After a wild paranormal experience, I googled room 204 of the Rochester Hotel and found this site. My family was staying in the room in early October 2011 and we had two unexplainable experiences. My mother was sleeping in one of the two double beds of the "John Wayne" room, and awoke to a woman's voice calling her from next to her bed, saying "Mom, Mom, Mom" three times in escalating volume. She specifically remembers having a different dream at the time and this voice was not part of her thoughts. She bounced up out of bed, saying, "what, what!" and there was no one there. The next night I was awakened from sleep by "someone" sitting on the bed. The bed moved down just as if someone was gently sitting down, right next to my leg! I was frozen...and again there was no one there but I felt it happen. These events have changed our lives, we never believed ghosts could be real until we experienced them ourselves. I'm interested to hear if other hotel guests have similar stories. | |

Hi, I found your site while looking for haunted castles. My daughter loves good ghost stories, and I'd like to take her to stay somewhere this summer. Have you looked into the Peck House? I've heard some crazy ones from there. Also, the Inn at the Zapata Ranch - I used to work there, and ALL of the employees used to experience strange things. When I was a little girl I used to live in Manitou Springs, Colorado. We lived exactly 100 steps from the local playground. We lived in a big house (or at least it was big to me). My sister, Mom & I used to always hear somebody walking in the house (when we would all be sitting in the livingroom or on the porch). We nicknamed him "Boots". He was a soldier, from what era I do not know. All I remember was that he was harmless. Every once in a while, we could see him. | |

My best friend and I are EXTREMELY FASCINATED by the paranormal and supernatural. We are ghost hunters TO BE SURE, if not professional ones. Could you please email me some inside scoops or hidden gems that are LIKELY to give us a good scare, or at least a decent taste of the paranormal. Interesting site. I can tell you of a haunting in Aurora that you don't list: the former commander's quarters at Fitzsimons. I lived there in the years immediately preceding its closing, part of the time in the guest house of those quarters (my father was Col. John M. Bull, the base's last CO) and can tell you that the main house and guest house/garage were DEFINITELY haunted. | |
