Comments:Greyeyes, I had to laugh because I suggested that you email me and I put the wrong email address. It is dwchickasaw@att.net Over the weekend a Choctaw elder came to my city to speak at the Healing Center close to my home. His name is Rainbow Eagle and he is an amazing person, down to earth but very knowledgeable. And I say amazing because he is such a positive person, he approached the conversation not from a position of anger but instead with the light of gratitude. He talked about giving thanks for all that is and was and will be. He said that in the Indian way, "Life experiences are not seen as either bad or good. They are simply experiences that teach us." For many of us historical grief overshadows our ability to talk about the past with any objectivity. But you know what? Rainbow Eagle set me free from all of that anger and sadness by doing exactly that. To see someone who has moved past those feelings to a place where he can look objectively at everything and talk about it peacefully and look toward where we are going in the future gave me a sense of peace that I can not even describe. Not only did he talk about the Peace Shield, he also talked about quantum physics (which I have a particular interest in), and the exciting things the future is going to bring based on the prophesies of many different tribes. It was an enlightening presentation and a fun evening. Currently I am reading one of his books, "Native American Spirituality: A Walk In The Woods" and anyone can access his website at www.rainboweagle.com Well, the summer is almost over. Gone to any good Pow-wows this summer Michael? Been enjoying life? I hope so. Take care, Sky

Comments:Hi Greyeyes, Finally the weather has cooled down in this part of the country and I've been enjoying life. My friends and I go play tennis (we call it Indian tennis, we don't know the "official" rules) and I take my daughter to the park to play or I walk for exercise. The other day we went to this place called the Butterfly House and Michael it was so beautiful...tropical flowers everywhere and butterflies of all different shades floating around in this indoor heaven. It was one of the most beautiful things I have ever see, it was like walking into a dream. I've been reading a book recently about the Hopi Prophecies and another one called Dreamtime & Inner Space. We are so all related and I wish we could all connect more as humans. What about you? Do you ever e-mail your friends (I say "friends" because we are both Indian and "fans" seems weird.) This is okay, I guess, to send you messages, but it seems so one-sided. I know a lot of women write here about how gorgeous your are, and yes you are, but it's more than that--you seem like a cool human. Really, I'd like to be friends, nothing weird--I'm already married. E-mail me sometime if you get a chance. If not, that's alright...it's just that I live in a part of the country where there aren't many Indians and I miss having friends I can relate to on another level. Who knows, maybe you don't even read these comments. For some reason I believe that we are supposed to be friends, I had a dream about you before. You know, I wonder about something...everyone has dreams with people that they don't know or have never even seen before, right? I wonder if all of our spirits are connecting in the dream world--and if so, maybe you have seen me there before. Maybe we dreamt each other together at the same time. Wouldn't that be a trip (smile.) Well, take care-- Sky

Comments:Greyeyes, hey-what's going on? Today it is like crazy hot outside so I am taking a break from my day and just sitting here, sipping green tea with cinnemin and watching videos on You Tube. That German woman's comment stuck with me for some reason, and I want to enlighten her or at least pass on some food for thought. Actually there are some videos that I think would help her see us more realistically. On You Tube: 1) Red Works Studio>Promo 2 2) Hope On The Rez 3) The Wolfpack...What Really "Went Down" 4) and just for fun, Two girls singing Indian Car (it's hilarious, they are serious as a heart attack and I guess that's the joke) Anyway I hope you are staying cool where ever you are and enjoying your life. And to the lady in Germany, "Sometimes the illusion has to be broken to get to the deeper meaning of things." Take Care, Dream

