I don't know if you had anything to do with dad being inducted, but if so THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts!!!!! We really didn't know growing up that you guys set so many records. We just knew we got to go racing alot. We were very lucky. If you have any old pics of dad or us I love to see them. It is really cool seeing old pics of him and seeing his name on stuff relating to racing. He has mentioned maybe the Wheeler Dealer being rebuilt or somthing and being raced in California next year. We love to come out for that. Look forward to hearing from you. Sincerly Kathy (superbrat).

I've got some pics of your car at Cecil County from 1968. A couple taken in the pits and one taken as the rail was being turned around at the starting line. Let me know if you'd like to see them.

I miss the days of the push starts for rails. The place would be dead quiet as the came towards the starting line and then the pop ignited and all hell broke loose. I always thought the Dealer and Jim & Alison Lee's dragster were some of the prettiest on the track.

I celebrated your years past yesterday with Julio Marra's brother Tony Marra's birthday and Fathers Day at the same time. Eating crabs and drinking beer. Talk about time flying, he was is my 7th grade science class in 1946 at Surrattsville High School. Remember Mary Surrats, John Booth, President Lincoln? Yes, the school was named after her. Some history huh? Hope you can make one of the "Reunions" this year. York is July 10-11, Old Dominion Dragway August 23, with a "Reunion" of the D.C. I am an automotive artist, but more importantly, a close friend of Bill Moeller who sent me some photos this morning of his rod and Indy photos that you had sent him. He and his wife Suzie are two of the most wonderful people in the world as far as I'm concerned. I belong to a group called the Automotive Fine Arts Society and each year the group exhibits at Pebble Beach and Bill, for MANY years, has been the "Savior" as far as getting the Exhibition set up.
Obviously, you have spent much time in Indianapolis...but also obviously, looking at your site, you found PARADISE!!! I noticed reading your bio, that you spent time at Dow AFB...I was born in Brewer, 67 years ago!!! Small world!! I always say to those I meet who know Bill and Suzie...so please say "Hi" for David Lord!..so if you'd be so kind!...and
Aloha to you and yours.

I ran the hot car loop (all push start cars and comp. class machinery) at Dallas International Motor Speedway from day one to the last race held there. If I remember right you qualified at the first national meet we held as D.I.M.S. but wound up as number one alternate because you went back to the motel thinking your qualifying time would stand.
P.S. That race was the first national meet where all of the qualifiers and the first two alternates were in the 6 second bracket.
Great Times- Thanks, Mike

I STILL HAVE A GOLD CLASS-WINNER FENDER COVER THAT ONE OF THE RACERS GAVE TO ME WHEN I WAS 12! ONE TIME I PICKED UP A PIECE OF GARLITS BLOWER THAT HAD EXPLODED AT THE STARTING LINE, AND WENT BACK TO THE PITS TO HAVE HIM SIGN IT. WHEN HE SAW THE PIECE HE SAID HE HAD TO KEEP IT TO SHOW THE MANUFACTURER WHERE IT BROKE - WHAT A BUMMER FOR A KID WHO WORSHIPED ALL THOSE FEARLESS RACERS! (INCLUDING BRUCE WHEELER, SOX AND MARTIN, DICK LANDY, THE SNAKE & MONGOOSE.) I STILL REMEMBER THE TIME BILLY MEYERS FIRST PULLED INTO THE TRACK WITH TRUCK AND OPEN TRAILER, THE ROLLERS IN THE STARTING AREA TO START THE FUELERS, THE FIRE & BLEACH BURNOUTS OF THE FIAT BODIED RAILS...I COULD GO ON ALL DAY BUT I BETTER NOT BORE EVERYONE TOO MUCH!

IF ANYBODY COULD HELP ME LOCATE POSTERS OR TIME SLIPS ETC. FROM LIONS, PLEASE FEEL FREE TO EMAIL ME AT DTRACY03@COMCAST.NET

As well, I'm looking forward to the next chapter in the further adventures of the "Wheeler Dealer" in S.F. and beyond. I finally got dragged away from Calif. by a couple of my grown sons, in late 2002. Originally to Charleston, So. Carolina, but now in Conway, Arkansas - still near two of "my Guys" and five of the six grandkids.

Comments:Hello,
My first drag race was at the Aquasco Speedway in Maryland, circa 1968-1970. The hardtop is still there and I believe the property 100+ acres is for sale. Anyway, was looking for "Aquasco" stuff on the web and got a hit on this site.

Comments:I grew up at Aquasco, Capitol and York. I think I saw every run you made at those tracks. I couldn't drive so my father would drop me off at the track when it opened and pick me up when the race was over. After seeing your pictures now, all I can think of is You, Ronnie Vito, Fred Fokner, George Reese, The Gunther Brothers, Gordon Tatum and Ron Still. (I raced with Ron, as a crew member, for 8 years TAD OLDS Motor)
Great pictures and memories, THANKS!
