Any one who reads this and still has links with the school point it out to the current principal. Im know the students and teachers would get a thrill hearing a top fuel dragters come to life on his way to his mny trips to Qld. In fact half the town would show up. |

| Comments: | I attended GIHS 1988-1992, then went to Inverell for my HSC, and siblings, Kim, Ashley, and Lindsey also went to GIHS. What lasts from my time there, is lasting memories of three inspiring, humorous, committed, and interesting teachers from that era: Mr Guy Pitkin (drama); a maths teacher whose nickname only can I remember, "Beaver", who taught mathematics in a fantastic way, by explaining concepts through ideas and meanings, rather than by rote or by rule, and because he used the lives of interesting mathematicians like Babbage and Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, to bring ideas like arithmatic or calculation to life; ( Mr Mannell (English), and Mr Gary Muldoon (science). Such teachers are the spirit of education: they don't labour one with rules, but draw on one's imagination, to form ideas. For the last six years, I've been a full-time philosopher, and I think my time at GIHS had some part to play in cultivating my interest in the mind and in the intellectual side of life. |

| Comments: | I can still remember my very first day at Glen Innes High School, and it's been almost 5 years since that day has happened. I only stayed there for a year until our family moved to Brisbane, where I now attend Wavell State High School. I also remember the Vocal Group I was in as well, where we performed for the Olympic Torch Relay, and I can never forget Concert Band. I still do singing, but outside of school, as I'm in the Queensland Youth Choir, unfortunately Wavell has no choir, but it did in Year 9 when I was in it, but that was it. I MISS THE COLD WEATHER!! |

| Comments: | Just scanning the net and came across the site. I left Glen High in 1968 as my parents were moving to Lismore.In retrospect, some of the best times of my life were spent there. Great to see you have your own site, I would love to see any old school photos in the site. It would allow some of us oldies to relive & laugh at old times |
