Comments:It's the little things in life that make me super happy.. naps, photo booths, climbing under a bunch of blankets on a cold night to watch silly TV shows, and definitely finding a new letter in my mail box! I've been penpalling for many years and have found that my small circle of snail mail friends are some of my closest, dearest friends.

I'm a 32 year old lawyer chick who just bought my very first home and hope that it will be the start of lots of life-changes and adventures. I'm looking for long letter pen friends, but more than that I'm looking to find lasting friendship! I'm not at all interested in swaps and FBs or meeting demands and deadlines. Just looking for that real deal connection here. Any country or culture is welcome. If you think we might get along, feel free to drop me an email and let's get the ball rolling!

Cheers and I look forward to connecting!

Comments:Looking for that one special pal, whom makes my heart flutter, cheers up my days and puts a huge smile on my face just by writing me. Someone with whom you can share, without holding back. A kindred soul, a best friend, someone whom provokes your thoughts.
What can I expect in return I can hear you think? All the above and much more. The much more translates into an experienced pen pal, long letters, regular writing, writing about a lot of different topics, black envelopes and cool stationary.
About me: day dreamer, baker, knitter, traveler, daughter, cat lover, perfectionist, photographer, fashion, reader, philosophy, communication, blogs, twitter, i-gadgets, friends, lattes, pastry, robust food, forests, walks, landscapes, silence, music, concerts, profound discussions, Kindle, soup, beads, fountain pens, sleeping long, Wallander, True Blood, Lukas Moodysson, Ken Loach, Neighbours, cafés, perfumes, scented candles, American candy – lifesavers and reeses pieces, magazines, nail polish, architecture, big cities, alternative life styles, tiny houses, … And this is when you catch me on a good day. On bad days I become quiet, moody, my shoulder aches, a wicked sense of sarcasm pops up and I try to use humor to make a bad situation better.
Feel free to contact me if the above appeals to you. Make your intro fun, quirky and interesting and please put “new pen pal” in the subject line.

Comments:I am interested in finding a penfriend or two. If you are just looking to add another pen"pal" to the list, please just skip right over my ad.

I first started letter writing when I was about 8, but have been an avid writer for ten years now.

I am looking for a friend. Someone genuinely interested in becoming friends through letter writing. Someone that has ideas, opinions, wonders about things, asks lots of questions, loves learning, loves to ramble on about nothing in particular and can talk about things of substance as well.

I am 36 yrs old. I am married and a mom to three girls. I talk about my daughters a lot as family is my life. I am a stay at home mom. I love to cook, bake, do crafts, read, write, watch movies, listen to music, learn about new things, new people, and new places. I love old buildings, beautiful architecture, I am interested in anatomy, psychology, I love the TV shows I do follow, I am a reality TV junkie...it is the whole train wreck thing I guess. I use "lol" way too often, can not stand bad grammar...even though I am a typo queen, am very open minded, pretty liberal, very non-judgmental, I tend to judge a book (an actual book) by its cover, love vampires and trashy vampire romance novels but love good hearty classics as well. I like to scrapbook digitally, blog and sew. I like horror movies, fruity scented candles, expensive perfumes, great music, kids playing and laughing, my husband is amazing and the love of my life. I am frequently silly and humorous, I have a sarcastic sense of humor most times, I am overall pretty happy but I have my bitchy moments...don't we all? I am just looking for a friend to share all of those things with :)

The only thing I ask is that you write first. If you can not write a long introductory letter I know we will not get far. I never understand people who do not know what to say... there is like 30 years or so you have to catch me up on! lol Seriously though...I would love to hear from someone that thinks we could be great long term friends!

Comments:Hi there! My name is Pearl, I'm 30 years old and a proud bisexual. I live in a small town in North Carolina with my parents and my Jack Russell Mix. In 2008, I was diganosis with Hydrocephalus. I also have Type 2 Diabetes.

I love to listen to music (especially Heavy Metal, Alternative Rock, Rap Rock, World Music, & Rap), watch television (huge fan of mob movies, sci-fi movies, Days Of Our LIves, Glee, Will & Grace, Queer As Folk, Ghost Hunters), writing, reading, cooking, spending time with my friends & family, making friends, the internet, sports, roleplaying, much more. I'm a huge fan of Adam Lambert, WWE's Chris Jericho, James Durbin & Drake. My favorite NFL teams are the NY Giants & the New Orlean Saints. I'm also a Jeff Gordon fan. I have a weird fascination with aliens, robots, the paranormal & ghosts. I'm a big supporter of the LGBT community and do my best to support them anyway I can.

I used to write to penpals when I was a teenager. I must've had like 25 pals, lol. I miss swapping letters. I'd love to connect with other bisexual women (ages 29 - 33 only) who love to write long letters, trade stuff (like friendship books & stickers) and who I can build a great friendship with. If you're interested in swapping letters with me; send me an email. :)

Name: Michelle
E-mail address: silentscribe@post.com
Comments:Hello! My name is Michelle, and I’m 37 years old. I’m originally from the East Coast of the USA, but I moved out here to the desert in Arizona several years ago. I have a few pen pals that I’ve been writing to for more then ten years (one for more then twenty), but many that have come and gone over the years. I would love to find a few more ladies who would like to become one of those lifelong friends. I’m looking for snail mail pals only, although I don’t mind exchanging quick e-mails or text messages on occasion.

I’m an animal lover who is owned by several cats. I have fish and other aquatic animals. I love to write fiction and letters, and am never without a book nearby. I’m a big fan of fantasy, but I’ll read pretty much anything. I like to draw, mostly portraits, but also a fantasy creature every so often. I have an ever growing postcard collection thanks to Postcrossing.com, and I also collect tumbled stones, incense, and tarot cards. I spend a lot of time online, mostly reading fanfic (I prefer slash, but like a lot of different fandoms). When it’s not too hot out, I like to go for long walks, or go hiking up in the mountains sometimes. (I’m terrified of heights, or I would go more often.)

I prefer television to movies, but really only watch a few shows each week: Glee, Supernatural, Criminal Minds and recently, The Walking Dead. When they air here, I also like Doctor Who and Merlin. And when they come out on DVD, I watch Dexter and True Blood. But, there are a few of those shows that I’m pretty obsessed with. (I also still love Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Smallville, even though they’re not on anymore.)

