I prefer letter written by hand mostly ,also ,typed letter, its depends on persons personal.But i will prefer handwritten notes to typed ones.Handwritten letters reveal so much of the friendliness of the letter writer.Hand written ones are more personal and mean that the person has taken time and effort to produce a one off piece of work. I love snail mail.Anyone can hop on a computer and type up an email, but it takes someone a lot of thought to sit down and write to someone.Also you can use the creativity in your letters and decorating your envelops.The crackling sound while opening of the envelope is just mind boggling and looking at the handwriting and recognizing who has written it. Its exciting to check the mail in your mail box.Its always nice to have someone giving you advice when need be. And not know you personally. A handwritten letter sends the message that you took time out of your busy schedule to sit down and make an effort to tell someone how you feel in a special and personal way. Let us face it – seeing the handwriting of our beloved and holding a piece of paper that we know they had touched makes us feel that they are with us in spirit. Letters from friends and loved ones can become cherished mementos that can be kept for life time.i think You can never have too many friends around the world, especially by snail mail! |

There are few things that bring me greater joy than giving gifts, and I try to make all of the gifts we give. Poking around thrift shops, yard sales and antique stores is another thing I enjoy doing when I get the chance. I’m always on the hunt for a treasure. We belong to a wonderful non-denominational church and are so blessed with a great circle of friends there. It really doesn’t matter where you live, but there are a few places that I would really love to hear from. My husband is from New England, and we love it there, so would especially love to hear from any Yankees. I’m really interested in Norway, since that’s where my father was born, and I am fascinated with Ireland, England and Scotland also. We go up to Cambria each year, so anyone from the California Central Coast, please write! A few of my other interests include: Amish life, baking, scrapbooking, photography, country life, camping, Debbie Mumm, feather trees, Americana, antiques, bible study and iced coffees. I’m looking for other ladies who enjoy writing and receiving long letters and who are interested in forming a real friendship. Let’s see. What else should I include? Most of my letters are typed, just to let you know, since I know that bothers some people. I’m not interested in quantity of pals, it’s definitely the quality that counts, and for that, I feel you need to have a few things in common. It seems like you can always tell after the first few letters if you are going to click with the other person. I try to make my letters chatty, like we were sitting down and chatting with each other over tea, and that’s the kind I hope to receive in return. OK, get ready for the negative part. I think for a letter to be interesting, you need to comment on what the other person has said and also ask questions, so that’s a must for me. It’s so annoying when the other person doesn’t say anything about what you have spent a great deal of time writing. It’s almost like your letter was read once when they got it, and then tossed in the trash, and when it comes time to answer, there’s no mention of anything that was important enough for you to write to begin with. When I answer a letter, I always have it right there beside me so I can remember everything that has been said. One-sided letters are pretty boring. I’m only interested in writing with ladies, and somewhere in the general age range of 25-50. If you are so swamped with other letters to write that you can’t reply more than a few times a year, I don’t think I’m the one for you. I try to be fairly prompt with my letters, and yes, I do realize that life gets in the way, and it does for me as well. But if it’s always several months in between letters, I find it too difficult to really get to know the person and stay caught up with their life if a long time always passes between letters. I’m sorry for sounding so picky and negative, but I guess I really AM picky. I put a lot into my friendships and can only dedicate myself to someone who I feel close to. I don’t want to waste your time, either, and I feel really guilty when things don’t work out, so I like to get all of this out from the very beginning. Well, I guess that’s it. I’ve given a pretty long intro here. If you would be interested in corresponding, please email me. But please, tell me about yourself.
