| text: | So I just started watching Lost. The wife and I are watching it on our TV through Netflix--just finished season 2.
It took me a while, but I now know where I know Terry from (I think.) I think I used to wait on him in a bar in Johnstown, Pa where I worked from 2000-circa 2006. All I knew is that he was a super nice guy. I had no idea who he was then but it turns out he was in a film called "All the Right Moves" that was filmed in Johnstown so it kinda makes sense that he would be in Johnstown (maybe.) But here is the kicker; he said he was moving to Hawaii and told me I should go out there and get a job tending bar--said I would fit right in. So as I learn more about him, the series, and I look at him onscreen, I'm (kinda) totally convinced that it was him that I used to wait on. And if my memory serves me correctly he drank drafts of Yuengling lager and ate seafood whenever he came in. So how do I send him a letter to see if this really was him and if he knows of any bars in Hawaii that might be looking for a bartender? |

my favorite The Stepfather 2009. Please have him see my review, posted as jimboyc. It reads: It is said the original is always better and in this case that is right although I do think if it had to be remade/updated dialog and technology for today's audience that it was done true to form. What made the 1987 original better was the convincing attitude and fantastic "Bing Crosby" soft voice of Terry O'Quinn. I compared the two since I'm such a fan of the first. Really liked Sela Ward's performance and the ending fight scenes were first class. "Daddy" wants perfection and this fell short. Anyway tell Terry he has a fan in Silver Spring Maryland, and I think he may be from this state originally. He really is a great actor. The Original Stepfather!! At least the new version did not copy his nuances like the "Camp Town Races" he whistled as he walked away from the crime. Truly a superb touch. | text: | My huband and I were in Hawaii on our honeymoon and we kept hoping we would see one of the LOST actors since they tape the show there. On our way home, we saw Terry in the airport lounge. We were freaking out because Locke is our favorite character! We went up to him and asked for a photo and autograph which he graciously agreed to. He was the nicest person ever! His blue eyes are amazing in person!!! Later, we found out that he was on our flight sitting 3 rows in front of us! When we were leaving the plane I said goodbye to him and he said "it was nice to meet you Nina." He remembered my name! I love him!!!! |
