Name: ivan watterson E-mail address: william.64@tiscali.co.uk Where are you from?: magherafelt Comments: I would like to say first that i think you have done a superb job on the web site, i used to work in the mill in riverside back in the sixties and had a great time there, i also worked in enkalon and went to lough road school which i see is now a library board. It would have been lovely to see the old school in past times but i see you have no photos of it, but some of your photos are wonderful and what a joy to look at them. But what changes, when i lived there you were free to walk around now sadly like so many places to day you are not very safe anywhere. P.S I lived at the steeple from 1966 till 1976. Keep up the good work.

It was a lovely town and I haven't been back for many years but really enjoyed the site and will look at it again. Best wishes, Pat Bilton.

Name: mark macuska E-mail address: mmacuska@hotmail.cm Where are you from?: palm bay florida usa Comments: I enjoyed viewing your web site about Antrim. My family and myself resided in Muckamore from 2000 to 2003 and I was the Managing Director for Contex Ltd during this time. The schools were excellent, the town folk were friendly and we did a lot of shopping in Antrim. My daughter worked for J J B sports for a while and attended Antrim High School until departing for USA in late 2002. My son Scott attended Antrim Primary where my wife Susan was in the PTA at the school in which Mr Patterson was principal and an excellent one at that. It was a sorry day when we left due to the business closed due to business and cost pressures. My son Scott was gutted about leaving his school mates and many friends while living in N.I. I still have friends that live in Antrim and others outside of Antrim and they keep me up to date on happenings in Antrim. Hopefully within 2 years we will be back to visit and once again enjoy the town and those who live there and eat at our favorite eateries. We all miss Antrim believe it or not!!! Keep up the good work. Regards, Mark Macuska

Name: Jackie Crowther E-mail address: ej.crowther@tiscali.co.uk Where are you from?: Rochdale Comments: I live in Rochdale but my mother who is 84 this year, went to live in Muckamore when she was a child she remembers the wood at the back of the houses she lived in. I think these are the houses you show as York Street. My mother told me her mother used to say that Old Nick lived in the woods at the back and he would come and get her if she was a naughty girl. My grandfather worked in the clothing industry and I believe was blacklisted by the union so could not get work in Lancashire. That is why my mother thinks they went to Ireland. They did not have any family there, so I wonder if he went to work in the local mill in Muchamore. My mother remembers going over on the boat and sleeping on the wooden benches. They eventually returned to Salford. I have printed off your pictures of the houses. I think it is fabulous how you show the past and present together, I am sure my mother will be delighted when I show her the pictures I have printed off. Thank you for this insight into my mothers past.

One thing I enjoy doing is to find pictures of the towns that my family came from (England & Ireland) and put pictures in and this makes my geneology books much more interesting. I particularly enjoyed your information, especially showing pictures of Antrim back in the older days. My family lived in Antrim from the 1800s and earlier. **If anyone knows how I can get the history of my family (Morrow) from 1814 and earlier, I would be thrilled. I can submit names. I'm having problems getting their parents**

Name: Jim Knox E-mail address: solokaty144@msn.com Where are you from?: Antrim of Old Comments: I was born in Antrim a few doors up from Dr Alexander Irvine's birthplace in Church street. I can remember Warren Beggs Confectionary Shop, the Tosh's, Whitesides, the church across the road where the 'ghost' used to scare us wih his white sheet and his head under his arm. I had a crush on Jane Russell; why I don't know as she beat me at spelling in the finals. I cut Sam Whitesids's eye skimming a pea tin lid through the air. John Hume figures in my recollections also, but a bit vague. Mr Macilwaine was my favourite teacher and helped me win a scholsrship into the Ballymena Technical School where I went on to achieve a direct Entrant into the Royal Air Force where I served in Norway, Gibraltar, Crete, Cyprus, Malta, Greece, Turkey, Singapore, Borneo, Germany and in England. It was and is the best, most wonderful experience any young lad from Ireland could ever acieve. My rank on leaving was chief technician. I would like to write a book on the lines of My Lady Of The Chimney Corner, but don't have the strength or guts to do it....yet. Any takers???
