| Comments: | there are more caves than are listed in this site. in cantam-is baslay, there are more than 30 caves. i have gone into 4 of these caves w/ a guide who went inside them all. 1 cave w/c i will call san roque is as bigger than hinagdanan and have about 15 meters ceiling. another with an entrance so small that you have to squeeze into like a rat is about 15o-200 meters long with about 6-8 meters ceiling . the other two is about 30-40 meters long. 1 cave w/c i will call tagakan has a vertical entrance of about 8-10 meters, then stoop for about 5-6 meters before the grand cavern which about 200 meters long.next cave (nahagbungan cave) is entered via a vertical shaft 12-15 meters high, then crawl for about 10 meters (2-3 feet ceiling), then down another shaft of about 15-20 meters before the large cavern 150-200 meters long. this chamber is has a pool and spring inside.another cave (the most difficult - i call it kamangon) is for a professional spelunkers dream. 15 meters of vertical shaft, then a horizontal chamber about 6 meters w/ a 4 meter ceiling, then rapel down another 10 meters, then crawl (very tight space)about 20 meters, then another vertical drop of about 5 meters before reaching the main chamber w/c is reportedly 300 to 500 meters long. a pool and spring is also found inside the main chamber. this cave has a possible ling to nahagbungan cave. 1 cave near the border with biasong has a mouth radius of about 20-25 meters...this cave is partly edxplored. my guess is this cave is the biggest of them all. there are 20+++ more smaller caves within 2 kilometer radius of the cantam-baslay barangay hall. cantam-is baslay will become the spelunkers ultimate destination in bohol. spread the word...as soon as i will finish the proposed moalong river parks posposed master development plan, loon will become another tourist destination in bohol. loon will become the outdoor adventure destination in bohol. |
