I found my first Thomas Dam piggy bank at the value village and almost stopped breathing. it costed me about 1.99. since then my family have found them all over, garage sales, goodwills, value villages, and even the salvation army. funny thing though, when they started looking and buying them up there was a lot of them. now you cant even find a naked one.. love to hear from you . dac. |

Hi melnik. I remember when I was younger, and when I had first discovered the internet and all it's uses, I found your website. Now, I am a little older, and I was just searching round on the internet for troll stuff, and I came accross your website again, it always brings a smile to my face. I think the trolls you "Customized" were wonderful, I make my own trolls, and know how satusfying it is to "Rescue" a troll in need. I used to do that too, I used to live in england and went to every car boot sale, and Flea market and charity store I could find, an with ALOT of luck. I got trolls for outstandingly cheap prices, I even scored a mouse troll from Rauls or Plastech for 1 pound at a car boot sale. Now, I live in Holland, and down here we have a lot of antique stores and a large indoor flea market twice a year. I remebr going last year, and seeing a mint condition Dam troll cow still with tag for 10 euros, very cheap, I really regret not buying it. I recently went to an antique store in Utrecht ( a city that I live near), and purchased 4 large norweigen trolls for 50 euros, I bargained with the guy at the store, and he sold them to me for 20 euros cheaper. One of them was number 111, from the 1960s, with tag still attached, one of the first Norweigen trolls made. I also got a fosse troll, the fisher, and two others. Every time I buy a troll, it makes me feel satisfied that I have saved it. I was surprised to see you also made your own scrapbook, I did too, but I don't have it anymore. What I do have still, is other troll stuff, a troll sound book, a troll diary, key chains and other stuff. If you would like I could send you some photos of my trolls. I am sure you would be interested to see them, I have ALOT. over 800 (including the small ones). I will keep them for the rest of my life. If i do send photos, you have permission to put them on your website., that is if you have space. a few years back I got into contact with Minna Kuuskoski, the daughter of the creator of the Fauni trolls. I believe they now live in North Carolina. they sent me a packet up, with all sorts of information about the trolls. I thought it was nice of them. I might purchase an old original Fauni troll off of a dutch eBay called marktplaats. He is 22cm tall!! I also know alot about the troll brands, like Soma, forest trolls and Uneeda. It interests me alot. Do you also know where I could purchase a Debra clark price guide. I believe it is an older book now.Maybe on eBay? Thank you very much, hope to hear from you soon!!