I would like to hear from anyone who thinks we’ll hit it off, but I would especially love to have pals who are pagan, do NaNoWriMo each year, or are from the following countries: Japan, India, Greece, Spain, anywhere in the Middle East, or anywhere in Africa.

I like to exchange postcards, and don’t mind swapping small things that will fit into an envelope (or larger things, on occasion). Please be willing to write the first letter. I type most of my letters due to an old injury, but don’t mind hand writing if you’re willing to wait a little extra time for me to reply. I don’t mind getting type-written letters myself, as long as they’re written just for me. I don’t send form letters, and don’t like to receive them. I realize “long letter” means different things to different people - my letters are usually four to ten typed pages, but it depends on what I have to reply to. I have one pal where we often exchange letters that are twenty pages, and I’ve written a few that were fifty or a hundred pages long. Anything is possible. ^_^

I don’t care about others race, religion or sexual orientation. If we were all the same, the world would be a very dull place. I actually enjoy learning about different religions and wouldn’t mind if you talked about yours, as long as you respect my own beliefs.

Please no men, prisoners, or requests for money or marriage. Anything like that will go right into the trash.

If you think we could become friends, please e-mail me for my snail mail address. If you could include "pen pal" as the subject, that would be helpful. No need to write a long e-mail, I’d rather you save telling me about yourself for your snail mail letter. I hope to hear from you soon!

Name: Heather
E-mail address: wintersunflower@hotmail.ca
Comments:Hello out there!
My name is Heather and I am 41 years young. I live in Newfoundland Canada. I am married and have 3 teenagers (14, 17, 18). That's the basics. :)
I am a long time penfriend with pals dating back the whole 31 years of my writing letter life. My pals are more than just people on paper, they are my tried and true friends whom I cherish dearly.
I am a regular writer and my letters are long and chatty. There are very few topics that I do not enjoy discussing and I am always open to learning new things or attempting to see things from a perspective that is not my own.
Sadly I have lost a few pals over the last year due to circumstances in their lives and I am now finding myself sitting here far too often with no letters to reply to.
I am looking for chatty, open minded ladies that will respond to what I say as well as ask questions for me to reply to in my next letter. I will do the same for you.
My letters vary is size but my shortest are about 6 A4 pages typed or 10 pages handwritten and my longest are about 20+ pages typed. I am looking for someone who would fit in that range somewhere. Shorter letters just don't "do it" for me. I feel they are a waste of postage. *laugh*
My greatest love is writing but I also enjoy learning about new places and people, I have a penchant for learning about medicine and health as well. Sharing recipes, favourite quotes, articles that interest you or anything else that fits nicely in to an envelope is all just wonderful as well.
If you are going to reply to this ad I would really appreciate if you would take a few minutes and tell me a bit about yourself. I'd love to know what is important to you in a pal and what kind of friend you are to the pals that you have now. I think it is important that we feel similarly in this one area. Don't you? :)
I will reply to all who contact me but friendships will only begin with people whom I feel a connection with.
I wish you all the best and hope that I will find a few great pals here like I did the last time I posted almost 4 years ago.
Happy writing!

I'm passionate about my letters and my friendships. I put a lot of time and energy into my letters and I hope for the same in return.
I don't expect a super-fast response though I would like it if my pals could respond within 4-6 weeks of getting my letter , i also write back in 4-6 weeks after i get a letter , it depends how busy i am .
just someone who write long letters on a regular basis, not someone you hear from every 5-6 months!

I like letters to be at least 3-4 pgs both sides. I handwrite my letters,
If you think we could “click” and therefore you may be interested in becoming snail mail pen pals , please send me a e-mail to introduce yourself and I will forward you my mailing address.
The only thing I ask is that you write first. If you can not write a long introductory letter I know we will not get far.

Please note that I’m not looking for someone who just wants to collect pen pals or writes the same letters to everyone! And I look for friends
...I would love to hear from someone that thinks we could be great long term friends!

i've been swapping and palling for almost 30 years .
please only respond if you are the type of person who will continue to w/b faithfully and not just stop after one letter
after some bad experiences I've become quite picky when it comes to take a new pal on board my ship. I'm looking for a genuine pal, who likes writing long chatty letters, when I say long it means letters have to be long .
I like writing about everything from A to Z, sharing ups and downs of life, writing about my family and more. I simply treat my pals as real friends, I also like asking questions and getting questions back.

i also like to swap cute stuff .

Name: Shannon
E-mail address: snobear76@yahoo.com
Comments:Hi my name is Shannon and I am 34. I am looking for female penpals from just about anywhere but especially from Scotland or Ireland.

I am happily married so I am not looking for romance or marriage proposals. Please don't bother with the scams as my spam folder fills up fast enough as it is.

Some of my favorite things:

Books - Watcher by Dean Koontz, The Stand by Stephen King, Sookie Stackhouse series, Queen Betsy series, The Outlander series, A Dirty Job by Christopher Moore, The Anita Blake and Merry Gentry series by Laurell K. Hamilton, The Lord of the Rings series and The Hobbit by JRR Tolkien, Roots by Alex Haley, The Godfather by Mario Puzo. As juvenile as it seems, I also loved the Harry Potter Series and The Twilight series. Those are just the ones that come to mind. I will read anything that sounds interesting.

Movies-Blazing Saddles, Return to Me, Run Lola Run, Mostly Martha, The Professional, 50 First Dates, Hotel Rwanda, Sliding Doors, Fluke, A Simple Twist of Fate, Groundhog Day, The Lord of The Rings, Star Trek, Iron Man, Shawshank Redemption, Gone with the Wind, Despicable Me, The Wizard of Oz.

TV - I'm more of a book reader than a TV watcher. That being said I still have a few favorite shows such as The Mentalist, Warehouse 13, Big Bang Theory, In Plain Sight, Leverage and Numb3rs.

