| Comments: | What a wondeful surprise when I read your page about Castlereagh/Cregagh/Woodstock Roads. You mention a "Daddy Winkers Lane" and mention that you think it was named after a Mr. Wilson who owned an estate there. I believe that Mr. Wilson is a relative of my mother. My mother's mother (my grandmother) was a Wilson and I've heard my mother speak of a relative that was called "Daddy Winkers". I'm not exactly sure who he was but I'm going to speak to my mom and find out who he was.

| Comments: | I enjoyed reading your web site - my grandfather - George Robinson was with the 36 Ulster Division and left from Belfast to go to War. He was killed on July 1 - 1916 - at the Somme. He left his wife and five children - he was 34 years old. - My father - belongs to the 36 Ulster Division Legion in Toronto Ontario.

We used to take our nets and jam pots to a little stream down Daddy Winkers Lane...poor little fish didn't survive for long. Thanks too for info re Gooseberry Corner..I have wanted to know for a long time just where it was in Ballymacarrett. |