Comments:Hey Greyeyes, Just checking in. I see that recently comments have been posted twice in your Dreambook. Last time I wrote I sent my message and it didn't appear to have gone through. So I tried to write a condensed version of my original thoughts and so anyway, someone in computer-land (smile) should fix that. Anyways I just read the last comment from a woman from Germany, and I'm sure she didn't mean any harm...because I know people do try to connect with their hearts and may not quite understand everything about us enough to see us clearly. It matters that people care about our Indian population, it matters that we as humans connect with each other regardless of race. I'm so glad that Obama got elected, because he is a symbol of change, and beauty, and hope that diversity can exist together and work towards a common goal. With that said, I don't think that it is completely true to say that "The present is sad." Just like with any people,it is sad for some, and joyful for others. We all experience sadness for the pain that our ancestors experienced as well as that of our modern day relatives. But we experience joy too. For the beauty, for the knowledge, for our cultures, and our children, our art, our music, our laughter, our complexities. Yes there is some alcoholism, but many cultures suffer from substance abuse. By no means does it define the whole population. And I know these things she mentioned have historical significance for our people, but we are not without free will. We have choices, and sometimes the sadness is so deep that we make poor choices. But any family who struggles with these kinds of issues hurts. Also, there is unemployment due to a lack of jobs on the reservations, yes but jeez--look at the economy, many are suffering. I know the reasons are different. I know that within the Dominant Society reservations are likened to "Third World" countries, and I'm not denying the poverty or the suffering. Of course many things do need to change for our people, but as for "No Future" ,I don't think that's fair. I have an amazing future. As amazing as I choose it to be, as amazing as the Creator chooses for it to be for me. "Amazing" can mean many different things to many different people. I know that our children have futures, just as all children do--futures complex and full of challenges that will teach them about who they are and what they are made of. And they are strong, they are beautiful, because they belong to the Creator who is the same. Yes, we are being colonized, but there are some things inside of us that no-one will ever be able to change. Yes, we experienced a Holocaust of our own. But we shall remain. Peace, Dreamy

But, I am also very interested in the history and culture of the natives of America since I was a little girl. I have read much about it. What a people! I'm fascinated by them. The present is sad. Alcohol, unemployment, no future. How can they survive as a people? America, this nation is a importent part of your history! And these people impressed many many people around the world. Sorry, my English is terrible. I come from Germany. I wish, I could express everything exactly, what I think. But my words are very simply.

Comments:Greyeyes, Hey how's it going? I just finished watching the last part of the series We Shall Remain, about Wounded Knee in the 70's. The entire series was important to watch and I think the director Chris (not Jason, sorry) did a good job of creating a sense of the collective history that our people share in this country. When people refer to us as "the Indians" it has always seemed to me such a vague way to describe a group of people whose tribes were and are very diverse. But what I liked about the Tecumseh and Wounded Knee segments is that they talked about Native peoples as a United group. That seems so real to me because our tribes do have so much in common. We all survived for thousands of years respecting the group, not only the individual. We cared for our Mother Earth and the animals and did not seek to destroy that which sustains us. We worked, sang, played the drum, danced, prayed, and healed in similar ways. And then we all experienced being conquered and colonized in similar ways. When we look into each others eyes, we do understand one another. There's much more I could say but instead just know that people watched and it hurt but it helped. Take care. Dream Woman

Comments:Greyeyes, Hey--how's it going? I just watched the last segment of We Shall Remain, about Wounded Knee in the 70's. Even though it was hard to watch, I think the director Chris (not Jason, sorry) should be proud of the entire series because for the first time I got a collective sense of what happened in this country to our people. Even though I knew to some degree, well...I guess I know more now. When people describe us they talk about "the Indians" and it has always seemed to me such a vague way to group together Human Beings that were and are so diverse. But in the Tecumseh and Wounded Knee segments they talked about Native peoples as being a United group and I thought that was beautiful because we do have in common the shared experience of tribal ways that enabled us and the earth to survive for thousands of years. Beautiful ways of honoring each other, Grandmother Earth, and the Creator. And we also share the trauma of being conquered and having to survive as a colonized people. Yes, I think we understand each other. I went to a Sundance and the Medicine Man said that in one way we are a traumatized people. You know, he was right. It seems so strange to have to live and exist within the culture that conquered your people. It seems strange to watch the Earth being destroyed when there are things that can be done to prevent it. And it makes me sad that even though the Creator made all humans, that we have these walls that separate us and cause strife. When I see an Indian person laugh or smile it just makes me grin inside, it makes me happy. Because despite everything we still possess joy. Songs heal as well and the drum makes us strong inside. Dancing sets you free. And seeing your own face in the faces of others is beautiful. I look at my daughter and I tell her everyday that she is sooo beautiful. Everywhere she goes people tell her that too, so I make sure to let her know that beauty comes from within. I tell her that if you are ugly inside no-one will even notice the outter beauty. Also there is more than one way to be beautiful on the outside, our diversity makes us complex and interesting. Beauty inside and outside have to go together to make a Human Being. There is so much more I could say, but I guess some of these things we have to work out in our souls. These feelings that you wish you could share or talk about just to get them out. Tell Chris that people watched and that we thank all of you guys. Take it easy. Dream Woman

