Comments:very nice website. I have a breeding pair of a swamp and river buff. They have done very well here in San Antonio and I've sold many calves over the years. They came from the Turkey Creek Ranch. It is more of a hobby for me as I discovered them in Southeast Asia a long time ago. The bull and cow are more like pets to us, lol. Good Luck and God Bless, Joe Donald

Comments:Enjoyed the informative and well constructed web site. I don't own any water buffalo at this time. They are called carabao on Guam. I just got interested in them as the US Navy is killing the wild 'feral' carabao that roam the southern end of the island. A group of local people "Chamorros" are trying to adopt these animals from the government to save them. I am passing this info to others so they can see just how beneficial these animals can be. Again, great website!!

Comments:I'm 31 years old and grew up on a small farm in Missouri. We farmed 200 acres cosisting mainly of livestock production. We started with sheep and beef cows, then added hogs and got out of the sheep. Farrowed to finished hogs until the early 1980's when the price dropped. Finished fat cattle until late 80's. Then converted to dairy until late 90's. Therefore trying everything and unable to support a families needs we were forced to quit and seek other employement. Since then I've always been interested in finding a profitable, exotic nitch to help me return to farm. But due to the high cost of most exotics and very unpridictable market I haven't jumped on any thing yet. And I haven't found a wealthy farm owner that wants to pay an attractive salary to a caretaker.

Comments:Enjoyed your site. I am happy to raise and meet other people interested in the preservation of all creatures. Blessings to you and your family and may the Great Spirit grant you the patience, and understanding to continue raising these magnificant creatures. AHO! Thank-you for the information, raising water buffalo seems more difficult than raising bison. I am not sure if any Native American languages have a specific name for Water Buffalo? Our white calf was named Wahosi by Chief Arvol Looking Horse she is the 9th Sacred White Buffalo Calf, and he is the 19th generation Keeper of the Sacred White Buffalo Calf Woman's Peace Pipe and Bundle Do traditional Indian Religions look upon the Water Buffalo as Sacred Animals?