Well that's all I can think of right now. Thanks for taking the time to read this :-)

I am looking for other EXTREMELY long lettered ladies around my age for friendship on a deeper level. I love to read, devour and savor letters as well as to respond. I enjoy truly getting to know other people and making connections. I am only looking for a few new pals as longer letters are more time consuming but awesome and so well worth it! Although my letters are long I don't take long to respond as I write most every day. :) I'm passionate about my letters and my friendships. I put a lot of time and energy into my letters and I hope for the same in return. I don't expect a super-fast response though I would like it if my pals could respond within 4-6 weeks of getting my letter. More than that and I forget things.

Friendship, sincerity, trust, someone who is open and is as non-judgmental as possible, etc. I'm an open book looking to truly get to know others and vice versa.

Comments:Hello ladies!! I am a 32 yo homeschooling mama of 3 precious daughters. I have been pen palling for about 20 years. I have lost touch with most of the pen pals from when I was a kid. I have met several lovely ladies over the last few yrs from around the world. I would really live to get to know some other mamas in Ireland, Scotland, eastern Europe and Asia. Other areas too of course but these are areas I do not have any friends =) I love to read and discuss books, I do not understand people who say they don't enjoy reading=/ other area of I interest include history, cryptozoology, archeology, anthropology, education, animals (we rent and cannot have any so I need to hear about your pets, LOL)... I went to college for special ed/ psych but did not finish, as I am really bad at sitting in class listening to lectures. I learn by seeing, by doing, and if its s really awesome book, by reading. I am a conservative Christian but I do not pound my friends over the head with the Bible. I love to learn and share opinions in a respectful, loving way. If political/religious conv are not your thing that's fine, sometimes its better that way =) I like to write and read about every day things too. I live asking and answering questions, they make letter writing fun and easy. Letters that have no questions can be torture for me. Its like a one sided conversation. I like letters to be at least 3-4 pgs both sides. I handwrite my letters, my hands do get quite sore and I try to keep my handwriting legible, but its not always really pretty =( I do not have a home computer (mobile phone access only) so I can't type. I do not mind typed letters as long as they aren't form letters. When you email me, please tell me about yourself and then I will send my address. Thanks do much and I hope to make some good friends!!

Name: A. from B.
E-mail address: ladysoul44@hotmail.com
Comments:I am a passionate person, whom thinks and reads a lot. A day dreamer too, someone whom likes to walk around aimlessly, discovering new places, people and things. Sometimes I can be very talkative, sometimes I keep very much to myself. And like everyone I have days when I feel glorious and others during which I feel down. I wouldn't say that I am a happy, cheery person, I rather am a reflective, melancholic soul. One with a distinct passion for the famous Scandinavian melancholy.

I always have many questions circling my head and I believe that each day you can learn something new. Some questions are contradictions. I often question my own busy lifestyle and yet I bake cookies, do the dishes and watch tv at the same time because doing just one thing bores me. Maybe we are being pushed by this society too much?
About learning I don't think that you ever can possess enough knowledge, there always is something you do not know yet or you haven't done yet. I love summer tv because each day an intriguing documentary is broadcasted, this summer I have learned about Russia, nuclear tests, diamonds, how people live in different countries,... Gaining knowledge is so easy these days, you have libraries, bookstores, the internet,... all at hand. Lot's of things only are a few clicks away but it is up to us to separate the right information from the wrong.

Days spend with friends are glorious days, their company enlightens me. How rare is it to meet someone with whom it clicks effortlessly. With whom you can be yourself no matter what, whom understands you by only looking at you? I think that those friendships are very rare and I consider myself as being very lucky that I have a person like that in my life. SLI is someone with whom I never have to pretend, we used to leave home baked cookies for each other in our lockers at work or little notes on each others desks. We can talk about light as well as serious topics and sometimes we don't have to say anything at all. Sadly our professional ways parted, but that doesn't mean that we have lost touch.
Which brings me to coincidences, we cannot control them and that is so fascinating. For instance if I would have driven to work five minutes later, the women wouldn't have crashed into my car. Do you think that coincidences are orchestrated to teach us all something or do they happen at random?

When I need a quick get away I go to Paris for one day, le palais royale is one of my favourite places. You just must see the shiseido shop there, it is unique, very dark, very boudoir like. Paris is a city that never seizes to amaze me, the shops, the architecture,... I do find it all stunning. Belgium has very nice cities too but in my eyes nothing can beat Paris. My mission is to learn to speak French as fluently as my mother tongue.
I still hope to discover Eastern Europe a bit more and would love to make it to Oceania. I am fatally attracted to Eastern European countries and their run down look, perfectionism is not that much fun. Whom wants everything to look the same and to be sterile? Not me that is for sure.
I believe that traveling opens the mind and heart. I just came back from a city trip to London, my first trip abroad alone. It took some courage and deep breaths, but I had a brilliant time and will repeat this, hopefully soon again.
I also am discovering my own country, just because I find that I don't know it well enough yet. I have discovered many truly wonderful places and am planning to continue my quest.

I am trying to changing my lifestyle, sometimes it is necessary to turn away from all the things you know and start something new. We all know the people whom drag their selves to work each and every day, whom are interested in nothing anymore and whom have a dead look in their eyes. I was becoming one of those as well and it scared me. I quit my job and will embark on a new professional adventure very soon.

How is it that we never give up hope? People can betray us and yet we do not give up to believe in the human race. How come that most of us are strong enough to re bounce while others are not?

Should we simplify our lives?

I am fond of food as well and I like different cuisines. Am always willing to try new things and I adore to bake. I am in a cookies faze at the moment. Thanks to an American friend I am discovering the delights of gingersnaps, ANZAC cookies, ...

I am a bit of an animal lover. My cat is currently sleeping on my lap as I type. I get worried when it rains outside and she is outside as well and I always try to keep her inside when they forecast thunder or storm. I do know that she is a tough little cookie but still,... I just do not want to loose her.

Things that I absolutely adore right now: Arsenal (belgian band), the sun, Frankie magazine, the Satorialist, send something.
What can I say, I love to write and I need to write. Paper never is demanding, it is patient,... For me pen palling is more than just exchanging mere words, it is about having a deep connection with someone. With some pals I just exchange letters, with others I exchange pictures, gifts, cookies and so much more.

