| Comments: | I love your site! I've just done my first show as costume director, for an amateur theatre company in the city where I live. The show was Bugsy Malone, complete with "splurge" which was meringue mix and pies. We had so much fun doing it, despite the fact that the costumes had to be sponged every night!
I have a couple of quotes from this show, some from me, some from the kids in the show: "If they are looking at THAT, then it's fairly obvious they didnt come to see you acting, darl" "But this dress is famous, it's written in the script that you're supposed to look horrible in it!" (about a dress that gets mocked by several characters) "I love show business. It's pure madness, everywhere you turn there's something crazy happening....like those guys over there, wrestling on the floor, and those people (there was 5 or 6 of them) wearing matching pyjamas" "You realise you're crazy, don't you?" (on hearing that we had to clean the costumes after every "splurging") "I haven't stabbed a kid with my scissors yet" -after being asked how everything was going after the 3rd dress rehearsal :) have a great day! |
