| Comments: | Hubby and I met our very first Leo on holiday last year on The Barbican in Plymouth - we thought 'that's a very big german shepherd' (we were a long way from the Leo). We chatted to the owner and completely fell in love with the breed.
Went to Crufts this year and chatted to a few owners and got some very helpful information. We're now looking to get our own Leo in the next couple of years - although we've been warned that we'll end up with more than one! Question - I would never dream of leaving a dog on it's own all day, but would you leave two dogs? Are they company enough for each other? |

| Comments: | I first encountered a Leo over a year ago and then met another a few months back whilst visiting friends in England. I live in Jersey so I don't get to see many Leos. It was love at first sight. I could barely tear myself away.
In the past I've always taken on rescue dogs but since my last four-legged friend passed away I've not wanted to replace him until I knew exactly the kind I needed. I would so much like to bring a Leo home with me. The only problem is finding breeders in the UK that I can visit during one round trip from Jersey. This is my first port of call and I'm hoping a few people will email me. If not, I will be contacting The Kennel Club. But it would be nice to hear from people who have had good experiences with breeders. |

| Comments: | We have just got a ten week old puppy. I have grown up with GSD's but this is my first dog in my own family.
I first saw a Leo in France two years back, wow what a fantastic dog. I always promised myself on and now I have STORM a really cute bitch from the Kjalanas line. A week into welcoming her into our home, and she has already made her mark, getting more self assured each day. A real character. It is amazing to see her grow literally day by day, unbelievable. Apart from my family she is the beat thing ever. |

| Comments: | Hello, I have a lovely collie cross which is coming up for 9 years old. I live within walking distance from the sea and would love in the future to have another dog that likes the water as my last two dogs have loved swimming and going to the beach. I'm starting out on my research into the Leonberger which is a breed I have discovered only recently. I realise that a Leonberger would be a huge commitment and I think it will be at least a couple of years before I could even think about taking on a pup. I hope that in this time I will be able to make contact with breeders and enthusiasts to get sound advice and meet some of your dogs before making such a commitment. |

| Comments: | My wife and I have just had our first Leo move into our home with us, after 30 years of having Westies ( we have 6 buried down the garden ) and 1 tanya still with us, Sasha has joined us as a family member and is now 19 weeks old (she came when she was 11 weeks old) She is lovely, laid back, 3 stones in weight already, but is such a quick learner we are amazed at her progress, ( even if she did steal our dinner on Saturday evening ) (Frozen lamb steaks ) If there are any other Leo owners in the North of Birmingham please get in touch. |

Your web site is full of great information and if it was not for the article on bloat, then one of our dogs life would have been shorter that what it was.
Keep up the excellent work. |

| Comments: | Great site!
We adopted a 12 month old male Leo or Leo/GSD cross (although we were told he was a GSD / St. Bernard cross) from a local rescue centre in February 2007. We have had several german shepherds and wanted another large dog, when we saw our gentle giant it was love at first sight and everyone who has met him since has loved him too. The only problems we have with him are that he wants to eat my cat and gets jealous so we can't talk to any other dogs. Is it common for neutered Leo's to lose their mane? When we got him in February he had only just started developing a mane and had a golden coloured chest. By the time we had him neutered in June his chest was much darker and he had a lovely mane but by the end of August he had lost most of his mane and was back to having a golden coloured chest. Is this usual and is it likely to ever grow back or is it totally governed by testosterone? We would like to do carting, swimming, agility and anything else that would keep him stimulated and happy. As he may be a Leo/GSD cross, and in any case we do not have a copy of his pedigree, would we be able to attend LCGB events or do you limit all LCGB activities to pedigree Leo's with full documentation? |

| Comments: | We are looking forward to being the proud owners of a Leo at the end of this year '07 or begining of next. Still doing research on all the breeders and their lines as I am hoping to show. We have been in love with Leo's for a long time but are only now in the position to own one. We live in the country with a river at the bottom of our garden. I get so excited when I think we will have a Leo in our family, but don't want to rush!! Great website, lots of advice, thanks, Kate and Jamie |

Any suggestions are more than welcome. Thanks Andrea |

| Comments: | I have been the proud owner of leos since 1984 when the leo I had was only the 29th in the country. I still have the same bloodline-- which goes back to Celia Peters and Normanscourt Alfred-- and no doubt the next leo will also come from Celia and relate to that bloodline. They are the most loyal, honest and loving dogs you could ever hope to acquire. The leo I have now is no exception--she is a most accomplished guard dog but also the most lovable and loyal family pet. When anything happens to her I will be devastated . |

| Comments: | Many thanks for this site. We sadly last our weirmaraner at the beginning of this year but prior to this we fell in love with the Leos. I am now researching as much as possible on a Leo so I know what I would be taking when hopefully I will be ready to do this later in the year. I live in the Essex area and if anyone knows of a training centre for leos obedience as well as water then could then drop me a line as I would like to go along and see them train. I have read up that they can be stubborn and not response to harsh training which it something I like the sound of as this is how I trained my Weirmaraner and yes it worked for her.
Look forward to hearing from anyone out there with this information. karen |

| Comments: | I have searched for info re leonbergers for some time. So glad to have found your excellent website. I would like any information available about caring for a leonberger and would like to hear from anyone in the Burnley area in Lancashire who may have one. Until recently and for the last 20 years we have aways had springers but have sought information about leonbergers. We are still in recovery from the loss of Pippa our last springer, but it gives us some time to find out more about Leonbergers, how to care for them and where to get one from. |
