Comments:Hallo penpallers!
I am an Italian girl aged 30 (uh-oh! That sounds odd, since I still look like little elder than a teen!), an avid penpaller, a bookworm and a blogger! I recently started a blog I especially dedicate to penpalling. The project is described in the first entry you find at the link published above. Penpals who want to share their idea of penpalling should send me a snail mail where they write about their idea of penpalling, how they do write their letters, what they talk about in their snail mail. They can tell me about their penpals and if they ever met any of them. Of course they can write about their early starts as a penpal. Photos can be included in the snail mail as well if wanted. I will take photos of the letters I receive and write entries for each one of the snail mail I receive for fellow penpallers to read.
I think it is an interesting project for those who, like me, are fond of penpalling and it's a perfect mean to find new pals also. If you provide me with an email adresse or any social network contact I will add it to the entry and people who are willing to start a penpalship with you can directly contact you from there!
So are you interested in my project at all?! want a place in my blog? do contact me and I will tell you more about it all!

Comments:Looking for only one or two new penpals. I like to spend time on writing a letter to a good (or a new) friend. My letters range between 10 to 40 pages & usually include photos, packets of tea or coffee, regional sweets, drawings from my children, postcards, etc. I like to blog about mail art (sent and received).

I'm married, with two kids. I work full time & I volunteer. If I'm not working, cooking, or cleaning house, I'm writing and knitting. We have a cat & dog (noted for allergies). I'm in my mid 20s. I have stretched earlobes & a number of tattoos. I do have a black sense of humor & rarely get offended. I work in customer service, so I am quite friendly and personable. I love scented candles & yoga.

Comments:i'm V. and i'm a 24 year old (currently) unemployed young girl from Portugal. I have many hobbies and interests. I love reading and writing, watching movies, talk for hours and exchanging letters. It's always such a thrill to open the traditional mailbox and get a thick envelope!

i would prefer snail mail but i would be happy to start a conversation through email. i'm really looking forward for a penpal, since i stopped writing letters a while ago and i have plenty of time and will to start over! (i've been exchanging letters because i posted an ad in another website, but it's very hard to find truthful penpals these days...)

i'm not one of those who stop writing without warning and i'm not looking for a boyfriend. i'm certainly not looking forward to have a lot of spam emails either.

i just hope i can get to meet honest and friendly young people from all over the world =) specially people who enjoy writing and think about it not as a hobby but has a job! if you like writing and when you were young you used to answer that famous question "what do you want to do when you grow up" with "writer" and than you people would reply "oh... and what else?" (or something like that)... you know what i'm talking about.

i really enjoy sharing experiences and thoughts about everything and i consider myself open-minded. i don't think there's any subject i won't talk about (unless the conversation doesn't sound proper or something) and i think it's healthy to discuss and gather other points of view.

i hope to find good friends soon.

see you!

Comments:Hi there,

I'm 25 years old, living with my partner of three years and our cat (who is sadly still without a name!) in Bristol, UK. I'm studying for a PhD. Because my research is in the environmental sciences and I have previously worked as a consultant for an engineering company, it has been a long time since I have really written anything creative / for fun or enjoyment. Or even anything particularly non-scientific or non-technical. I had a couple of pen pals when I was a child, but that kind of fizzled out and I would LOVE to get back into letter writing (especially snail mail) and make some new friends.

My life often gets quite busy so I can't promise to respond immediately to each letter, but I will definitely promise to do my best, and I will put plenty of thought into my letters!

Alongside my PhD I am doing a distance learning course in proofreading and editing, I proofread for my university newspaper, sing in a choir (although am into other types of music than just classical / choral), am interested in photography and cooking, and love to read, mainly novels but also some non-fiction.

I would describe myself as an atheist, and although I do enjoy discussing religion, I'm not looking for someone to try and convert me! I only say this now because I wouldn't want to get into any arguments, and matters of rationality, human rights and equality are very important to me. Please don't let this put you off though! I'm happy to hear from anyone :)

So, if you think you would enjoy exchanging letters please do send me an email and we can either write by email or exchange postal address if you prefer.

English is my first and pretty much only language - I have some sketchy French that I'd be more than willing to try out but I wouldn't want to rely on it!

I've not done this before, but I do hope it works out. I look forward to hearing from some lovely new people!

I am looking for a special penpal ...for a good friend through letters, from far away or near from Germany.
Would be wonderful to hear from other young mommies, but also from women without kids, it doenst matter!
I want to share all things together with you...funny and sad things, daily things, family things, thoughts, speaking about books, movies, what you have done the last days, ask questions, answer them,....
I like to write long letters(a few pages...or lots more... would be fantastic) and for me its very important to be in contact regulary...that means all few weeks and maybe about email, SMS or things like that...like a friend. I know life can be stressful and sometimes its not always time for writing letters but then it would be fantastic to write a postcard or a short mail.
And like I write before I am looking for a longterm penpal...I hope that we can write letters since we are old and wrinkle! Thats my biggest dream!
I love to write on cute stationary and like to send small goodies, like stickers, candy, teabags from time to time.
So, when you also look for this...for a friend for lifetime... and you think that we can click, please write me a mail with some informations about you!
I cant wait to hear from you soon!

