| Comments: | Wendi & Jason, Thanks for a great road trip, I enjoyed going to all of the wonderful places with you, some of my fav. parts were the field of dreams, hotels with a theam, and looking around the Sod Homestead.
Wendi, you have done a fine job of putting together a nice website. All of your links work and take you to the right place.
Jason, It was heaven, not Iowa...

I found your page by looking for a Sod Cutter on ebay and when I searched for just Sod, found a postcard of a Sod homestead. I wanted to see more of them and went to the web and searched for "Sod Homestead" found your Photos of the 2003 Road Trip. I spent an hour just looking at the photos.
My brother lives in Vashon Washington not to far from you. What a small world.

I can't post to the blog at the moment because Blogger is being brain-dead again. *sigh*
Incidentally, according to some info I found, Restless Natives premiered in the US at the Seattle International Film Festival. But then when it showed at the Guild later, Ned Beatty and Rick Stevenson were at that first showing and it was being promoted as a US premiere. I don't know why they would have bothered if it already premiered at SIFF. Maybe I first saw it at SIFF, since I did have a press pass to many SIFF films one year. I'm pretty sure that this one would have been the year before I went to SIFF, though. Anyway. |

| Comments: | Yes, Seattle was the one city in the US that actually had a respectable theatrical run of the film. (The US Premiere was right here, at the Guild 45th.) It was because Rick Stevenson, the producer, was a local guy. I saw it several times at the Guild, so I'm pretty sure it was there for at least several weeks. I have a poster for the movie that quotes a rave review from the P-I.
Anyway, it was never released on US video. It was released in the UK, but is now out of print there. It has not been released in DVD format, and I doubt it will be... but one can always hope.

It wasn't really relevant to the story and I didn't want to distract from it, so I didn't mention the title. It doesn't matter what movie it was, really.
But since you asked... it's a good movie and I recommend it highly. |

Are you a transplanted midwesterner (Minnesota?). And are you doing ok? Thanks for sharing your life, and I am looking forward to hopefully hearing from you.

| Comments: | Hi I'm Rune from Bergen, Norway
Just have to say that on the Apple/Mac pic it says RunicSwedish...both right and wrong, Runes is a very very old (about 200ac to about 1600ac) Scandinavian (Norway, Sweden and Denmark) writing system / alphabeth.
It was used by all vikings in scandinavia not only swedish vikings. It has it's branching out from the Anglo-Saxon/Frisian runes system. But most of the Runic findings abroad; in England, Scotland, and other parts of the world came there with Norwegian vikings. Norwegian vikings were those who travelled far distances over seas to trade, rob, rape and take slaves. The norwegian vikings are the most known vikings in the world.

| Comments: | Great costuming efforts on your page! Hope you enjoy wearing them, they'd be perfect for the SCA (minus the crown--only a few people get to wear those!). I have the Simplicity cotehardie pattern but can't get up the nerve to try making it--even if I did a muslin, that's quite an investment in fabric. I use a Past Patterns cotehardie pattern instead, which makes up nicely now, but took me a week just to fit it! Good luck with future costuming projects. |

| Comments: | Hi there, I'm full of admiration and pleasing things to say to you. I
am visiting your website after noting your careful, friendly,
knowledgeable response to someone on the WebGrrls list who
was having trouble getting her radio buttons to toggle. I am new
to Seattle and having spent much time looking at online resources
to acclimate and educate me about this beautiful city, I can say
that the site you worked on, with the coffee cup in front of the
view of Pike Market, was one of my favorite, and more important,
one that struck me as being truly outstanding, the result of
someone totally comfortable with web development enjoying what
they're doing. So it is nice to run into the talent behind that
impression of mine. Also, your house is beautiful. I live on Beacon
Hill too, in Centerpointe Apartments right by Jose Rizal park. Also,
I have suspected that I belong to those with a "delayed" sleep
pattern and have subscribed to your NiteOwl mailing list to explore
this suspicion of mine and to be exposed to other people's
thoughts on the matter. ALSO, you have a wonderful career!
Teaching HTML, running a rubber stamp company, freelancing - I
am envious, as this is the life (ok, sans the rubber stamp stuff but
I did go through a phase) I have tried to establish for myself. I am
currently somewhat miserably employed as a web developer at a
Windows/ASP shop working on a PC with ugly tools completely
separate from the "Design Pod" and over my head coding wise -
sigh.
Anyway, I am pleased to be your guest here at Slumberland. I
appreciate you. Peace be with you. |

