I go to University of Wisconsin River Falls and I bring him up in all of my English classes and only a couple of people know who he is. I am just in shock, so I spread the word about his Xanth series whenever I can! I think he needs more recognition. :) I just plain love his work. I have almost the complete Xanth series (up to #23) plus some! Keep on going man and I will keep on reading.
I never read a book until junior year of high school when I decided to read a book for my class that my mom picked up from a thrift sale, the famous Ogre, Ogre! I had posted before about my recipes for food based on the Xanth novels. My children found them amusing when they were little. (they still do, but are much "cooler" about it now) I have several, and, if anyone is interested, I was thinking of posting them on my website. Maybe Magician Humphrey could let me know how to get on the webring if I do that. I have also had people send me recipes they have invented, and would love to include them too, with all due credit given. I was thinking of calling it "Castle Roogna's Kitchen" but I'm open to suggestions. And BTW, I have lived in florida for 14 years and never found my way into Xanth, either. Not for lack of trying! |