And just like everyone I have some ground rules:
* We have to click. It doesn't happen with everyone unfortunately.
* You have to write long letters, be open and tolerant.
* You have to recognize that friendship = to hard work. Both parties are responsible for the outcome. There are ups and downs. Sometimes you or your pal are going through a difficult phase and I do believe that you should support and cheer each other on. You should listen, offer advice and try not to jump to conclusions or to judge someone too quickly.
* You have to be able to write about different topics. I take an interest in many things, from fashion to politics in Russia. So educate me about you, your country, traditions, what you read/watch/listen to, what is on your mind, what is disturbing you etc.

I don't want to sound too harsh or overbearing. But I have been writing letters for 12 years and have seen and been through a lot. I have written people long letters and got one scrappy page in return or nothing at all, loyal pals disappeared without a word or a trace,...
If I accept any new pals it must be worth while it. So I expect long introductions and I also expect you to write the first letter. I think that that is only fair, if I contact you first I'll also offer to write the first letter.

A message to all fellow pals here, never give up writing. Never bite in the dust and forget all about ink and paper.

I am looking forward to hear from you and to learn more about YOU.

I love having fun with friends, long letters (writing and reading them), reading mainly novels, detectives and magazines. Fashion, cosmetics and lifestyle and culture in general. Traveling and visiting places where I have never been before. Am currently trying to explore my own country a bit more. These days I find that most people travel to foreign countries, without knowing the country they live in. Sometimes you can be caught by surprise and discover a tradition or an area in your own country that takes your breath away. Photography and architecture. Culture in general really. I like local culture products, independent products.
Browsing the internet, knitting, baking,... I still have a lot to learn as far as baking and knitting goes. As for baking, I am exploring the delights of coconut macaroons, ANZAC biscuits and yet have to try to make icing/frosting. I still have so many recipe's to try.
As for knitting, I am looking for the perfect pattern to make a tip scarf. So if you have found one yourself, please do share it with me. I am very impressed with people whom spin and colour their own wool and I like 100% alpaca/cotton/... yarns.
I like to learn, watch documentaries. I like the saying that you can learn something new each and every day.
I regularly watch Scott Schulmans blog. I also have his book, I find him and other bloggers inspirational. When I go to a store and see the same things over and over again, I become sad. What happened to quality, beautiful fabrics, special cuts,... Have they become unaffordable for you and me?
I love anything I cannot find here or is hard to find here with a passion, why is the grass always greener on the other side? I am passionate about the New Yorker, Stila cosmetics, Marc by Marc Jacobs (the really cheap items), Stendlers soap (thanks to my pal Di),... I do believe that people should be passionate, that they should pause to think now and then. We are not robots, whom get up, go to work, get home, cook, watch tv and go to bed again. Never mind I do it, I am part of the rat race but I often think about it and hope at least that I am different from all the people whom only live for their work or whom doesn't pause to think about this world and what is happening to it.
I always seem to have some goals but I am rather bad at executing them, however I want to make soap, knit that tip scarf, continue to bake, go to Paris and London again and think and ponder and think again.
My current object of affection is the Apple Nano, how can something that small has such cool features? And hold so many songs? I don't follow most technology trends but I thing that the future has a few mighty interesting things in store for us.

Give me a shout if you think we have something in common.

Comments:Greetings to all of you fellow snailmail long letter lovers!

I’m a happily married mum from Italy and I would like to find some more dedicated and sincere snail mail pen pals that I can develop a friendship with and deeply get to know. Other mums are very welcome, especially considering I’m a mum as well and I’d love to share experiences and hear your stories about motherhood! But it isn't a must... I'll be happy to write to all people I judge interesting enough!

I love writing very very long chatty letters, putting lots of passion and creativity in it.
My other hobbies and passions are: reading books both in Italian and in English language, running and keeping fit (I'm in a local "mountain running" team), hiking, snowshoeing, being outdoors, spending time with my hubby and son, photography, listening to music, surfing the net, cooking, baking, creativity, crafts, travelling, shopping, postcards, nature, gardening, orchids, learning foreign languages and getting to know other cultures, documentaries about history, animals (I have a 7 year old female “Calico” cat), watching soccer matches, long conversations with my friends, dancing, drinking good red wine, Christmas markets, Winnie the Pooh, Diddl writing papers…

Actually, my interests and passions are sooooo many, I can’t name them all!

If you think we could “click” and therefore you may be interested in becoming snail mail pen pals (I won’t accept e-mail pen pals… sorry!), please send me a long e-mail to introduce yourself and I will forward you my mailing address. Please write more than just few lines so I can get a picture of who you really are! :) I would prefer you write the first letter!
Please note that I’m not looking for someone who just wants to collect pen pals or writes the same letters to everyone! I'll accept typed letters, though, because when I'm really busy I love to take advantage of technology and tend to type my letters as well. And I look for friends who write long letters on a regular basis, not someone you hear from every 5-6 months!

Please, no men, no romance, no money requests, no spammers, no religious e-mails.

I am frequently silly and humorous, I have a sarcastic sense of humor most times, I am overall pretty happy but I have my bitchy moments...don't we all? I am just looking for a friend to share all of those things with :)

Comments:Hi. Just and Asian woman in her 30's reaching out. I'm looking for a serious friend who will like to truly put the effort on getting to know one another. I am a sensitive, kind, and loyal pal and would like someone on the "mousy" side like me. I'm louder in my letters and love to express myself. But I'm on the more mysterious introverted side when I meet people. I don't trust so easily so it takes time to open up. But in letters I feel more comfortable, that is if the other is as open and honest. I really don't like talking of nothing such as mundane things, the weather and what I did today or what I do. Sure I will answer no problem, only I would like to talk more of how we feel, what we think of something and what we would like to do. I will listen to your ups and downs, your fears and dreams. Isn't that what real friends do? I don't want to be just a penpal because I believe there is more potential on finding a true friend when writing more than who we meet everyday. At least for me, I have not found a good friend around me since we have little in common and some are closed. I'm spiritual and believe in God but still explore other beliefs, karma, and metaphysical things. I love holistic things and always reach for herbs or something more natural when I don't feel well. I like cooking, baking, singing, dark poems, classic poems, jewelry, natural perfumes, swimming, hello kitty, watching animals, the ocean, and classic movies.
I have no problem if you have a disability, I have issues myself, sorry no inmates or insincere letters, or rude letters. I'm pretty open minded to things so I'd love to hear from you. I'd like to tell you more but not here. I'll save it for my letter. But I emphasize on people willing to form a friendship and are really looking for a true person a true glowing soul like I am. If you like sensitive types, then I may be a good match. Also, I want strong minds too who are not easily persuaded by status or who is better than who or wanting what someone has. That depresses me. I feel that we are all special and unique and I will not look down on anybody. I hope you do the same. It matters who we are not what we achieved and stuff. Lets be supportive to one another and like us for who we are. Thanks for reading.

