Our first is a non standard we bought from a small local pet store. She "looked" normal enough as a puppy. But it was not long before we relized she was not going to be a normal sized Rottweiler. She is now 4 years old and weighs about 55 lbs...We had her spayed as soon as we could..We then bought a male, who is a grumbler by the way! What a joy he is..He is just now 2 years old. We then bought a female from a very large and well known kennel and paid a very large sum because our goal is to start breeding and selling top quality, well bread and desease free Rotties. She was guaranteed to not have dysplasia and parvo virus. Well she is just over a year old now and we had to have her spayed because she developed dysplasia and we cannot breed her..We found out in the nick of time too because we were getting ready to breed her at her next heat.This broke my heart because this little girl, she weighs 100lbs, would have made a wonderful mommy. We informed the kennel and they immediatly sent us another female the next day free of charge, in honoring their guarantee..We have had this little girl for a month now and what a ham she is. We are cautiously waiting and hoping she will be our mommy.. All but our first are AKC registered and have extensive and really great pedigrees...I have learned alot from your writings and found myself laughing and agreeing with you in alot of areas you covered..Thanks again for the info... |
