Heyya Loungers! Wanted to let everyone know that a Liquid Diet Lounge Care Package went out today to a fellow Burner currently serving in Iraq - PV2 Nathaniel Miller. Alongside the baby wipes, cigs, energy bars, hard candies, snacks, and sunscreen went a collection of BM bling-bling I've collected these past years. Pictures, patches, stickers, necklaces and the LDL wooden nickel will soon be gifting Iraq. Don't know Nathaniel. Never heard of em. Never met him. late nights, drifting on the music. thinking of the stars. closing my eyes to see the purple black of the playa darkness. over the fence. running. running. behind me a world of lights. bringing noise, sound, a bubble so big, i have to walk for hours to escape it. lay flat on your face in the dust. listen to the world move in silence. it is constant, no matter your perception. it continues when you feel fast or slow. whether you are watching or sleeping. a constant flow of energy. wind on the surface is like waves on the beach. never ending. even the wave or breeze 100 miles away is coming. no way to stop it. others will all perceive it as it blows on by. you will experience it, and then it is past your grasp. moving still. onward to another. or into the hills. no matter, it is not with you now. a small satellite city would be nice. a destination resort of sorts. a get away from the get away. blue skies and sunbeams. blue nights and moon beams. pin pricks of light. twinkle and glimmer in my eyes. fur jackets are the best. soft and animal. sensual and tactile. comforting and warm. security in a cold blasting wasteland. everyone will be your friend if you have a fuzzy coat. flames fly in so many different places. across the black the blue the purple. too much. too much to see and hear at once. the return from the barrier needs black goggles and earplugs. don't come ill prepared. and don't walk. my heart gushes thinking of the dancing. never ending, days of dancing. so many smiles. so many people to experience right then. no point in ruining the moment. let them go. they are part of your experience and you theirs. to know. to really know takes you back to where you tried to escape. to that reality where society lives. they are all real people, with real things, with bad things and good things. but here I have no things. I am energy, I am a smile, a joke, a laugh, a drink of water, I am a beautiful hat, fabulous shoes, a warm hug, a helping hand, but best of all, I am a mystery. I am a painting that gets to be taken at face value, interpreted for whatever the interpreter needs me to be at that moment. fond memories of smiles and good clothes. clever ideas and a helping hand. sharing with no strings attached. cruising through in a baggage-less sea. expression without end. be you, be who you are, be who you're afraid to be, be uncomfortable, for it all shall pass. and almost no one will ever even notice. no photograph, no video, no poem or drawing can ever capture it all. only a sound, or a touch, or smell can bring back the memory. bring it back in your heart and stomach. bring it back like a dream so it feels real again. that is when you lived it. when it comes to you again and again. in dreams, on starry beaches, on the tongue of the wind wrapping around your ear, a hot whisper through your hair that says "remember me?" can you? |
