you, as my daughter in heaven, Nathanielle Noelle, was stillborn thee years ago on Dec. 9.