I've been pen-palling since I was 13 and after some bad experiences I've become quite picky when it comes to take a new pal on board my ship. I'm looking for a genuine pal, who likes writing long chatty letters, when I say long it means letters have to be longer than 3-4 pages, I like writing about everything from A to Z, sharing ups and downs of life, writing about my family and more. I simply treat my pals as real friends, I like asking questions, remembering their birthday, sending photos of myself and family and more. My pals have to write on a regular basis, at least once every 2-3 months and not once a year, it's not a problem if you like typing (don't send me massive produced letters). I prefer writing to other mums and I'm sorry but I'm not looking for new pals in UK or Germany cause I already have enough there, others are welcome. If you share the same opinion about pen-palling, send me an e-mail where you tell me something about yourself. I won't reply to short notes sorry. I hope to hear from you soon!!!

The second mouse slams a shot and says: "That's nothing. I take those poison bait tablets, cut them up, and snort them, just for the fun of it." And, with that, he slams another shot.
The third mouse slams a shot, gets up, and turns to walk away.
"Where the hell do you think you're going?" ask his friends.
The third mouse stops and replies: "I'm going home to shag the cat."

Ok now that the ice is broken let me tell you a little of the basics about me and what exactly I'm looking for in a penpal.

I'm situated in the emerald isle of Ireland and was dropped into this world in 1982 ( I'm 28! ).

My interests include creative writing,swapping art journals,paranormal,ancient civilisations,divination,conspiracy theories,vegetarianism,music,film,Egyptology,art,crafts,long letters,serial killers,animal rights,mailart,fantasy,myths/legends,storytelling,dreams, imaginative people,science,astronomy...

The sort of penpal I'm searching for is someone who is not afraid to speak their own mind and is in no way judgemental.I will definitely only reply to long letters. In the past I've had replies from people who stated that they only write long letters yet when I received their mail the envelope contained only a few words of mindless rubbish.A long letter to me is something that is 4 A4 (front and back) pages.I've often written 15-20+ pages to penpals I've had a real connection with.Writing letters is an ultimate passion of mind so please don't waste my time.

Any age welcome as long as you are female.

Now get your skates on and send me a message introducing yourself and what you can offer me being my penpal! If you contact me first you must be willing to write the first letter.

Comments:I live in the north of England and am just teetering on the brink of thirty. I am the accidental owner of three cats and a boyfriend. I do crafts – I crochet, sew, bind books and am in the process of building the world’s maddest dolls’ house. I also love The Moomins, documentaries about fish, clowns (the scarier the better), blogging, comedy (the darker the better), keeping my notebooks, reading tawdry magazines, playing the ukulele (poorly), poached eggs, hyacinths, novelty jumpers and squid. Books are my first love, though, and if I grow up I want to be a writer.

I don’t mind where you come from, although I do have an abiding interest in Finland. I like people who are chaotic and a bit odd, who doodle in the margins and notice all the strange details of the world, people who can hold both their drink and their own in an argument. I don’t care if your letters are as long as Proust or just a sentence on a postcard, as long as they’re fun. I look forward to hearing from you.

Comments:Looking for creative long letter snail mail pen pals who let their personality shine through when they write. I’m tired of the same old letters that read blah blah blah and come across as monotone, aren’t you? Lets make our letters extraordinary! Dare to step out of your comfort zone and be creative and write as if our hearts and souls and senses of humor are speaking to one another in long friendly chatty letters! (I am female, married with three four legged kids (a shih tzu named Tara, a Chihuahua named Rocky who I just rescued and an aquatic turtle named squirt after the little turtle in nemo). I am an INFP, Leo with Scorpio ascendant, Reiki Master, Spiritual Life Coach, artists, writer, singer, lover of all things fun. If this sounds like a plan to you and you are willing to dare to be different, PM me to exchange addresses. I've been pen palling since I was 11, and dont collect pals but am looking for some new friends via letter (outside of US only please). Please email me to get my address as I don't like posting it publically. ;)

NO men, U.S. pals or prisoners please! Thanks! Your emails will be bounced back!

Comments:Hello from Estonia! I am 32 yrs old woman, married and mother of two. I am looking for very few high-quality pen pals. I have got more than 20 years experience of pen palling and this is one of the reasons that has made me rather picky about new pen pals. I am looking for long letter writers (that means i.e. typed 4+ pages/A4 size; personal letters! I do not mind typed letters but handwritten letters are cute as well; I do both) who write regularly (at least once per every two months, this is what I use to do) and who agree that pen palling is a dialogue with questions and answers, comments and opinions – generally showing interest in what the other person has written. I am looking for life long pen pals who can find time for letters also when the life changes, pen palling has to be one of your priorities in life, just like it is in my life. Also, I do not have time to spend on pen pals who I do not “click” with, when I see after 2-3 letters we expect different things from pen palling after all, I stop writing (with writing a note about it). It may sound cruel but I think it is the best since pen palling has to be fun, not another obligation in everyday life. I also do not believe in “my next letter will be longer” or “next time I will write back sooner” promises, my experience says pen pals who give them in every letter actually never fulfill them. I hope I did not scare you away but if you could not agree with me, I think you are not my type of pen pal.
A bit more about myself: besides pen palling I like to do crafts (scrapbooking, cardmaking, knitting, crocheting, sewing etc), travel, go hiking and camping, be in the nature, go to the theater, read poetry and quotes, shopping, languages, baking and cooking... I am also interested in eco-lifestyle, home births, yoga, homeopathy. I am currently on maternity leave but otherwise I work in tourism.
When you write your intro e-mail to me, do tell me what do you expect from a pen pal and what kind of pen pal you are, also tell me some facts about yourself and your hobbies. I do not expect your first e-mail to me to be very long (but it still has to catch my attention:)), I prefer to read more details about you in your first snail mail to me.