Name: Caroline
E-mail address: EAM@lavabit.com
Comments:Hello,

I hope you don't mind me asking, I need a girls opinion. My gf Caroline is 22 and I'm 26 and we are very much in love .. Sadly Im probably going to do 10 years prison sentence soon for a DWI car accident that resulted in serious injuries of passengers. Im terribly afraid that if I get the 10 years without parole this would probably be too much to ask of her to stay with me since she is still so young and has so much life ahead of her .. yet it breaks my heart to let her go.
We are currently living together and have been doing so for the past 3 years. From a girls perspective, how long do you believe is "too long for her to wait 100% faithfully both physically and emotionally?

Caroline and I have already had a couple of talks about this. Caroline has sworn to stand by me and promises up and down that she will wait for me completely, no matter how long it takes or how hard it gets. But I know that it is one thing to be devoted, loyal and faithful when in a normal loving relationship, but something else altogether when dealt with a devastating blow such as the one we are facing.

She's definitely a good girl but 10 years is a long time. So I don't know what Caroline might do, she'll get lonely and depressed and that could put her in a more vulnerable condition and make her do things she might not do if I was around. Women cheat for both emotional and physical reasons but I most of the time it starts with emotional cheating then leads to the physical. And this is all because of the lack of emotional affection when a mate is incarcerated. I don't want to put her on a pedestal and then she her slip up and have all these guilt trips but at the same time I can't stand her having a sex buddy" or "dating around" or even a one night stand shell fall for the guy. She's a girl good but being realistic I know if I got a long sentence (max 10 years) odds are she won't be able to go that long without a man, regardless of how much she loves me.
I don't know about you but most young attractive girls like Caroline can't go 10 years without sex and it just pains me to think she might cheat. I know shell get hit on by guys all the time and when Im locked up shell be lonely and really tempted. Do you think it would be better if I allowed her to have a guy on the side but set some ground rules? Like for example if I told her to make sure to keep it just sex, and dont fall in love, always use protection and dont get pregnant, make sure it is not someone I know, to have some respect for herself and keep it discreet and dont let it get back to me, etc?

What do you think it is that breaks a girlfriends spirit? Is it the lack of sex and physical passion or the absence of emotional closeness and intimacy? Is there any possible way I could love her spiritually in a way that could make up for the absence of physical love? Maybe if I trusted her unconditionally shell have a better chance living up to those good intentions? If your boyfriend loved you more than life itself could you wait for ten years and be totally faithful and abstinent for him? .. Please, Id really like to hear back from you. Thanks.

Comments:I am a 24-year-old student from Germany, looking for a handful of reliable, genuine and open-minded snail mail and e-mail pals.

Do you wish to find a true friend via letters, someone you will still be writing to in a few years? Someone you can share everything with, your everyday life, your thoughts, your experiences, your dreams, what makes you laugh and what makes you cry? This is what I am searching for, although I know it is hard to find a close friend via letters and e-mails nowadays.

Im interested in getting to know who you really are, therefore Id love to find someone who is willing to share deeper conversations with me instead of talking about the weather and what you had for lunch. ; ) Im pretty open about myself and I dont have anything to hide, so if we are to become friends, I hope you also feel like talking about anything and everything with me. I enjoy listening to other peoples stories and I always lend a shoulder to cry on if needed.

Honestly, I dont care about sharing all the same interests and views on life, the only thing that matters to me is that you value the same things in a friendship like I do: honesty, tolerance, respect, reliability and open-mindness. It makes no sense to me to write to someone who as the same hobbies if this person has a totally different understanding of friendship.
Nevertheless, maybe you share some of my interests: music, videogames, languages, books, writing, animals, psychology, US TV shows (Queer as folk, LOST, Desperate Housewives..), foreign countries (Japan ♥), Greek myths, etc.

Writing letters and e-mails means having an actual conversation in form of some kind of dialogue to me, that means not only reading what the other person has written, but also to respond to it, to give advice, to ask further questions. Otherwise it will be difficult to maintain a good conversation, dont you think?
I enjoy writing and receiving long and chatty letters and e-mails, I usually write about 10-20 pages when I feel close to a friend. Do you know this feeling when the words just flow and you dont even notice that youve already written 10 pages or more? : ) Its wonderful and I hope to find someone who will inspire me to write little novels.
Nevertheless, I value quality over quantity, so I dont care about the lenght of a letter as long as I enjoy reading its content.

Since my life as a student eats up a lot of my time, I dont expect you to write to me every week, as I cant offer such a very quick reply myself. However, a frequent exchange of letters and mails is important to me, otherwise we will certainly remain strangers to each other.

