| Comments: | wonder if you could help me. I was illegally adopted in 1954 (June 9th) and am looking for people
in the same situation as myself. I was wondering if any birth parents had any dealing with go betweens when having to hand over their babies or indeed anyone who was illegally registered like myself. Myself I was handed over by Nurse Doody, 84 Collins Ave, Dublin, Dr Keane and Mareece Hannan (almoner/social worker of the Coombe). My aim is to compile a list with hopefully a positive outcome in the near future. If anyone has any information or if the handing over of their baby was dealt with in similiar circumstances contact me. All correspondence will be treated in the strictest of confidence and I am willing to phone you if you would rather do that. I am particularly interested in the people involved in all of this although it would be a bonus if I ever found my birth mother as I have been searching since I found out only 9yrs ago. |

| Comments: | Hi I gave up my son who i named Gary burke,i will never forget the day i left the hospital empty lost and in so much pain i couldnt believe i had to leave my beautiful son behind after taking care of my angel for a week.my memory of this time is hard to remember so if anyone knows anything help me find my son please. birth name Gary Burke born at a hospital in Limerick Ireland. Gary was born july 8 1982 .I had to stay at a home for pregnant girls the name of the street i think was heartstone st,my name on the birth cert would be Linda Ann Burke Mother.If anyone knows how to go about this please e-mail me. I am poor and out of work at the moment so i would need free help.there is not a day goes by that i dont think of my son.Everytime for a long time after i gave my son away seeing a baby carrage or a baby i would just cry and cry. i can still see his beautiful face i miss and love you gary where ever you are. the only thing i have heard that my son went to a lovely couple farmers from somewhere around Limerick. | Comments: | My name is Harry J.D. I was born 22.12.1975. I have found out more about my adoption in the past few weeks than I have across my lidetime, but still don't know too much.
I have always been interested in know who my birth parents are, about their lives, why I was adopted, etc. and I am now officially searching for this information and more if applicable. This is what I know... I was born 22.12.1975. I believe Hollis St. hospital was at least associated with my birth or surrounded it in someway around that time. My birth mother decided to put me up for adoption wheather willingly or not and the adoption agency Cunamh was the one to deal with it. My birth mother was at the Good Shepherd mother & child home in Dunboyne which is no longer in operation and the records are presently held in the church of St. Peter & Paul, Dunboyne, where I was baptized on 6.1.'76 but I can't access the originals presently. I think that's basically all I know. I would at least like to be able to find out information in relation to my adoption if that's all I can do. However, I would like to proceed trough to meeting, but can accept whatever I can do according to the wishes of all concerned. I am 34, have a professional career in financial law my own house & family and have something missing in my life which are my initial origins. :-) Harry J.D. |