Comments:Greyeyes, You know, I watched Tecumseh's Vision, and it affected me in a deep way. The director,(Jason, I think) talked about hoping to reach out to the younger generation and give them a sense of history, a sense of self because alot of our "heroes" today are people who have nothing to do with our culture and you know, he's right. But after watching Tecumseh's story and realizing this is someone who stood up for my Chickasaw people and many other tribes, it makes me sad because I have heard his name but I never knew any of that. When I was in college (at a school that used to be an Indian boarding school a long time ago) there was an American Indian History class being taught by a white man. He was a nice person, but the wrong person for the job. I started challenging things he was saying (not to be rude, but I wanted him to tell the truth and to be fair and respectful.) And he started just sitting back waiting for me to take over the class, in a sense, it was like he didn't even want to really teach the class. I didn't want to teach it either, I was there to learn, because there was so much I didn't know. I've educated myself, regarding our history, to a certain degree but I'm adopted and so I don't have elders passing on oral histories. And to learn about someone like Tecumseh it moved me. But it also made me sad...I'm reading a book by the first Navajo woman surgeon called The Scalpel and the Silver Bear and she talks about us as Indians having "historical grief." I guess that's an easy way to sum up those feelings that ache to the depths of your soul, the wrongness of it all, and the what did we do to deserve all of that questions. The feelings that a group of people looked at our Beauty and felt it was less or felt it was more and wanted to destroy it, instead of appreciating us as equals and working together. Anyways, when I watched you perform and looked into your eyes, you looked different this time. I would have to guess that this role meant the most to you out of all of the roles you have played. I saw that historical grief in your eyes too, you have the same look as me, unbearable sadness that has to be beared. Even with these feelings, you can still look around and see beauty. Nothing is perfect, only beautiful. I have a three year old daughter, she's Aztec & Chickasaw and watching her I can't stay sad for long. We carry those feelings with us, but the Creator still is a part of our lives everyday. Take Care and thanks brother, Dream Woman

Comments:Hi Greyeyes, I wrote a message on your "fan" page, it seems a little silly all of this computer stuff...and sorry I didn't realize that you are married. I've watched you in movies for awhile now and have seen you occasionally on different TV shows. You possess a beautiful spirit, larger than life...you know how it is, there are just certain people like that. And like they say, a man must first be gentle to be strong. I guess that's what I see in your eyes. It must be weird to be an actor and have people write to you and feel like they know you in a sense, or make comments. I don't know, as Indians we are more of a face-to-face people and so using the computer is strange to me. It blows my mind that you can see someone who is appealing to you (in whatever way, the physical or the spirital way) and that you can contact them. It's like I've always thought about you in the way that I would love to talk to you, yes you are beautiful, but it's more than that. My favorite movie is Crazy Horse, it really had an effect on my life for reasons maybe I could relay to you in person one day if I ever see you at a pow-wow or something, it's personal. My whole life people have always focused on my looks and I've had alot of admirers, I'm sure it's the same for you...but there is just so much more to life and the spiritual world. Nothing is perfect, only beatiful...and that applies to so much. Man, I have amazing dreams and I've dreamt of you before. Now that it a trip, you know, to dream of someone and to wake up feeling like you know them now because you went thru an experiece with them--even though it was in another dimension, or the dream world, whatever you want to call it. Anyways, take care dude. Oh, and my favorite song right now is "Everything" by Lifehouse, listen to on You Tube or something...I think you would really like it because it is a beautiful song. Later, Dream Woman, Chickasaw

I want to know how it ends. I gathered it ended happy but, I want a description of what happened. The last thing I saw was Anna and her husband sitting by the fireplace. My tape cut off right before either of them spoke. I think she was going to say she was going back to the Indian Camp to be with Tokalah. Can someone e-mail me with details of the ending. I really want to know what happened. The film captured me totally. A Fan Lora

Comments:Hello you two. What an incredible thing I have encountered. That is the fan base for Michael Greyeyes! I am a new fan and must admit have not been a fan of anyone since the Beatles back in 1964. I have realised that I am not alone in feeling the amazing attraction to Michael which I felt when watching an afternoon movie recently on my day off. Stolen Women was billed in my TV guide as worth a watch because of the actors but that the story wasn't up to much. I wasn't disappointed - what an lovely persona Michael is from the moment he came on screen. Ok he was dressed as an Indian and showing his wonderful torso but it soon became obvious that his acting ability and sheer charisma was there in bucket loads. I was spellbound then my son came in and as son's do just interupted and I had to turn the film off. I really want to get a copy but have tried and it is not available in the UK. Maybe someone can help out there? Anyway back to the man. I am not surprised that he has such a following but do find it amazing that he is not bigger than he is. He deserves to be up there in the Hollywood fermament. Good luck to you and your website - Greylands is great fun. Hope to see more of Michael over here in the Uk.