Im especially searching for Japanese and English nativespeakers, because Id like to improve my language skills, but everyone else is very welcome to send me a message as well. : )

If you are still reading now, it probably means that we will click and that we should give it a try, what do you think? : )

Name: Pen Pal
E-mail address: cloudpillow@live.com
Comments:Hello! I am in search of a few like-minded pen pals with whom to write letters and share correspondence. Someone who epitomizes the qualitative attributes of kindness, empathy, emotional depth, and introspection. Perhaps a pen pal who has the capacity to be or become profoundly moved by the sublime compelling pleasures of the softer more aesthetically experiential and gingerly ethereal aspects of life. A person whom, like me, considers themselves a socialable introvert. One who enjoys the serene solace of holistic solitude and all the existentially nostalgic and forlornly reminiscent qualia that emerges from being alone in an inner-world with just the comfort of ones own thoughts; yet also one who derives immense happiness and satisfaction from basking in the mystical immersiveness of an engrossing dyadic interpersonal connection. It is exceedingly rare to find these dichotomies and dualities so intermingled and juxtaposed within a singular individual.

Life ultimately boils down to intimate and subjective emotional experiences. Yet it is the myriad collection of the combined exploratory process of discovering the actual distinct and unique impressions-of-pleasure and their resultant affective neural-correlates-of-consciousness that truly give rise to the fervent notion and conviction of knowing what life is all about.

Life imitates art. In pen-paling, as in life, we have locked deep within us the concept and notion of the ideally perfect form of written correspondence. We have these projections derived from our imprinted wants and wishes of what we believe to be the idealistic archetypal-templates of such an entity or categorical-perception. Wherever you go, there you are. The teleological journey, and perhaps the final end-point destination, is to seek out and relish all that we each deem to be most salient and most special and rare fantasy becomes our dreams conjured into reality as illusion and truth collide and our most cherished notions are at long last instantiated, embodied and beheld.

While involvement is better than analysis and life better than writing about life, I believe the traditional art of pen-paling within the context of the reductive and translative abstraction of written language allows us to experience innumerable forms of diverse and resplendent emotionally exhilarating moments through that of vicarious empathy, albeit in a somewhat different way.

If you feel like Im someone you might want to write with, I may like to hear from you. ( cloudpillow@live.com )

Lately, I got the idea that maybe pen pals would be a great way for my clients to have a meaningful reationship, and because most have very litte income, handwritten letters would be the best way to go. So if anyone out there would like to be a friend to someone in need and would be able to look past the diagnosis to the person, please email me a litte bit about yourself and your address. Email me even if you just have questions or are curious. Thanks!

My name's Valerie. I'm 24 turning 25 in august. I'll get married in september 2011 and I come from French part of Switzerland. I can speak italian, to because I was born in italian part of Switzerland. I learnt English and German at school but I didn't practice anymore. So, I hope my english isn't to catastrophic ;o)

I'm a nurse. I work in a care facility that welcomes seniors because they can no longer live at home. It is hard but interesting work.
Anyway I think that if I could make another job , I would work in a travel agency. Indeed, 2 of my biggest hobbies are traveling and taking photograph. Otherwise, I like another classic things like hanging out with my friends, sharing time with my family, cooking (I love it very much and I love sharing new recipes), gardening, writing letters, walking, dancing, drawing, watching movies, going to visit museums and zoos (I also love animals), learning about new things... and so on.

I like laughing and sometime being ridiculous because I'm a simply person who likes live with simple things. I'am open mind so I think it's not important to have the same hobbies or same interests. Indeed, it's the best way to discover new things ;o)

I'd like find a true-sincere and long-lasting friendship to exchange about differents topics, about daily life and hapiness and sorrows. I like writing a lot of pages because I can't tell something without explainations ;o). I like join pictures, maps... . I'm often frustrated to send a letter to someone and he disappear... Anyway, I like snail mail very much and I really hope to correspond for longtime to get to know better the person who is interested to exchange letters and e-mail with me :0)

So, if something in this post interests you, and you'd like to know more about me or my country, don't hesitate to drop me a line, I will be very happy to answer you ;0)

Comments:My name is Katie and I'm twenty six years old. I live in (not so sunny currently) northern California and have lived here my entire life. Sometimes I get the urge to pack up and leave, but I never do -- I've been here too long to leave. It's home and it always will be. In all honesty, I'm pretty much a homebody. I like to be with my family and friends, relaxing and having a good time. I'm laid back, sweet and genuine. I've been through hell and back but I've only let my experiences make me stronger.

I'm a full time college student majoring in early childhood education with a goal to become a pre-school teacher. I currently work as a nanny for three girls in the area. When I'm not working or doing homework, you can find me with my family and friends. I teach Confirmation once a month over at my church and will start a jr high youth group this upcoming fall. I love working with kids, it's so rewarding.

