Fabulae - Casus Julii

Julius is ready. His hair blows in the crisp sea breeze.
There they are: his five hefty ships, chock full of slaves
to row them. Ah, he thinks, inhaling some of the wondrous
salty air, the adventure is about to begin!

A creature from the sea comes up from out of the water%2c and flips the slaves' boat over. No one has ever seen such a beast before%2c they panic%2c and head for the shore.
Then it disappears as fast as it appears.
A large black cloud hovers the sky ahead%2c it may be time to sail in another direction to avoid the storm.

But all of a sudden it becomes clear to Iulius, that he has
no choice: the current grows stronger and stronger only
into one direction: where the monster came from. It is as
if something is drawing..Or is it sucking...? A black strip
is visible now at the horizon. An island?

Actually, Julius was never a poet at all! He is an
adventurer. He is not scared of sea monsters and he is not
afraid of death. He is afraid of one thing only.
Unfortunately, that one thing was appearing on the horizon
ahead of them.
