In englad the ratings work a little differently ; as a 17 year old I'm perfectly happy (and legally allowed) to read a sex scene or two, but as an under 18, no unmitigated smut please. Besides, I'm no expert on smut ; I'd be no use as a beta reader. On me ... well, I've been an avid reader for as long as I can remember. I've read a bit of everything from Louis de Bernieres (brilliant) to Tolstoy (has his moments) to Rebecca Wells (READ 'The Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya sisterhood and prepare to cry) to Kathy Reichs (love a good murder...). I print out everthing I proof and my kids tend to see it so I can't have those kind of things around my home. Mild adult fiction is ok so long as it is not crude and overused. I really would prefer just regular stories be they romance or not. Though I like the romance better. I will read everything objectivly and you can take or leave my opinion, I won't be offended. | Additional Comments: | I'm hugely busy, so if you don't mind a long turn-around on a story, then I'm you're gal... I am hugely uninterested, however, in PWPs ("Plot? What Plot?" adult-oriented stories), Alternate-universes that stray from the series in major ways (such as re-casting the characters as historical figures), and parodies, so be warned. I have been writing fanfic since age 11, have a BA in Creative Writing, have been a fan of all 4 Trek series, and have a fair number of Trek reference books. I have missed a few Voyager eps in the last year, and a few dozen Deep Space Nine in the past 3 years, but I am fairly up-to-date. My grammar and spelling are better than most, and I am, frankly, much better at line editing others fiction as opposed to mine own.