I'm a jeans and t-shirt kind of girl and the most makeup I will wear is some mascara, eye shadow and maybe foundation. I'm a tomboy. I love being outdoors, I love to kick a soccer ball around with friends or just chase my cousins around. I watch way too much television for my own good, but that's okay. My favorite shows are: Deadliest Catch, I (almost) Got Away With It, Project Runway, Sister Wives and many more. I can generally find something on television that interests me. Same with movies... I am currently watching Harry Potter. :)

As for what I'm looking for in a penpal.... someone who is kind, genuine and caring. Someone who understands that life can get in the way, but if we have a strong friendship that we'll still be in touch. Someone who will write long letters back and forth with me, someone I can build a friendship with. Age doesn't matter as long as the two of us feel comfortable writing each other, but I'd like a couple pals my age so we can talk about our life and where things are at this stage in our lives.

I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to have a few very long letter penpals! I mean long... taping up the envelope just to close it. Time between letters doesn't matter, just as long as we have each other.

I am an open book when it comes to writing letters.. I want to make friends.

International is fine, but only a couple because money is tight -- and in the US is fine, too.

I'm really looking forward to getting to know you. Please e-mail me at: katieranders@gmail.com if you want to be pals.

E-mail address: kayler00@gmail.com
Comments:Hi! My name is Kayla. I'm 20 years old (21 on September 18th!) I live in Maine, USA with my boyfriend of almost two years, Max & our 17 year old siamese cat, Simon.

I'm a Grocery Stock girl at Shop N Save. We are going through a Boss change so it's pretty exciting at work. I don't dislike my job but I strongly dislike the people who I work with, most of them anyways. I've had bad back problem since I was 12 and being in Grocery means that I do a lot of physically demanding work. Max works for his father, who is a jack of all trades. He does a lot of different things but he is mainly a Kernal in the Army & a registered Maine Guide. He takes people hunting (Moose, Bear, Deer, Turkey ETC) and gets paid a lot of big bucks to do so. Max wants to take over his business sometime in the future so Max is working for him so he can learn how to run it when he needs to.

I don't have much friends. I partied a lot a few years ago, tried everything more than once & got sick of quick. I'm more reserved now, and I like to stay at home with a nice letter & watch my favorite TV show. I always joke that Max & I are an old married couple. =P Despite the fact that I don't have much friends I'm pretty happy with my life. I get along great with my family, my boyfriend is great and is my best friend. I also have a few really close friends that I hang out with occasionally.

I've penpalled since I was 12. I LOVE it. Penpalling is really soothing for me. I have a lot of anxiety and a smidge of depression so writing really helps me get lost & I love finding a true friend, as well. I wrote LONG letters. And when I say LONG I really do mean long. My letters are usually are mini novels. They are never shorter than 20 pages (front & back) if it's anything less than that normally it's because I just don't click with the person and in the end we probably wouldn't make great pals. I really get lost in a letter I recieve. I talk a lot, and love to share all about life's trials & tribulations. I've had an exciting life I think and I like to share it. Although, my past was much more exciting than it is now! =)

So, when I say I'm looking for LONG letter penpals (FEMALES ONLY - WORLD WIDE!) I really do mean that. I write back in a timely manner and I always read your letter & respond to it. What is up with people getting a letter and not even answering the questions you ask or even ASKING any? Blah! Waste of postage, and well ... TIME! I don't want you to force a long letter out, so if you're not a long letter writer than - we probably won't be good penpals. I also love to send little surprises, birthday cards & gifts, christmas cards & gifts - so if you do that too, that would be amazing! =)

Comments:Hello everyone out there in Pen-Pal land.;)

Let me give you a quick introduction. My name is Tay, 30 yrs old and in search of a pen-pal. Not just any pen-pal.. I'm looking for a creative soul, that is interested in making a lasting friendship and not dropping out after two letters.

Could this be you? I hope it is.

(Self) Described as: The girl next door with a big heart that suffers from a huge bout of curiosity that often times gets her into trouble and leads her into mysterious adventures.

I have deep seeded love for Coffee, especially anything involving the words mocha or hazelnut. Nothing good can happen without a cup of Joe to get me going in the morning.

I am Bi-Sexual and Bi Polar. Isnt that kind of funny?

Translated: Im an emotional disaster area that is married to beautiful woman who picks me up when Im down and never gives me up on me when others have. An angel in disguise, maybe hmmm...

I am a self-proclaimed child of the 80s. I see no shame in stating that I am in love with decade I descended from. Whats wrong with the decade that gave such Pop Culture gems like Transformers, Strawberry Shortcake, Friday the 13th, Nintendo, Bon Jovi, John Hughes flicks and U2? I have a soft spot in my heart for the 90s too.

I am a writer at heart. Ever since I was able to master keeping a pencil in my hand, I have written. For many years, I have kept journals and to date I have completed around 12 full journals that are now taking up room in my storage unit. Hoping one day for me to come by, dust them off and re-visit them. My old friends.

I love to read graphic novels. I think that they are these brilliant novels that are just amazing to behold. I have a soft spot in my heart for The Killing Joke, V for Vendetta and Watchmen by Alan Moore.

In terms of Books, I adore the dark humor of Christopher Moore, the punk sensibility of Poppy Z Brite, the vampire eroticism of Anne Rice and the beauty of Neil Gaiman.

