| Comments: | Bobby, I remember you from when you would drop in to visit with Mary at Book Market in Milwaukee. I always thought you were funny, and I knew you went on to become famous though I wasn't a "fan" since I never had cable. In any case, I was going to be staying at the The Four Seasons Island Resort and I saw that Bobby Rivers was going to be there, and I thought, wow, I know him... Then I found out it was a musician, and not you. So, I Googled you, found this website and left this message to say hello. |

Hope you are doing well. I think that you are a very talented emcee and host. My friend and I were at lunch today and were reminiscing about your great ad-lib for "Luka" by Suzanne Vega on VH1. This song was in heavy rotation at the time and after the first 700 play- I was getting a bit sick of it. I recall that you had an adlib that almost made me cry laughing. After the video - you cut in with the comment (paraphrased): "That's Suzanne Vega with Luka. (Singing:)Everybody's doing a brand new dance now....c'mon baby do the Lukamotion... You gotta grab that kid now....but not too hard...." Classic. From that day on...you were known as "King" Rivers in our crappy little apartment. Hope this made you laugh. Thanks for the great memories and let me know where I can look for you next. All the best- Curt |

You crazy bastard...How the hell are you?? Do you recall that when I was at 'Hooligans' in Milwaukee with a rather hot young babe, name of Kim. that you walked up to me, kissed me and said, "Jim, are you dating women!" Another time I asked you if you'd write me a reference letter for a job as Alumni Coordinator at the University of Wisconsin...you wrote them one hell of a letter, wherein you said that I not only was trustworty and needed my own TV show, but, further that you would trust me with two Swedish airline stewardesses and a pound of butter... I lived in NYC in the West Village for 4 years and then up on 54th and 7th and I used to see you on a local NYC station. I am in LA working on a gig. Where the hell are you? Call me!!! 805-602-0113!!! luv ya!! ya crazy bastahd!! Jim |

Can you imagine me looking at the onion comedy video with the giant 75 foot crab and all of a sudden I reconize you? Back in the day, you worked at WISN, Ch. 12 here in Milwaukee where I live. Always wondered where you went. Although we never met, I'd see you at the Park Avenue CLub on Sunday nights (way back in the 80s) when I went there with my good friend Donald. You sure seemed happy and danced up quite a storm. And always a smile. Congrats on all your success...a real far cry from Ch. 12. Good luck and the best to you and the onion!!! Carol |

Problem is, you are much too smart, funny, clever and progressive for American TV. Maybe they will catch up with you one day....how about 'Comedy Central?' I will always remember you for one crazy news segment where a couple [in NJ i think] won a new Chevy. You went to the house when the car was delivered and only the 'mother-in-law' was at home. You suggested she 'try out' the new car by sitting behind the steering wheel. She said, "I don't drive." You said, [paraphrasing], "Well you sit in the back, I'll drive. We'll play 'Driving Miss Daisy.'" The poor woman was totally flummoxed! Then you said: "I must warn you, I drive like Oksana Baiul." To this day, tears come to my eyes when I just THINK about that segment. This screwed-up, up-tight world needs YOU! May the Force Be With You, (Ms.) Dana Turner |

| Comments: | Hi Bobby! I checked out your blog on Cyd and that priceless film of her and Palmer C. You're right, it's very hard to believe he's a dancer, and a good one, at that! Dance style has sure changed - I wonder how Cyd would keep up with the latin-spin these days in ballroom, and all the hip-hop influence, haha.. Funny thing about Cyd - contestants with that long of legs (hers are the longest in history, I think) can't maneuver very well. She has no problem with that! Are you watching the new season of SYTYCDance? It moves me to tears! I can't believe people can dance like that, and the emotion they evoke (from me, at least) just overpowers me. I have favorites already, but those could change. I like Katie and Joshua and Carrington and Twitch. Take good care!

Is there any way to configure your webpage so that we can get a direct link to your blog page without having to go thru the front page then the menu page.? so for example if i want to link a reference from it DIRECTLY TO YOUR BLOG from my blog or if you leave a comment on another blog and your name hyperlinks DIRECTLY back to your blog page? is that possible.Once there of course people could browse around and see the rest of the fabulous stuff you have but as far as blogging goes It would make that cyber-communication quicker and easier.

| Comments: | Hey Bobby,
I am writing to let people know. I met Bobby on a flight to Las Vegas on Nov 15 2006. When I ask him if his name was Bobby he replied yes. And then told me his full name. The rest is history. We started talking about the Comic Relief Comedy Show. It was like talking to a friend I new all my life. He is such a gentleman. I ask him if he can get me tickets to the Comedy show in Vagas. He said, give me your name and where are you staying .I'll try my best. Of course the show was sold out. When I returned home from vacation with my wife on Nov 21. There was an e-mail from Bobby. Saying he tried up to the day of the show but unfortunately he wasn't unable to get tickets. HE REALLY DIDN'T HAVE TO DO THAT BUT HE DID. I would like to personally say THANK YOU. I hope people get a chance to meet Bobby. a NEW fan Jack R. |

I used watch VH1 back in the late-80's when I was a grad student at Purdue University, W. Lafayette, IN. Your interviews and positive approach were really refreshing during my early days in the U.S. The other day, my daughter was watching your "Top 5" show on our Home TV (Food Network) (Swetts episode where you praised Oven Gourmet) and the moment I saw your face; I was suddenly taken back to my mid-twenties. Now that I found you, I also have to find Ben Sidran's Jazz Shows that I used to record on videotapes on Sunday nights. You still look great. Always smile and keep up the good work ! Thank you and best regards, Varol |

| Comments: | And another thing...Say you're a Supreme Court Justice. Georgie Porgie Bush fucks up the Sandra Day nom by going with Roberts. THEN the Chief Justice dies. What GPB is proposing is the same as a rookie congressman expecting to show up for the first day of school and be Speaker of the House. Um...no. Look at the Constitution Congressmen -- the SC candidates are supposed to be suggested to the President who then picks and appoints with Congress' advice, then Hearings are held to CONFIRM. When did Congress take a nap and let the President start picking the judges? Another thing, the Chief Justice basically has the same type power that the President does -- just on a different level. Why does a rookie judge deserve this? It's fine if Roberts still goes for hearings but there now needs to be another hearing for another judge (look at the women only this time GPB) and yet another to promote one of the existing SC judges to CJ. Stop being such a lazy redneck brainless fuck and either lead this country or GO THE FUCK HOME! |

I watch you on the food network and was interested to know more about you so I goolged you and came to this website. I now read your blog once a week and play catch up if I am not able to get to it for whatever reason (brand new baby = exhausted) Anyway, I think you are right on re: New Orleans disaster. I feel ashamed as an American that there is such thing as an American refugee. I did not vote for Bush but take some responsibility, as I should have done more in my community to empower my people (Mexican-American) to vote and get him out of office. Well, I will keep my rant to a minimum and say the one thing that is evident to me is that not much has really changed in the South and that is shameful. I hope that all these displaced, overlooked, and mistreated people realize that they DO have a voice and they begin to used it. PS I think you are great! Thanks |
