| Comments: | Hello fellow genealogist! I have some of the same lines in the Medbury/Sprague/Arnold families who migrated out of Rhode Island to New Berlin, Chenango Co. N.Y. shortly after the Revolutionary War. I have visited Welcome Arnold's gravesite, as well as his father Jabez's family cemetery. Welcome was a brother to Thomas, the Arnold line I am descended from. I am trying to locate the Medbury Cemetery in New Berlin, where Isaac & Lydia Sprague Medbury are buried. Thomas Arnold married a granddaughter of Isaac & Lydia,(daughter of Joseph & Mary Potter), Johanna Medbury. Her grave is also in the New Berlin area & I have looked for it as well. There is apparently a file in Cooperstown at the New York State History Library on this family, AS well as at the Guernsey library in Norwich N.Y. They are consideered pioneers of the Chenango Co. area. I'll share with you any info I can find when I go there this Summer, hopefully! |

I am researching my family tree and found my way to your site thru our Frankfort, Kansas mutual connection. My great grandfather met & married his wife in Frankfort in 1882. My grandfather was born there & then the family moved to K.C., MO. If you ever come across any info about the following people I would should appreciate if you passed it along to me. I'm especially interested in finding a copy of Cutler's History of Kansas book to purchase. Plus several other similar books that mention my family's early KS residents. My maiden name is Yunker, so, Yunker genealogy research led me to your website. I located a document entitled German and Swiss Colonization of Morgan County, Tennessee which may be of interest. For sure these settlers were ancestors of my dad, who spelled his name Yunker. Census records for the time period between 1840-1850 lists Junker, Younger, Yunker, Younker for Morgan Co, TN. All these are the same family of people. Those recording the census made errors in spelling. The family name was originally Junker (As you probably know). In a short period, translation errors in speaking and writing resulted in the variations of the surname Junker.