MUSIC: Music is my everything. It soothes my savage beast, it makes me chuckle with child-like wonder, cry like a baby or bring out my inner rock goddess that does a mean air guitar in the privacy of her bedroom.

I love most genres, although Country and I don't seem to get along with one another.

My Favorites are: Depeche Mode, The Black Keys, Peter Gabriel, Queen, Garbage, Oingo Boingo, RUN DMC, Kate Bush, Danny Elfman, Alice Cooper, Bill Withers, Marilyn Manson, Nick Cave, Al Green, Adam Ant, Rob Zombie, Nine Inch Nails, Peter Murphy, Blondie, Sisters of Mercy, Garbage, She Wants Revenge, New Order, Dead Can Dance, IAMX, Cocteau Twins, Dr. Dre, Tori Amos, DJ Shadow, Elbow, Echo and the Bunnymen, Within Temptation, Eminem, Johnny Cash, Humanwine, Amy Lee, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Tom Petty, Billy Joel, Aerosmith, Elton Joel, Duran Duran, The Clash, The Smiths, The Cure, Faith No More, Lovage, Abney Park, Dresden Dolls, Vermillion Lies, Dr. Steel, Weird Al, David Bowie, Bob Marley, Roxy Music, Pink Floyd, Alice in Chains, Tones on Tail, Rob Dougan, The Ramones, Mos Def, Nate Dogg, Kelis, Mary J Blige, Missy Elliot, X, Orbital, Chemical Brothers, Delerium, Dark Sanctuary, Kerli, Maroon 5,Portishead, Massive Attack, New Order, Joy Division, Gary Numan, B 52's, The Who, Talk Talk, Verian Process, Bauhaus, Billy Idol, System of Down, Collide, Art of Noise, Supertramp, The Police, Talking Heads, The Violent Femmes, Rainbow, Dio, OMD, ELO, Led Zeppelin, Them Crooked Vultures, Iggy Pop, Placebo, Soft Cell, The Killers, Ministry, Orgy, Madonna, Pearl Jam, Michael Buble, Motley Crue, Bon Jovi, Samuel Barber, Sarah Brightman, Def Leppard, Concrete Blond, Leonard Cohen,Tom Waits, Buddy Holly, Primus, Pulp, Chris Vrenna, The Cranes, Creature Feature, Devo, Foo fighters, Pet Shop Boys, Linkin Park, Birthday Massacre, etc

PENPAL QUESTIONS
HOW LONG ARE YOUR LETTERS?
Depends on my moods. Usually you should expect a good 3 to 5 paper letters. More if we click and have tons to talk about.

DO YOU TYPE OR HANDWRITE?
Both. I love and adore the authenticity of handwritten letter because it gives a peek into that person. A personal touch. But due to damage done to my writing wrist, writing long letters with a pen make them go numb sometimes. I switch between the two.

I dont mind either.

WHO DO YOU NOT WANT TO WRITE YOU:
(Sorry that this part has be here, but in the past I had issues with people so it needs to be said.)

* I will not reply to any requests of romance. (Im married.) Prison mail or Money Requests.
* Anyone who is closed minded, homophobic, or wants to push their religious/political agenda down my throat. Its not cool. I dont appreciate it.
* Anyone who will quit writing after the first couple of letters or writes a simple paragraph and calls that a letter. Its not and it feels unbalanced when Im sending you 3+ page letters.

WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FOR IN A PENPAL?
* Beautifully creative souls that believe in the art of having a Pen Pal.
* People that arent afraid to let their inner geek child show. If you are a LOTR nerd, embrace it. IF your horror movie freak, share your favorites with me.
* I would prefer writing to those within the US, because its easier for me to write on a continuous basis.
With that said, I would love to write to anyone in the UK. I have been absolutely in love with country for many years and hope one day to visit it. Perhaps for the right friend, Ill fight for the extra postage.
* I'd like others that suffer from mental illness such as Bi-Polar and Depression to write me. I would love to hear your stories about how you learned to deal with it.
* I invite anyone that is apart of the LBGT Community to write. I want to hear about experience's.
* I also require you to write the first letter. I have never been good at going first at anything whether its Dodge ball or Pen Pal writing, so I leave the ball in your court. I have written too many first letters to never get a response back.

USUALLY, HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE FOR YOU TO REPLY TO A LETTER?
Depending on life, anywhere from a week or two. Long letters are awesome to get, but they take time to write. At least, the good ones anyways.

WHAT AGE WOULD YOU LIKE YOUR PENPAL TO BE?
Im aiming for the 24 and up box.

WOULD YOU LIKE THEM TO BE MALE OF FEMALE?
Female.

WHERE WOULD YOU LIKE THEM TO BE FROM?
Anywhere that isnt California. I know about California already.
Time to move on and learn about something else.

So after reading all that madness above, and you still find me entertaining and interesting, please feel free to e-mail me.

