| Comments: | Well, I don't know if you'll notice this, it has been years since you updated. But wow, years? I've been reading your work since you were still completing he's back, which I could have sworn was just a couple of years ago... not 8 years next month! I must admit, I feel quite alone at the moment, searching for Buffy fanfic. Real life has led me to China, a country of the biggest homebodies you'll ever meet, and I've taken to buying season after season of my favorite, and also unknown tv shows. It actually took me nearly a year to decide to buy Buffy and Angel series (total cost, about $45 US) because while I've never stopped loving the shows, I haven't had a lot of time or patience with it in a few years. Especially fanfic has been pretty hollow to me. But my fiance is Chinese, and has never seen Buffy before. So watching it with her is almost like being there again, immersed in the lives of the characters the way it used to be. But the difference is the online experience. Where once I knew yahoogroups lists teaming with friends eager to talk and to fic, I'm probably in the same boat most all others are that still are looking. The spirit is hard to find. Maybe the new comic book is putting the light back, I don't know. Anyway, I turned, again, to your fanfic. And I still appreciate it, especially in it's vast quantity. But the quantity eventually runs out. And some of your unfinished fics (Double Destiny and The Pet in particular) are calling to me. So I'm just going to suggest that now, nearly 5 years after Buffy went dark, you might be able to pull out the dvds, and have enough of a rest to feel some of the same feeling I did when I reentered the lives of some old friends.
Okay, maybe that sounds really pathetic, me being all suggesty for the fanfic wanting, but god, I am sooooooooo bored in this country. They get up early, go to sleep early, and every "party" they have is a family dinner capped with family sitting in front of Chinese TV shows (and even my girlfriend agrees, they've got YEARS to go to get even close to America's quality. And all television shows are one season, one arc shows, aired twice a day, one day after another until the show is finished. Then rerunned the hell out of for a while, then relegated to history). Anyway, your fic was always super fun to read, so I want to thank you for that. Blaire Ryan |