heard the wonderful news they started playing again.
This last weekend saw them playing in Amsterdam, send
shivers up my spine. That was awesome! :-) So I decided
to stop by the dear23 posies page. Then clicked some
buttons and looked at your pinker than pink iMac. Nice.
Me, myself and I have a anthracite (is that English?)
greyish color iMac and quite fond of it. Is this an
interesting story? I don't know. ;) Anyway. I liked your
page and wanted to say that I dig Seattle. I was there
last summer! and it didn't even rain, lucky me :-))

the stuff that you only used to be able to learn at the

not find exactly what I was looking for, I did enjoy your
site and have bookmarked it. I was especially fascinated
by your story to save your home. I too, live in a 1911
bungalow (in Spokane) and I woek for a nonprofit agency
that provides rehab of older homes and develops affordable
housing. I enjoyed seeing the photos of your home's
interior. Our home was "remuddled" by a property owner in
the '70s. Much of the original woodwork was actually
REMOVED from the home, my guess is so that it could be
converted into a duplex. ARGH! My husband and I are
working to restore our house back to its original splendor,
and I love it when I hear of others doing the same!
(Especially with craftsmans!)Anyway, a great resource for
me has been www.crafthome.com. They operate here in
Spokane. Anyway, thanks for the good site!

| Comments: | Hello Wendy,
I really enjoy your site. You have a wonderful sense of
asthetic. I am sure that I will meander through once again.
This is definitely a cozy corner of the web. I could take
a nap. |

| Comments: | Hello. I've got this job for a couple weeks doing internet
research and keep getting distracted. I called the bbs for
a while many years ago and thought I'd stop by. My website
isn't up yet but I thought I'd add the address anyway. |

| Comments: | The house pictures have me drooling.
Sure beats either the 9th floor of A Dorm or a basement
apartment in Wallingford. Come to think of it, it beats our
sad apartment in Ballard. The only bed our second bedroom
could fit would be a Murphy bed, but we'd have to knock a
foot off the end and drill holes in the wall.
Glad to see it survived the library threat and good luck
with the restoration. |

Hi Wendy, February, 26, 2000
I was at my new job today and one of my co-workers came
across your page (somewhere between the hampster dance
and trying to find wonder woman yelling "WaaZuup" and
when I heard them say your name I thought "whoa, what
are the odds of that happening?"
So I at least had to say HI.
What's going on with the Posies these days?
I sold Corner Comics 2 in January of 1999 and retired
from the comic world.
I hope things are going well with you.
Later,
John. |

| Comments: | Hi Wendi. I checked out your website after reading about
your dilemmea in American Bungalow magazine. I also live in
Seattle and own a 1911 Craftsman bungalow with my husband,
Kevin, in the Lakewood/Seward Park. Unfortunately, our
house had been butchered and needs lots of work to get it
back to its original glory. Half the time, we can't even
determine what things originally looked like! If you'd be
willing, I'd love to see your kitchen since you say it is
original - our next big project is remodeling our kitchen
and we'd like it to be Craftsman period.
Anyway, I've enjoyed visiting your website. We have a
number of things in common: My maiden name is Dunlap (I
checked out your geneology page and didn't find any common
relatives, but who knows...), I'm also an artist (I
really like your paintings), and I got married the same year
as you.
Keep up the nice site. Take care, Carrie |

| Comments: | This page caught my eye because I have a son named Nemo,
named after this character. Tried to access the William
McCay page, but link was broken. I'd love to download more
gif's for him. |

| Comments: | Hi, just to spice up your guest book!
I am from Pretoria, South Africa browsing through the net
and cams as I am longing back to my visit to Seattle in
November 1998 - business you see.
I intend on bringing my family over in December to
experience the hospitality as I did.
If you so wish, please e-mail me at my address.
Regards

| Comments: | I saw your website while searching for webcam info. I have
a Mac and I was wondering how you setup your QuickTake to
post photos on the web? Thanks for the idea |

| Comments: | Just had to try the new guestbook out with one post. Anyone
still out there, through the domain name switch last year and
everything else?
I just added a new guestbook to the wedding page as well.
It's about time.