Comments:Hello!
And nice to meet you all!
My name is Sasha and I`m 26 y.o. Russian girl. From my childhood I`ve been used to have penpals from all around a World! It was my favorite hobby. Now, because of different reasons I`ve only few pen-friends (who are very-very important for me), and I`d like to find some more. I`m looking for friends who still are old-fashioned and love to write long HAND-WRITING letters (I NEVER type the mines because I really don`t see a big difference between taped letters and emails, who are much faster), who are sincere and open-minded, no metter the age and the native country.
I`ve many different interests. I`m working et school and I`m fond of it; I`m a volunteer in 2 organisations and this activity is very important for me. I like reading (one of my favorite books is Anne of Green Gables), singing, playing piano, spending time with children, travelling, learning languages (vous pouvez m`ecrire aussi en Francais), doing craft-activities.. I`m interested in the medicine, history, aviation, religion
Well, I don`t think that I should write something else here If you`re looking for a long-term pen-friendship, please contact me via email and we`ll share post addresses!

I`m waiting for your letters!!!!

Comments:My name is Amber. I'm a 24 year old Canadian knitter (got to knit at least 4 layers to stay warm). :P

I turn 25 in April, something I'm inexplicably excited about. I have two daughters (ages 3 and 5), a shih-tsu named Daisy & a boyfriend who models/programs Quake in his spare time. I work full time (middle mgmt in retail) & plan on finishing my courses for Business Administration. I have a 1.5 year old set of dreadlocks, which are well-maintained since I work with people on a daily basis. I also have 1/2" earlobes. No one really notices the ears since I'm usually wearing solid plugs. The hollow plugs tend to make people stare.

If I were to hoard anything, it would be yarn and knitting supplies. I've resolved to stop buying yarn until I have 2-3 skeins left (thank you 101/1001 project). I tend to knit when I watch horror movies & Supernatural (♥ Castiel). Regarding reading, I have a soft spot for chick-lit fiction (red dress ink), harrowing non-fiction (human experimentation, history) & the ridiculous (paranormal). As for music, I like everything. Dr Hook, VNV Nation, Tool, Concrete Blonde, Bee Gees, Front Line Assembly, James Blunt, The Dresden Dolls, Alan Jackson, Trivium, and so forth.

I am seeking a female penpal, preferably between the ages of 20 and 103. Someone who has the ambition to write more than two pages of the weather (a paragraph is fantastic, though), and is openminded. I like chatty letters, but over time I've found the superlong (15+ pages) letters take ages to reply to. I hope to get replies out within 2-3 days of recieving a letter, not 1-2 weeks. Heh. My letters average 5-10 pages, usually double-sided. I like to stick random items in the envelopes; usually tea, sticker sheets, "letters" (drawings) from my children, small knitted or crocheted items, birthday cards if the time calls for one, spare pages of writing paper, and so on. Occasionally, I would love to swap small packages. Only once I know what my penpal likes, of course.

Comments:Age: 29
Birthday: 8/10/81
Gender: Female
Location: New Britain, CT
Single. No kids. One dog.
Just because I have no kids or no man/woman (I am bisexual), I do not mind hearing about them, so feel free.
I would also like to say that I am incredibly open minded, and do not think someone hyper-religious would approve.

Additional note: If we were pen pals before, and I disappeared, please give me a chance. Know that my life had taken some major changes in 2010, and I am a new person, for better or worse, and would like to begin pen palling again.

Religion: N/A
Language: English only
Interests: knitting, cooking/baking, watching movies, reading, Netflix
Music: It would take forever to list everything in my mp3 player at the moment. I'm always looking for someone new...so feel free to send me a message that simply reads "check this band out"...but I will google any artist you mention and will give it a listen.
Movies: to list them all would take forever...PLAYING BY HEART, BROKEN HEARTS CLUB, BEST MEN----not THE BEST MAN...big difference, SWEETHEARTS, GIRL INTERRUPTED, GIRL, AMERICAN BEAUTY, AMERICAN PIE (the first one), HARRY POTTER (all of them), LIFE AS A HOUSE, MYSTIC RIVER, THE PRINCESS BRIDE, THE NEVER ENDING STORY, LABRYNTH, HOW TO MAKE AN AMERICAN QUILT, STEELE MAGNOLIAS, STELLA, PETER PAN, BEACHES, REALITY BITES, HIGH FIDELITY, CHASING AMY, JERSEY GIRL, DOGMA, HI FIDELITY, CATCH AND RELEASE, SHREK, LILO AND STITCH, RENT, AVATAR, THE LAST SONG, NICK AND NORAH'S INFINITE PLAYLIST, EASY A, GOING THE DISTANCE.
Books: : STIR-FRY, FACE AT THE EDGE OF THE WORLD, LOSING IT, THE FUCK-UP, THE HOTTEST STATE, I HOPE THEY SERVE BEER IN HELL, WORD FREAK, REMEMBERING BLUE, JEMIMA J , SUMMER SISTER, PINK SLIP, GOOD IN BED, LIFE IN THE FAT LANE, THE PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER, anything by Debbie Macomber---but especially the BLOSSOM STREET and CEDAR COVE series, an array of cheesy teen novels, anything by Nicholas Sparks, anything by Jane Green, anything by Arthur Nersisian (although it must be said that Nersisian is an amazing writer but an absolute douche in person), anything by Scott Westerfield, the TWLIGHT saga, the HARRY POTTER books (especially the fifth one). I tend to read about three or four books a week, although ths year it's a lot less. If you're interesed, at the moment I am reading Tucker Max's new book A**HOLES FINISH FIRST. So far, pretty classic Tucker Max.
TV: I don't watch TV, yet, at the same time, I am addicted to certain shows, most of which are no longer on the air anymore. Thank goodness, again, for Netflix. I just finished Season 1 of "Parenthood", which I loved...can't wait for Season 2 to end so it becomes available. "Drop Dead Diva" and "Gilmore Girls" are other favorites..."ER" (every season) is at my local library, and I keep saying that'll be my way of dealing with the snow if I don't find a new job before I get to watch it all. However, next on my list for TV shows is actually "Ugly Betty". If I do actually watch TV, it's usually stuff like "How I Met Your Mother", "Big Bang Theory"...and I am dying for the day when all the seasons of "Cold Case" become available on DVD.

