I agree that theater is a wonderful medium to stimulate the mind and emotions but must assume that NK has never attended any of EPAC's original productions such as "The Wall", "The Dark Side of the Moon", or "Ziggy Stardust". These are productions that are presented in a completely unique manner utilizing rock music, lyrics, dance, and multimedia projections to tell a story. EPAC's version of the Broadway show "Tommy" was exciting and extremely innovative in terms of sets, costumes, and scenery and hailed as "transceding community theater fare" by the Press and Sun Bulletin. I've seen each of EPAC's original shows and have loved each and everyone. Last year's show "Aqualung" was phenomenal and I'm looking forward to this year's "Bohemian Rhapsody" I appreciate NK's opinion and observation about moving "beyond the page" but at the same time, one can only move so far beyond the page when producing a show such as "Fiddler on the Roof", "Hello Dolly", "A Chorus Line", etc. With EPAC having been voted the Press & Sun Bulletin's "Readers Choice Award Winner" for Theater Performance Companies for the past 3 years indicates to me that most people (including me) do not share NK's opinion. I hope that NK can attend Bohemian Rhapsody. |

| Comments: | I am a performer and have seen a number of plays at this theater, all of which have left me a little disappointed. There is never a deeper meaning or anything resembling metaphor. It is unclear whether the director(s?) have taken at all into account that there are many directions a play can be taken beyond the text of the script.
My hope is that someday I will be able to walk into a show at epac and walk out truly amazed and excited about what I've seen as well as ponderous (in a positive way) about what some of the imagery actually could have meant. I suppose what I'm trying to say is that when I see a play, I want it to have some personal meaning for me as I watch from the audience and I want the play to be presented to me in an original way that works, but that I had never quite considered before.
