I just want you to know that i have been visiting Angel Laura's beautiful web-sites, she is such a lovley young lady. I know your heart is forever broken till you are reunited with Laura, the deep love you have for your child is shown in your wonderful tribute to her lifetime with you. I was just looking at my son Scooby's web-site also, this has been the worst time of it all, even more than last year, it will be 2 years in February, i feel the same way you do, like a shell of a person now. I havent been the same since he left us. My life seems all disoriented and dream-like. I think what is happening is i am past the shock phase of grief, and now reality is setting in. Its sinking in now,, he's not coming back. I am sorry Ann, i am very emotional right now, that poem ' stairway of tears' really grabbed at my heart tonight. It really hit home with me, i needed to read that. I have been struggling in my relationship with God alot latley, but i know he stands beside me. It was my plan to call you about the time you'd get home from work -- but one thing led to another and it got away from me. You are in my thoughts and prayers today as you celebrate your daughter"s birhday without her. I do understand your pain and anguish of losing your child. It is such a painful situation to deal with. There is no way to deal with the loss. We too, lost our son Christopher at the age of 21 to murder, and it is an unsolved case. We miss him terribly, and no matter how much time passes it is as if it was only yesterday. The pain does not get better, and the missing is the worst. We love our kids, and there is no other pain as worse as losing them. Our only hope is to be reunited with them when our time comes. Thank you for sharing your daughter with us. | Comments: | What a beautiful young woman Laura is. My heart goes out to you Ann and her husband and children. To loose a child is to loose a huge part of your heart and it can never be replaced until we join them in Heaven. Maria did a fabulous job creating this webpage in memory of Laura's 35th birthday. I call her "my angel on earth". I too lost a 39 yr. old son and 10 mos. after a 16 yr. old granddaughter and I just lost my mom October 13th. Although I must say the grief of losing my mom as she was 91 years old cannot compare to the grief of losing a child. She was ill with lung cancer and she was tired and ready to join her family in heaven. I still miss her very much and it hurts to know I can't just call her up any more and tell her my hurts. Selfish of me I know, but she was always there for me after Davey and Cassie's loss. Davey didn't have children, you are blessed to have a part of Laura in your lives. Cassie was my daughter's child. We share a bond I never dreamed we would share as mother and daughter, both having lost a child. John worked at McWilliams Forge with Buddy for 23 years and we went to Laura's wedding. We would see each other at the McWilliams Forge Maintenance Picnic every year and loved to talk to Laura and Mike and see Julianne. We only saw baby Michael once at the last picnic we attended - what beautiful children. The last time we saw Laura was at Buddy's 60th birthday party and she was so full of life and love.