Handwrite/Typing: I have to handwrite at the moment, as I don't have a printer, but I don't mind either...it actually takes me longer to handwrite mainly because I am recovering from a neuro disorder that makes writing hard.
Length of Letters: at least three pages, double sided
Sending Gifts: I am broke right now...which is why I can only have US pen pals. Therefore, I won't be sending much other then letters right now, but if we get to that point, it's all good.
Time till Response: at most a week
Age of Penpal: over 18 please
Male/Female: either is fine by me
Where Do You Want Them To Be From?: US only
How Long Have You Been Penpaling?: on and off since I was 8
How Many Do You Want?: 3, maybe 4...I don't know yet.
What Are You Looking For In a Penpal?: Someone who I can relate to...yes, it's very important to me that we have something, anything, in common. Be it crafting, reading, movies, string of bad relationships we can vent about, camping...anything. I just want someone to talk to, and who will talk back.

Comments:Hey Everyone! My name is Kayla, I'm 20 & I'm from Maine. I live with my boyfriend of almost 2 years & siamese cat, Simon. I work at a local grocery store as a stock girl. And I am looking for some new LADY penpals who write LONG letters. I have noticed penpalling has diminished since I first started writing, which was when I was about 12. I know there are still SOME people out there though that still write and I am trying to find them! My letters are never usually under 8 pages long. I am very chatty, I ramble quite often. I listen & I love to give advice. I am truly interested in being friends with my penpals so I ask questions and expect someone else to be interested in me & what I have to say.

I know life gets busy, so when there are days we cannot write letters that is what Email & Facebook come in handy for! Send me a quick text, or email or SOMETHING telling me what's up! Or atleast you are still alive. SO many people now a days just don't even care, it's like what's the point of being penpals - What's the point of being FRIENDS? If I am writing someone a letter I don't want to not hear from them after 2 months of exchanging letters, what the hell is up with that? =)

I love shopping, movies, music, scrapbooking, writing, couponing, photography. I don't do much now a days, mostly working & coming home snuggling up on the couch with my boyfriend. But the days I don't have anything to do I love sitting at the kitchen table with a letter or strecthing out on the couch & replying back to one. If someone is reading this & wants to be penpals email me! I will be awaiting an email and possibly a letter. I want more than just bills & flyers in my mail box! =) USA only please.

Comments:Three macho mice are sitting at a bar discussing just how tough they were. The first mouse slams a shot and says: "I play with mouse traps for fun. I'll run into one on purpose and as it is closing on me, I grab the bar and bench press it 20 to 30 times." And, with that, he slams another shot.
The second mouse slams a shot and says: "That's nothing. I take those poison bait tablets, cut them up, and snort them, just for the fun of it." And, with that, he slams another shot.
The third mouse slams a shot, gets up, and turns to walk away.
"Where the hell do you think you're going?" ask his friends.
The third mouse stops and replies: "I'm going home to shag the cat."

Ok now that the ice is broken let me tell you a little of the basics about me and what exactly I'm looking for in a penpal.

I'm situated in the emerald isle of Ireland and was dropped into this world in 1982 ( I'm 28! ).

My interests include creative writing,swapping art journals,paranormal,ancient civilisations,divination,conspiracy theories,vegetarianism,music,film,Egyptology,art,crafts,long letters,serial killers,animal rights,mailart,fantasy,myths/legends,storytelling,dreams, imaginative people,science,astronomy...

The sort of penpal I'm searching for is someone who is not afraid to speak their own mind and is in no way judgemental.I will definitely only reply to long letters. In the past I've had replies from people who stated that they only write long letters yet when I received their mail the envelope contained only a few words of mindless rubbish.A long letter to me is something that is 4 A4 (front and back) pages.I've often written 15-20+ pages to penpals I've had a real connection with.Writing letters is an ultimate passion of mind so please don't waste my time.

