Comments: Hi there, I do eBay and met a customer from Italy and was surfing to find a picture of where we too were stationed as father Dana B. Turner was a Chief Master Sergeant in the Air Force and we lived there in Lucrino for about seven years total but during two stays.
I came upon your most beautiful site by happenstance or perhaps not according to our Father in Heaven.... and I could not help but catch your references to Carney Park "Oh what wonderful and fond memories and someone else that I now know experienced with much joy as well.
Pozzuoli and shoe alley too!!
Then there was indeed Pompeii and the cracking of the roads during our one hour drive from the base to our home at Parco Tripergola in Lucrino just up the street from a playground er aahh I mean Piazza and the volcano playground just behind our triple tiered housing complex.
I am now 47 and have an eleven year old son with whom I share these fond memories and truly hope I can take him to these places some day... For now they along with Jesus will stay forever in my heart.
Thank you for sharing your lovely and well orchestrated web site what fun!!! Blessings from my home to yours,Toni

Comments: A brilliant, fascinating and very instructive site illustrated with superb photos and map locations. As a speaker to schools and societies on this place and also Herculaneum I found yet more information to add to my talks.
I first went to the site in the late 1940`s when I visited Naples with the Royal Navy, (we had been on exercise with the US 6th Fleet!).
I was fascinated then and I am still fascinated today and still manage to visit occassionally. Thank you both.

Comments: I am researching Pompeii for a program I have been assigned to present in October 2008 to a study club, Argonauts, in Pryor, Oklahoma where I live. I enjoyed your website immensely. I have always been intrigued by the area because of a newspaper photo I saw years ago. The photo in The Tulsa World daily newspaper (Tulsa, OK) showed an acheologist's work. The remains of a family of three, all nestled spoon-fashion with a man on the outside holding a woman holding a child. The man wore a ring decorated with a fish symbol. I've always thought of this photo as an illustration of how a person can be a witness for Christ even thousands of years after his death. I have that clipping somewhere and pray I can find it to display when I give my program. Is your website copyrighted and do I need your permission to print material from it? Thank you.

I was particularly looking for a floor tile mosaic of a skeleton enscribed "Know Thyself" in Latin of course. I was wondering where it was found, in a doctors office possibly? I have a scan of the mosaic if you might like to see it. Do you recall seeing it? Is it nwo in the museum?

One of them is a cross formed with two words: "Christ saves" of cause not in english but something like "Kristos sotire" (I'm not sure of right way of writing). If You have image of that mosaic please send me. I need it for apologetics against Jehovah witnesses whos dont believe in Crusifiction of Our Lord on Cross.

I was able to achieve my childhood dream of going there in 2004, and while I have wonderful memories of meandering around with a basic tour book, your information would have made it even more educational and fullfilling. But, then again, the reading and viewing of your site and the memories of my own trip help to expand my vision of the city. I had the joy of visiting the city in 1999 during a brief break from working with the church of Christ in Elbasan, Albania. It was the fulfillment of a schoolboy dream. I only ever made the visit once and so only saw about half the site. I would love to go back, but now back in the UK it is not possible. So your Web pages will be a great help for me.

Comments: Your grandson is a very handsome little boy. Enjoy being with them each presious moment you have with them. They do grow up so fast, it seems. My Robert is now 52. grand daughter 19, and grandson 20. Both in college full time, and working full time.

June said I coould view Granny's doll on your Web site. So far, I've been unable to find it.

Thank you so very much for preserving so much of my past history. Russell and I really appreciate you and your family. Richard dosen't remember much about Granny and Grandpa Hunt. My memory of them was 1934.

Your album of your grandchild was adorable, the slide show of Pompei, Italy; along with all the interesting dialogue was enlightening to me. I took my granddaughter to Italy last year, but it was such a hurried trip with a group and we went from one end of Italy to another. Rome was rough walking with all those stone streets. I believe the guide told us that this was the third Rome- built on top of others.

Wow! What a wonderful and amazing site about pompei and what a fantastic job did you!! It took me 2 days to read and translate everything and I couldn`t stop it. As you can read, I`m a german and english is not my native language. I couldn`t use the automatically translation which google provides, it`s too funny and makes no sense at all.
I learned a lot about pompei ( and english ) and the ancient times and I`ll spend my next vacation there. Italy is just two hours away by aircraft.
Again, thanks a lot and may god bless you and your family.

Best wishes from germany, Rainer Becker, 55, Police Cpt. ret.

My father, Owen Matthew has traced our genealogy back to Baron Tunison Kool, who came from the Netherlands in approx. 1640's. Of course he has all the records and information, but it seems to me that we have no relation. (Although I speculate over the Tuma surname as Baron Kool's father was known as Peter Tunis.) I will send him your URL for him to see if there may be some connection.

They did however mention a mysterious religion that held secret meetings and had a savior who promised a pleasurable afterlife if followed. Your site is excellent and just what I was looking for. Thanks for the time and effort. It was fantastic and expounded so much on what I had been curious. Thanks so much.

Comments: Hi,

I stumbled upon your web page, whilst looking for a map of Lago Patria about two days ago. My name is Duncan Crone, I am serving in Naples with my wife Jeannie for the Royal Navy. I joined here in May 2005 but will be leaving in November 2008. Your web pages and letters home make for great reading, I can relate to them. What's strange is that you were posted to Naples some time ago, and nothing has changed here. Many of the incidences that you described have happened to myself too.

If you could provide your e-mail I will take a picture of your old house and send it to you as I live in Lago Patria just down from the GF supermarket on the four laner.

Great Web Pages, very interesting.

Kind Regards

Duncan and Jeannie

My digital camera had problems with the memory card and I needed to recover all the pictures in a photo lab. This never happened before.
I don´t know but there are a lot of mysteries around that place and you described very well in your home page.
Tks and bye
