Japanese universities are indeed hard to get into, but the coursework is far from hard. Except for a few technical professions, Japanese Universities actually teach nothing of value, Toudai included. Educationally, they’re as superfluous as the Mongolian Navy (as is high school in the United States). The Employers, however, will treat you like a god if you graduated from Toudai. It’s all for the wow factor. High schools in Japan actually teach the stuff we Yanks learn in college. Think of Japanese high schools as like community colleges with uniforms and other such superfluities. |