Comments:Michael Greyeyes is a breath of fresh air in acting. I had never seen him before until I saw him in "Captured Hearts"- Stolen Women. He is quite an amazing actor, and handsome also. I would like to keep up with his acting talents, and hope to see him again soon. I sincerely like him, and he comes across very well, and has a sexy quality, to say the least. I would not be afraid to be captured by him. What a good looking American Indian!! It is too bad that our ancestors treated these people without respect. They deserve every ounce of respect that we can give them. Mr. Greyeyes shows how talented his people are. I would love to meet him and discuss his life and his ancestors' life. It would be truly interesting!!

Comments:MICHAEL, WEEKS PAST, I WATCHED STOLEN WOMEN, AND I WAS AUTOMATICALLY DRAWN TO YOUR CHARACTER. THE WAY YOU CARRIED OUT YOUR CHARACTER WAS AMAZING. THE AGGRESSIVENESS, AND TENDERNESS WAS PORTARAYED PERFECTLY. NOT MANY ACTORS CAN PULL THAT OFF, NOT EVEN NEAR IT. ANYWAYS, I DIDN'T CATCH YOUR NAME, SO A COUPLE OF DAYS AGO, I DID SOME SEARCHING UNDER LIFETIME MOVIE NETWORK AND FOUND THE EXACT NAME OF THE MOVIE, AND THROUGH ALITTLE MORE EXTENSIVE SEARCHING I FOUND YOU. I HAVE TO SAY, I AM VERY IMPRESSED WITH YOUR BACKGROUND. YOU ARE A VERY SMART, TALENTED MAN, WHO HAS THE SUPPORT FROM HIS FAMILY, AND FANS. I READ THE FIRST 50 COMMENTS IN YOUR GUESTBOOK ON YOUR OFFICIAL SITE. YOU ARE DEFINATELY ADORED BEYOND MEASURES. I WANT TO WISH YOU CONTINUED SUCCESS NOW, IN THE FUTURE AND ALWAYS. I LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING MORE OF YOUR MOVIES. I WAS ALSO GLAD TO FIND TITLES OF THE MOVIES YOU HAVE MADE IN THE PAST. I FOUND GERONIMO, CRAZY HORSE, AND STOLEN WOMEN. I ORDERED THEM AND AM LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING THEM. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK, AND REMEMBER YOU HAVE ANOTHER FAITHFUL FAN IN TEXAS. YOUR AN INSPIRATION TO US ALL, TINA

Comments:I logged onto MG's fan page because I saw his performance in Stolen Women and I was 'impressed' greatly by Michaels acting. He totally embodied that character. What a fantastic actor. He managed to capture my attention, which i dont think is easily caught. In a day when there are so many movies out there, the world is swamped and awash with movies and actors all vying for centre stage. Technical advances and far reaching special effects all competing at an alarming pace to keep up with what directors and producers think that is what we all want, and yet this simple story of a sioux warrior and a dream he had as a child [which is based loosely on a true story]about a white woman that he falls in love with, is really fresh, and tastefully 'underdone'. It was a film you could connect with. After seeing Michael Greyeyes in that particular movie, I would be interested in seeing more of his work when I get the chance! He is an actor with wow factor, move over all the old 'has beens and well knowns', who dont really have what it takes anyway, here is a class act. A new fan from England

Comments:Would like to know where to purchase a copy of "STOLEN WOMEN, CAPTURED HEARTS," made for TV [Lifetime Movie Network,} which I don't get here in DE. Our cable company does not have a contract with LMN. Our neighboring state -- Maryland cable does have LMN. Proud to know there is another Canadian out there, especially Michael Greyeyes. He is excellent at his craft and hoping he will continue his success.