Comments:Hello all! Such a pleasure to find my fave penpal website again after it changed url! As you may have guessed from those 2 lines, I have been here before and I am now back to find me one or two new pals :). I am specifically looking for long letter and somewhat regular pals from Italy, Portugal, the Middle East (Iran in particular) and Asia, Japan in particular but all Asian countries are fine ļ. My only request being you can express yourself in English well enough to have a decent conversation. I don't want to get stuck in sole conversations about the weather. As for the meaning of regular, I don't expect you to write every month but I do like to receive (at least) 4 letters a year so I guess I'd like you to write - and I will do the same ļ - once every two to three months. If you are more regular, then so am I ļ. Also I like you to ask and answer questions and I can tell you upfront I tend to ask many questions - you'd better be prepared *LOL*.
A quick word about me, I am in my late 30s, married without kids and work fulltime. When I am not working I have plenty to keep myself busy with ƒº. I love books and would not be able to live without them. They are great to relax as well as to learn from! I enjoy watching movies though I find that at this stage of life, I need to see them in the cinema as I am not having peace of mind watching them at home ƒ¼. Also I love cooking and like to experiment with different ingredients, I love walking, taking photos, travelling, keeping up to date (and form an opinion about!) with what is happening in this world, I enjoy going to the theater, like to listen to music, socializing with family and friends. Quite a normal person I would think ƒº. If it did get you interested though, I would love to hear from you! Have a great day!

Comments:Greetings all of you fellow snailmail long letter lovers!

I’m a happily married mum and I would like to find some more dedicated and sincere snail mail pen pals around my age that I can develop a friendship with and deeply get to know. Other mums are very welcome, especially considering I’m a mum as well and I’d love to share experiences and hear your stories about motherhood! But it isn't a must... I'll be happy to write to all people I judge interesting enough!!

I love writing very very long chatty letters putting lots of passion and creativity in it.
My other hobbies and passions are: reading books both in Italian and in English language to improve it, running, hiking, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, keeping fit in general, being outdoors, spending time with my hubby and son, photography, listening to music, surfing the net, cooking, baking, creativity, crafts, travelling, Ireland, Sweden, shopping, receiving and collecting postcards, nature, gardening, orchids, learning foreign languages and getting to know other cultures, documentaries about history, animals (I have a 6 year old female “Calico” cat), watching soccer matches, long conversations with my friends, dancing, drinking good red wine, Christmas markets, Winnie the Pooh, Diddl writing papers…

Actually, my interests and passions are sooooo many, I can’t name them all!

I work part-time in an office taking care of the book keeping and doing all sorts of secretarial work. I switched to part-time after I became a mum, because this way I have the chance to follow my child's quick growth more closely and enjoy his company.

I'll accept typed letters, though, because when I'm really busy I love to take advantage of technology and tend to often type my letters as well. And I look for friends who write long letters on a regular basis, not someone you hear from every 5-6 months!

Please, no men, no romance, no money requests, no spammers!
Please no religious mail and no one trying to help me find God. I have no wish to be converted to other religions, as I already have my own spiritual beliefs! Your e-mails will be deleted.

Thanks for reading this ad!

I love music (Taylor Hicks, Dixie Chicks, Sting, Simon & Garfunkel, and recently loving Kirtan music!!), writing, reading, crafts. I live right near the Disney Parks so we spend a lot of time at those. Anything else you'd like to know, please ask, I am very open. I hope I can make a couple of nice friends. I'm not one to collect throw away pals, but one who enjoys having a good friend or two to share lives with! Penpals of any age welcome, I dont really act my age.

Internet as a source is great but also contains lot's of rubbish.

SLI is someone with whom I never have to pretend, we leave home baked cookies for each other in our lockers at work or little notes on each others desks. We can talk about light as well as serious topics and sometimes we don't have to say anything at all.

I believe that traveling opens the mind and heart and god knows that I have been doing way too little of it for the past three years. I am currently in a transitional period and am trying to turn my life around a bit, so hopefully I manage to travel again, to explore and discover. At the moment I am discovering my own country, just because I find that I don't know it well enough yet. I have discovered many truly wonderful places and am planning to continue my quest.
About changing my lifestyle, sometimes it is necessary to turn away from all the things you know and start something new. We all know the people whom drag their selves to work each and every day, whom are interested in nothing anymore and whom have a dead look in their eyes. I was becoming one of those as well and it scared me. I currently do not know what the future will bring but I feel alive and full of confidence again, full of hope. How is it that we never give up hope? People can betray us and yet we do not give up to believe in the human race. How come that most of us are strong enough to re bounce while others are not? And why does this current society expects so much of us? Should we simplify our lives?

I am fond of food as well and I like different cuisines. Am always willing to try new things and I adore to bake. I am in a cookies faze at the moment. Thanks to an American friend I am discovering the delights of gingersnaps, ANZAC cookies, ...

I am a bit of an animal lover. My cat is currently sleeping on my lap as I type. I get worried when it rains outside and she is outside as well and I always try to keep her inside when they forecast thunder or storm. I do know that she is a tough little cookie but still,... I just do not want to loose her.

I am looking for:

What can I say, I love to write and I need to write. Paper never is demanding, it is patient,... For me pen palling is more than just exchanging mere words, it is about having a deep connection with someone. With some pals I just exchange letters, with others I exchange pictures, gifts, cookies and so much more.

And just like everyone I have some ground rules:
* We have to click. It doesn't happen with everyone unfortunately.
* You have to write long letters, be open and tolerant.
* You have to recognize that friendship = to hard work. Both parties are responsible for the outcome. There are ups and downs. Sometimes you or your pal are going through a difficult faze and I do believe that you should support and cheer each other on.

My hobbies:
Having fun with friends, long letters (writing and reading them), reading mainly novels, detectives and magazines.

I am looking forward to hear from you.

Take care.

