My Great-great grandfather John BATCHLER was buried there (according to Mercury Notice) in 1886. I would like to know where his 1st wife Ann (nee Alexander) was buried in 1863. Was told it was Cornelian Bay, but her name is not on their database, only that of his 2nd wife, also Ann who died in 1921. Thanks. CB |

| Comments: | A wonderful with a massive amount of work. However in relation to Glenorchy Methodist I wiould like to advise that my Grandparents were the first to be married in the new church. Herbert Edward Carey and Gertrude Mary Waterhouse were married there on 22 September 1911. Gertrude was a brother to Wilfred and from a prominent Methodist family. Herbert had been a Home Missionary at St Metthews Presbyterian Church and had boarded with Gertrude's family. If possible I would like confirmation that this has been corrected. |

According to a plaque on the Soldiers Memorial Walk on the Hobart Domain he has no knwn grave. This plaque and his name on the Villers - Bretonnoux memorial are the only record. William married 2 May 1910 Elsie Annie Jamieson (23 Nov 1886 - 15 April 1915) four children William (1909 - 77), dorothy (1911 - 1983), Myrtle stillborn 1913 and Leonard Desmond (1914 - 91) William and Leonard saw service in WW11. William remarried 22 Aug 1916 Adelaide Jamieson (19 March 1892 - 23 July 1957) William then enlisted on the 28 Aug 1916. I was told he was buried at Oatlands in an unmarked grave. My mother took me to a spot to the Nth of the church grounds before she passed away, but I'm of the belief that she may have been confused, as the grave site was not marked. Could you tell me if church records go back that far.

Based in Melbourne, it is difficult to access primary sources in Tasmania (such as cemeteries). I have previously purchased disks containing cemetery information - which is expensive - and obviously limited. It is very generous that you have made this information available to all. I plan to make a small contribution in order to assist with the website. A wonderful site to spend the evening on. I did notice the Ouse St John the Baptist Cemetery does not link to photos, is that a work in progress? Most of those graves belong to my family (one side or another) and I'd love to access any pictures. I also have much family across Green Ponds, Brighton and New Norfolk region, very good to see the graves after many years away from Tas. |

| Comments: | My uncle Roy Arnold Donnelly (ex Prisoner of War) & his only son Alan Royce Donnelly are both buried in Oatlands Cemetery. Tuesday 10th April, his widow Ellen Rose Donnelly & sons's mother will also join them in this Cemetery. Two other daughters Betty & Marie are living. |

Louisa Sarah Hack was my great grandmother. I suspect the two of the unknown graves might be my grandmother Louisa Maud Benson nee Hack and her husband Thomas John Benson as they both lived and died and Gretna, but I suspect they were paupers perhaps due to some family ostracisation. | Comments: | I have only just learnt of this site although I have been researching my family foa about 2 yrs.I only know of one of my forebears who is buried in Tas.although I don't knoe exactly where.His name was was James Panton he arrived on the John Barry in 1826 as a soldier of The Royal Veterans (late of the 42nd.Foot from Scotland) he died in 1862 and was buried in St.David Church Yard Cemetery in Hobart. I beleive his headstone was later moved but I don't know to what location. When I find out I will take another look at your site.
