I am currently reasearching the Norman family and was surprised to find our decendants in Georgia. Also, there appears to be quite a discrpency in the family history. |

| Comments: | My anncestor is Ruth Norman born 1815 in Tennessee who was the daughter of William Norman of N Carolina and Mary Polly Kemp 1778 North Carolina. It becomes very interesting because Ruth Norman also married a Kemp - Wilburn Kemp. I've spent so much time researching Kemps and I am finally getting to the Normans and I am consumed! Very interesting history!
Thank You, Cheri Greenwood granddaughter of Aaron Woodard Kemp |

| Comments: | Hi there.
I'm researching my own family tree, and came across yours on rootsweb. I am a Norman living in Ontario Canada. My descendants of the Norman line came from Nova Scotia Canada, and then from England. William Norman of England then to Nova Scotia. Maybe far back to England we are related :) Anyways, just wanted to sign your guestbook, and let you know that the Norman's settled in Nova Scotia as well. Take care, Maureen Norman |

As we dodge snow on a daily basis way to north here in Wisconsin, we send our best wishes for a New Year to all the Norman and Thompson family members! A while back as I looked through the Normans of Normandy Hall, I noticed Thomas Harrison Norman was married to Katherine Augusta Thompson, daughter of my great-great grandfather, Dr. Edmund Russell Thompson, of New London. The book has been a blessing and I've learned much about my Thompson roots through it. Thank you Lois Norman! The biggest joy was then going on to locate a photograph of Mildred C. Thompson's resting place at the cemetery in New London. She was an adventurer given the long path taken from Virginia to Tennessee and then to Arkansas in the mid-1800's. God bless and keep writing! And have a very Happy New Year! We all need one! John K. Thompson, Jr. |

Being the youngest granddaughter, I inherited the Norman/Glaze family bible purchased in 1803 by David Glaze. His wife was Susanna Norman, daughter of William Norman. Lois Norman used this bible when researching her book, The Normans of Normandy Hall. The bible contains a section on colored births that might be helpful for others searching for their ancestry. I would like to share this info, but I'm not sure how to proceed. Please advise if interested. |

| Comments: | Wondering if I am descended from this line. My grandfather, Fred Bolton Norman, was born in Lincoln County in 1897. I believe his parents were Nancy Bolton and Henry Norman. Nancy remarried and moved to Texas. Fred lived there for a time, and he married my grandmother, Frony Lee Beasley (aka Frona or Phronie or Sis) in November of 1917, probably in Wilkes co. He served in WWI and passed away in Jones Co in 1950 or 51. I believe he had a brother named Webb. |

| Comments: | My name is Sedonna Norman and I am attempting to trace my Norman roots from Lincolton, GA. My family is of African descent and we were of mixed lineage at some point. My family is made of Norman, Glaze and Murry surnames. I have sent previous e-mails but have not received a response as of yet. My father remembers playing as a small boy on the porch/patio of the Stevenson-Norman house. I have studied the website and would welcome any information or input anyone has regarding the Negro births recorded or not for the Norman family.
I have studied the Norman family bible page 7 which records the Negro births and to my surprise many of the names are the current names of my surviving aunts and uncles that still reside in Lincolton and Charlotte. If anyone has information on Hannah Norman or Thomas (Tom) Norman I would greatly appreciate the information. Also, my father Pettis Norman was delivered at home by a Dr. Burch in 1939. He was the son of a sharecropper in Lincolton, GA. Many thanks and I have enjoyed learning about the Norman Family. |