I am looking for sincere pen pal (or e-pal), I use to have pen pals when younger and life made that we lost touch, I'd like to find a sincere friend, because yes, my pen pals are my friends. I think it is very difficult to meet someone who'll not let you down after a while.
I am 28 y-o, I work a lot and in my free time, I like to take care of my pets, go for rides in the countryside, watch DVDs when it's raining outside with a good hot chocolate :), I also like to drink tea, coffee (not too strong), I am open-minded and believe in paranormal activities, I like tattoos and piercings, music, playing Farmville and video games (Super Mario only - you have to have limits haha)
That is me in a nutshell, not easy to introduce yourself like that, I lost the habit of penpalling so please bear with me haha
I don't mind where you are from, I just want someone around my age who is ready to share daily life thoughts, bad times and good times, all kind of stories and also I want to precise that I don't mind if you are straight, gay or bi, the color of your skin ... because friendship has no limit.
I hope to hear from you gals !!! :)

Comments:Hi ladies!

I am interested in finding a penfriend or two.

I am 35 yrs old. I use "lol" way too often, can not stand bad grammar...even though I am a typo queen, am very open minded, pretty liberal, very non-judgmental, I tend to judge a book (an actual book) by its cover, love vampires and trashy vampire romance novels lol. I like to scrapbook digitally, play Facebook games, texting is great once I am friends with someone, I love to play World of Warcraft! I like horror movies, kids playing and laughing, my husband is amazing and the love of my life. I have anxiety and panic issues but those are well medicated ... I am not looking for sympathy...just another aspect of who I am.

Comments:Hello!

I am 34 years old female, looking for a couple or few new pen pals. I have lost many pals in the past 2 years or so, which has been sad and frustrating, esp. with those pals, who had been writing to me more than a few years. But some people just stop writing, if something comes up to their lives (children, for instance, or busy with work or other issues), which is kind of sad after so many years...

So, I thought to try out here, if I could find some loyal pals, who would stay friends with me even if having busy life sometimes. I am very much into pen palling and have been writing letters since age of 12. So, you can be very sure that I won't stop writing after a few letters, and I really cherish the friendship and put effort in it. I usually write medium-long or long letters depending on a pal, too, and reply back in 1-3 weeks.

I have lots of interests, which I will list here. I will tell more about them in the letters then. :)
- cultures, history, art expos, museums, languages
- travel abroad and in Finland
- Latinobic and other solo dance courses (zumba, reggaeton, Latinos)
- Latin America and its cultures and countries, Latino music, Spanish
- watching TV and sports (on TV or live)
- spending time with my cat
- long walks, nature, cottages
- reading, writing diary
- playing board games and games in Facebook and Xbox sometimes, crosswords
etc... etc...

In a pen pal I am looking for a person, who really is into writing and wants to get to know a person well. Who likes to write in rather regular basis and asks questions, too. Who shows interest in getting to know a pal. Who likes to have good conversations via snail mail. I do not mind whether typed or handwritten letter, as long as it is individually written. Myself I handwrite the most letters, seldom type.

If you got interested in writing with me, introduce yourself via email to me. You do not need to write a very long email, just tell me the basic things, and what kind of pal you are. I rather get a long letter via snail mail with more information.

Regards from the north,

Kati

I'm a combination (some might say a contradiction) of realist/whimsical, funny/serious, simple/complex, caring/reserved, with an oftentimes dry sense of humor. I'm kinda' reclusive, a minimalist, a Pantheist (a belief, NOT a religion).

I have three adult children and one adorable grandson. I also have five children of the four-legged variety- all rescues (Two dogs and three cats, whom I will inexhaustingly tell you ALL about! LOL.

My hobbies/intersts are; companion animal welfare & advocacy; vegetarian-ism; MY PETS!; reading; written, intelligent, respectful communication/dialogue; "The Amazing Race"; and simple & frugal living.

I'm seeking penfriends from the US & Internationally- regardless of age, color, location, religious beliefs (or lack thereof), and/or lifestyle choices. Diversity is what makes the world interesting & respect should be mutual. I highly dislike dogma/bigotry and feel every individual is perfectly capable of 'finding' their own 'path'.

Being a natural solitary person as I am, my penpals are more than just a hobby; they are TRULY my friends!

I have a lot of interests and hobbies including cooking, sports, travelling, food, fashion, writing, reading, cocktails and movies. I love summer and nice warm weather and anything involving being outside. I was recently working in corporate travel but am now on maternity leave. My favourite places in the world are New York and Thailand.
I will keep this short as I would rather write more about myself to an individual person.
Please only write to me if you don't disappear after a couple of letters and if I sound like your kind of person. I love long chatty fun letters, no slams of fbs.
Thanks!

Comments:I used to be a very busy pen pal, and then life happened and I lost touch with most of my pals. While life hasn't stopped happening, I do think that my life is missing a little je ne sais quoi, and I miss finding something other than bills and advertisements in the mailbox. I'm 30, and still trying to figure out what to do with my life. I really envy the people who are able to live like grown ups with jobs and houses and retirement accounts, but I am not one of them. I do have a wonderful little girl, two cats, an awesome boyfriend, and a lot of stories. I like to write long letters about everything, mostly my observations of all the absurd and crazy things that happen in the day to day. I have a quirky, sarcastic sense of humor and I really appreciate that in other people. I don't think we necessarily have to have the same interests, but if you like geeky stuff like Star Wars, video games, medical books, Harry Potter, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Latin, or Alice in Wonderland, you will be more likely to be able to follow my letters. I also love sewing, decoupage and crocheting and am addicted to antiques and anything that's seafoam in color. Only ladies please. PLEASE!

Comments:Hello ladies! I'd love to make new long-letter friends via snail mail. A bit about me...

My name's Margeaux and I'll be 30 in December. I'm a gothy, ecclectic Pagan chick. :-D I live on the coast of Maine with my boyfriend of 11 years & our 9-year old daughter. I'm a childcare provider/artist/paranormal investigator/Girl Scout leader/Avon ind. sales rep., among other things. My interests are extremely many & varied.

