| Comments: | During this past week we had to say farewell to our beloved Golden boy, Odin, who left us for Rainbow Bridge far too early. He would have celebrated his 6th birthday at the end of September. The huge number of photos and videos we have of him will enable us to relive so many precious moments. My son purchased him from a reputable breeder and we waited 2 years until he arrived so we were obviously meant to have him. My son was called into the RAAF when Odin was 18months old so my husband and I were his surrogates. He never forgot his dad though, as the ecstasy of his greetings whenever Troy had leave had to be seen to be believed! He contracted an illness about 2 years ago and despite the best efforts of our vet, our careful nursing and Odin's unbelievable determination, it finally became evident that he had had enough and was ready to go. I cuddled him in his favourite blanket at the last parting and his passing was (for him) blissful and so peaceful but the missing him is awful. I do not want to replace him, but we do want another Gold to love and to spoil who will have their own special place within our family. If you would consider us as potential owners, I would love to hear from you. We live on the NSW Central Coast on a small acreage and the beach only minutes from our door and both are teachers so have lots of time to devote to our dogs- in fact, I worked in Special Ed. and often took Odin to work with me as he seemed to have a natural affinity for the children I taught. We have a little Tenterfield Terrier who was 6 months old when Odin arrived and they became instant companions. I am sure Lucy is looking for him in every dog we meet on our walks and she still snuggles in his beanbag, I think, to keep close to him. Our dogs are very much a part of our family and we have been truly blessed. I look forward to hearing from you and I think your boys and girls are amazing! We took Elsa from you just before Christmas last year. As I sit here rubbing her silver-haired belly, I realise how extremely lucky we were to have found you and your wonderful pups. She is Queen of the local Dog Park, loves puddles and sitting in the water bucket, plays with any dog who is up for for it and everyone she meets comments on what a beautiful girl she is with her happy, pretty face and gorgeous cream coat. She is loyal and affectionate, clever, funny and has a better temperament than any other dog (and most humans) I know. She rarely barks - but does try to talk which amuses us all. Our old goldens have passed on now (both 13yrs at the time) and we now have two 3yr old goldens - cousins - whose fathers are riangold champions.
