LOU Christie) who had some other bigger hits, do you remember??? "Lightening Striking Again" & again, & again,... thanks for your hustle,... | Comments: | I have been looking for a song forever. It was a Country/Western, cannot remember the artist, and was a Christmas song of sorts. We were in Germany fighting the Germans. Both sides were in fox holes, was Christmas eve and the Eastern star was seen. Our troops began to sing Silent Night and the Germans stood up as did our trops. The Germans sang it in German. After the song, both sides hunkered down in their fox holes and began fighting again. Was such an awesome song and I use to have it but has disappeared. Enjoy your sight and all of the songs. I had a quartet in high school, we sang all over town. We graduated in 1940 a class of 76 from Stow High school. The war years seperated us as a class, but we have kept in touch all these years. There are 21 of us ages 88,89,and 90. We no longer can travel back to Stow for reunions, but I have kept in touch with all of them by phone. I talk to all of them by phone at least 4 times a week. When I hear some of your golden oldies from my youth it brings back some forgoten memory, and I make another phone call. I live in Tucson Az. now but 16 of them still live in Ohio. Thank you for the memories.

There 25 of us left and I talk to each one of them four times a year. Some of us have known each other for 82 years having started school in the first grade together. Six of us married our high school sweethearts all of us have lost the love of our life . Many of us served in the Military. I flew in WWII, Korea, Viet Nam. I retired after 28 years.
During all of the years I have kept track of all 76 class mates. 18 live in our home town,and seven are spread over the whole country. Every other wednesday a group of them get together for coffee at the old hang out. We no longer have reunions because many are in assisted living. Could you find the song (Pals of the little School) Words are: Where are my pals of that little Red school? Play mates like Jimmy and Jane. New pals may come and new pals may go, but the Memory of old ones remain. Let me go back to that quaint little Shack Where I learned the greaat golden rule. You know that I've had 49 surgeries, but one of the things I choose to do that maybe you might care to do also is this. Just before you go into surgery, you usually see your surgeon and your anesthesiologist. If you can, take them aside, individually, and ask if you can say a prayer with them. I have never been turned down, and to the contrary, I have been thanked for thinking of praying for THEM! In my prayer, I simply acknowledge God's presence in the doctor's hands, mind, body, and spirit, that they work in unison for a successful surgery, and that I thank the doctors for BEING. And an Amen ends that simple prayer. And I will tell you that when your surgery is over, and you are in Recovery, you will feel an instant calm as He holds you safely in the palm of His hands.