As a penpal, I tend to write extremely long, chatty letters (sometimes regular letters & other times, I fill a journal), and I usually send lots of photos. I've been palling since I was 4. I really enjoy getting to know my penpals as close friends. Age and location don't matter, as long as we hit it off. I usually try to handwrite my letters, but due to some medical issues, I sometimes have to type. If that's a problem, please don't contact me. My letters are always very personal, and I put a lot of time & effort into them.

I swap slams (especially in bulk), random goodies, occasional f.b.'s or decos (I usually have some excess to pass along).

Feel free to check me out on Facebook or MySpace, if you'd like to see a bit more about me.

If you think you'd like to give palling with me a try, please e-mail me at Margeaux_Melynda@yahoo.com and tell me a bit about yourself. (Also, please put something about penpalling in the subject, so I won't mistake you for spam.)

You could also just send an intro to my snail mail addy:

I look forward to hearing from you! :-D

Comments:Hi ladies!

I am interested in finding a penfriend or two.

I am 35 yrs old. I use "lol" way too often, can not stand bad grammar...even though I am a typo queen, am very open minded, pretty liberal, very non-judgmental, I tend to judge a book (an actual book) by its cover, love vampires and trasy vampire romance novels lol.

Comments:Hello! I'm Jane, a 30-year old Brit living in Canada.
I love letters and postcards, and sending and receiving mail. I’m looking for sincere female penpals who like writing and receiving medium/long letters (I don’t mean novel-length letters, but more than a couple of paragraphs!) – and who won’t stop writing after a couple of letters (o:

If you aren’t so keen on long letters and would like to be postcard penpals, that would be fun too.

Here is a little bit about my other interests/likes: reading (mysteries, classics, history, biographies - most things really!), writing, watching old films (especially black and white), travelling, languages (I speak Spanish and Portuguese and would love to penpal in those languages), visiting new places, learning about other cultures, tarot/paranormal/esoteric things, trying to learn to knit!, history (especially the Victorian period, and 1900s-1930s), collecting postcards/stickers/stationery, long walks, nature, music (pop, classical, world music, jazz), swapping. I also love cute stuff like pretty stationery, stickers, Hello Kitty and Miffy.

One thing I would prefer is that you don’t smoke, or at least that your letters don’t smell of smoke. Sorry, it’s something I really don’t like )o:

Looking forward to hearing from you soon!

Comments:Hi, this is Claudi, 36, from Germany, looking for some more great penpals as a few have left me recently due to various reasons...

Don't be scared of all my penpal wishes - it's just that I am penpalling for over 20 years now & have learned my lessons, so I think it's better to tell you right from the beginning what I expect... So, here we go!

First of all, the countries... I'd like to write to all of you, but as my time is limited & I don't send out copied letters & neither am a penpal collector, I decided to only pick out the countries I'm most interested in. So please ONLY people from Ireland, Scotland, Sweden, Denmark, Japan, Australia & USA at the moment.
You should also be in my age-group, means be 32-42 years old.

I consider my penpals as close FRIENDS - sometimes they even know more about me than my "real" friends - and that's why I'm only looking for long-termed friendship & people who write chatty, regular & long letters - you should usually answer in 2-6 weeks and 3-6 A4 pages would be perfect. For longer letters I need a much longer time to reply...
You should also take this seriously - and not just try it out & then stop writing after a few letters - unless we realize that we don't click, of course.

I’m not so keen on writing to mums because I think we run a completely different life & because my experience showed me that most mums don’t have the time for a regular penfriendship. No offence!!

So now a bit about me... finally! :o)
I'm an open-minded, friendly & honest person, always curious about life & with a huge sense of humor.
I love my cat & my dog, books, movies & series, penpalling, the sea, nature, geocaching, the Middle Age, traveling, photography, cooking, board games, fleamarkets, crafting, decorating, shopping, dining out, the Peanuts, Christmas, Halloween, Lush, summer, chocolate, sea food, ...

If you think we might click, drop me more than a line & be ready to write the first letter, please. Would love to hear from people who are on facebook & swap FBs. Looking very forward to hear from you soon!! :o)

NO PENPAL-COLLECTORS, MEN, CONS, MONEY-BEGGARS, SPAM-MAIL, WEIRDOS. Thank you.

Comments:Hi Girls. I am 29 and from a not so sunny England, where I live with my fiancé and our daughter. I would describe myself as open, honest, chatty, down to earth and really friendly.

I am looking for penfriends who want to get to know me and not just add me to there collection. Penpals who are easy going and chatty like me. It's nice to share every day experiences, thoughts, opinions, hopes and dreams and to basically talk about anything and everything, oh and those little bits in between. I always ask and like to be asked loads of questions too or how else are we suppose to get to know each other right? ;o) I also have a huge obsession with cute stationary. I am looking to make some new pen-pals with any one who is genuine and wants to make, good long lasting friendships through writing medium to long handwritten letters. Please no 2 sides of A5 letters!

My hobbies are of course penpalling, swimming, reading, watching TV & movies, listening to music, walking, shopping, girlie nights in, surfing the net, dining out, taking photos, day trips, sight seeing, the cinema, bowling, taking our daughter to different places, learning about different cultures and generally socialising with my friends and family. I ♥ candles, beaches, the sea, mountains, sunsets, nice views, animals, bubble baths, laughing, texting, sleeping, girlie things, postcards, Hello Kitty, Tinkerbell and much more.

I will save the rest for my letters. So, if you think we would get along and you would like to start exchanging letters with me, please send me an e-mail telling me a bit about yourself. I am looking forward to forming some new long lasting frienships :o)

Take care x

Comments:Hello! I’m looking for long (3+ A4 pages) letter pals who enjoy writing chatty, handwritten letters about every day life. Someone to share all the little things in life that happen and that can write on a regular basis - that’s important to me as I think it’s the best way to build a good friendship and it is friendship, through our letters that I’m looking for.

Ideally you’ll be 35+ but I don’t mind where you live. I don’t have any children so I would particularly like to hear from other women who have also chosen not to have children. However that’s not to exclude those that do, you’re more than welcome to write too.

I live in the UK and love: writing letters, stationery, reading, walking, nature, countryside, animals, tv and films, days out, cosy evenings in and spending time with friends and family – all the little things in life! If you think we’d get along well then please drop me an email telling me a bit about yourself and I’ll give you my address.

Hope to hear from you soon!