Any age welcome as long as you are female.

Now get your skates on and send me a message introducing yourself and what you can offer me being my penpal! If you contact me first you must be willing to write the first letter.

Comments:Hello from France ladies !
I am looking for sincere pen pal (or e-pal), I use to have pen pals when younger and life made that we lost touch, I'd like to find a sincere friend, because yes, my pen pals are my friends. I think it is very difficult to meet someone who'll not let you down after a while.
I am 28 y-o, I work a lot and in my free time, I like to take care of my pets, go for rides in the countryside, watch DVDs when it's raining outside with a good hot chocolate :), I also like to drink tea, coffee (not too strong), I am open-minded and believe in paranormal activities, I like tattoos and piercings, music, playing Farmville and video games (Super Mario only - you have to have limits haha)
That is me in a nutshell, not easy to introduce yourself like that, I lost the habit of penpalling so please bear with me haha
I don't mind where you are from, I just want someone around my age who is ready to share daily life thoughts, bad times and good times, all kind of stories and also I want to precise that I don't mind if you are straight, gay or bi, the color of your skin ... because friendship has no limit.
I hope to hear from you gals !!! :)

Name: Donna/44/F/USA
Comments:Hi. My name is Donna. I'm 44 y.o. (will be 45 August 20th). I'm a combination (some may say a contradiction) of realist/whimsical; funny/serious; simple/complex; caring/reserved; with an oftentimes dry sense of humor, and a nasty penchant for menthol cigars, dark wine and black coffee. lol. I'm kinda' reclusive; a minimalist; a Pantheist or a Panentheist (still trying to pin one down. lol- CAN ANYONE HELP ME? lol), both of them a belief and NOT a religion.

I'm a middle-aged woman in a financial/relationship/health crises! AND, can STILL laugh about it!!

I have three highly productive, intelligent, and patient {they put up with me!} adult children and one adorable, hyper-active grandson. I also have five children of the four-legged variety- all rescues (whom I will invariably tell you ALL about. lol) My pets are my heartbeat!

My hobbies/interests are; companion animal welfare & advocacy; vegetarian-ism; my beloved pets!; reading; intelligent, respectful written communication/dialogue; "The Amazing Race" (any more fans out there?); and simple/frugal living.

I'm seeking penfriends from the US & Internationally- regardless of age, color, location, religious beliefs (or lack thereof), and/or lifestyle choices. (Not sure about gender, because I have yet to meet a man that I can get along with! lol) Diversity is what makes the world interesting and respect SHOUD BE mutual. I highly dislike dogma/bigotry and believe that EVERY individual is perfectly capable of 'finding' his or her own 'path'.

Being the solitary person that I am, my penpals are MORE than just a hobby- they are my friends!

My address is;

Donna Coffey
488 Riverview Drive
Liberty, KY 42539
USA

Please write and let's become friends!

Comments:I'm a 23 year old Silversmith from the middle of the UK. I spend most of my days at my work bench (which is kind of the dream, no?) making silver jewellery/tableware. My business is a bit fledgling right now but I'm working on being self employed one day.

I also work in a mainstream bookshop, where I actually love awkward customers who don't know what to read next and get kind of Zen about the repetitive motions of shelving. Working there feeds my reading habit too and I'm always looking for the next novel that'll make me miss my stop on the train.

I'm compulsive doodler, beach-comber, urban tourist and generally pretty creative.

I'd very much like someone to share some everyday thoughts and impressions with, so do send me a message if you think you'd enjoy talking to me. I tend to handwrite my letters but don't insist on the same! xx

Comments:Hi everyone!! My name is Erin. I live in Oswego, NY. It is a busy tourist city in the summer time. Lots of things to do. I am 26 years old. I work as a veterinary technician. I absolutely love animals. They are a huge part of my life. It would be so dull without them. I have two dogs and two cats of my own. All rescues of course. My big heart sometimes gets the best of me! Some of my hobbies include exercising, cooking, baking, exchanging recipes movies, friends, reading, shopping, out door activities and much more. I have been dating a wonderful guy named, Bill, for two and a half years now.
I am a very easy going and talkative person. I love writing and receiving long letters. I understand that sometimes life gets in the way and the letters can't be as long as normal. I don't mind if you type or handwrite the letters. I normally handwrite mine. I sometimes swap recipes, stationary, FB's, stickers, stationary and other items with my pals. I don't do it with each letter nor do I expect my pals too. If you don't swap, that is completely fine with me.
I am looking for some long letter pals that love writing as much as I do. I want someone that will continue writing and not just stop after one letter. If you aren't interested in a long friendship please don't respond to this post. Any age, race, culture is fine by me. I am looking for meaningful friendships. If you are interested in being my pal send me an email and we can exchange addresses. I am looking forward to hearing from you. Have a great day.
