Jim, What a pleasant surprise to enter genoabay.net and be transported direct to you! Back on the 'emerald isle' .... we see from the map that you are close to Druid ruins, must be great for finding 'relics'. :-) One problem, you appear to have settled close to the 'wrong' distillery. Very warmest regards to you and Grace, Cam and Pat

Jim, I doubt you'll remeber me, however I used to crew for Sam McKinley out of Northern Harbour on Lil Annie. Ann and I are currently considering buying a boat and that was how I came to your site. I recall enjoying an Irish Mist on board Amazing Grace during LOWISA in the late 80's and thought I'd say hello. Sorry to hear you're not building boats anymore, you certainly have the skill required! I hope it was personal choice and not because of health! Take care and Ann sends greetings to you and Grace.

Very nice site and inspiring photos. I'd love to find space and time to build a boat like these one day! My wife and I almost bought a huge Malahide Trawler a few years back (to live on!) but plans had to change - but there is no doubt in my mind that wooden boats are definitely very beautiful and just feel right (+ warm and strong!). Your boats are absolutely gorgeous to look at.

Hello Jim:

Well, after a season or two of dithering, Northern Traveller is now firmly on the market, as we are looking for a larger boat. Asking price is $30,000.00 Cdn., and her condition is pretty much "as new" - she has had meticulous upkeep and many upgrades since new. She has the best of everything - Anderson winches, Gori folding prop, Hall quickvang, BMW diesel, Garmin mapping GPS, Icom VHF, awesome sail inventory, etc etc. I have tons of pictures, a full spec sheet, and of course a complete history of the boat, including her plans and the video set of her construction. I hope someone who appreciates fine yachts will be able to give her a new home. Here is a chance to own a unique custom yacht in pristine condition for the price of a used production boat!

Hi Jim:

Hope things are going well for you in Bushmills. After much deliberation, we have made a decision to look for a bigger keelboat for our growing (and aging) family. This means Northern Traveller is available to a sailor looking for one of your nautical masterpieces. The asking price is $36,000.00 Cdn, and I would be happy to supply (even more) pictures and details to interested parties. Traveller is in superb condition, having had meticulous maintenance and many upgrades since she left your shop in Kenora.

with best wishes,
