 Here, one meets a congregation of talented poets. I read almost all, and found them exceedingly rich and delightful. Some of the poems are magical. Others are sad and sometimes strangely beautiful. Some are laden with moving emotion, etc. But what the poems have in common is their ability to convey feelings, reflections, mood, etc. They make absorbing read.

On this Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Me of European background-
And I love him the same

He’s still active for peace up there in heaven with God
They’ve spirited me to write, risking me sounding odd!

Will you take our word passion for your word soul for one day?
You will be missing out nothing, for they’re one in the same!

If you say no I will make one day be one year!
If I am misunderstood, I will trade back with a tear.

Then we’ll go out about town, in black and white dress
The sharpest combination by far, fulfilling us best.

Our arms linked we toast songs
Flutes engraved in saxophone gold

Our hearts dance to dark embodied wine
Your passion, our soul

Cheers high with glasses clear of previous color associations.
Yet rich with prisms from the light above for our human nation.

They are frequently overlooked on other mainstream poetry sites, e.g. poetry.com had (1) poem each of Langston Hughes & Maya Angelou, and most of the authors listed on this site were not represented at all.
