Elizabeth Everet was born in the Norfolk area of England (according to a Canadian Census I read, she was born in 1899, but her baptism seems to list her in the late 1790s, probably 1797). I don't know f this is really a Dreambook entry, but it seems (at 6.30 am) the only way to contact you? What an interesting site. I am researching the fate of a ship called the Elizabeth Jane that was 'lost' off the coast of Yorkshire and became the joists of our cottage at Robin Hood's Bay. She was built in Nova Scotia but on her last Voyage was based at Ipswich and owned by two Enos Pages: (Enos Page Older and Younger). On your site I found reference to a '...Sarah HODDY was born on 10 August 1781 in Naughton, Suffolk. She married Enos PAGE on 23 April 1829 in Ipswich, Suffolk. The address was: St. Clements Church...' One of my Pages is listed n the 1841 and 1851 census married to a Louisa living n the Parish of St. Mary Stoke. I wonder if you, having a better understanding of the process of using genealogical info and your site, can easily point me in the right direction for finding ,presumably, the 'other' Enos Page who might have married Sarah Hoddy in 1829. I think the age might be about right and there cannot have been too many Enos Pages in Ipswich? The Enos pages are first mentioned on the 'Timeline' page of my site in 1830 and there is a link to Page's census records for 1841 and 1851. Many thanks. Stephen Gavin |

| Comments: | What a wonderful site. I have been researching my late husband's family tree and found that it traces back through the Bennetts and Shovels to the Doneys in Linkinhorne and the farthest that I have traced it is to John Doney b 1645 and who married Mary Pope b 1651.

Surfing the web doing some HOLDSWORTH research and came across your page. Notice you have Joseph COLLYCOAT.. his NZ records do show him as COLLICOAT I have his marriage to Eliza FRY nee HOLDSWORTH as 21 August 1882 at the Registry Office in Auckland NZ. Joseph died 21 January 1928 & Eliza died 5 January 1924. Their son Joseph Thomas COLLICOAT married Florence Lucy REA. His birth was recorded as Joseph Thomas FRY and many years later in 1941 was stamped legitimised to COLLICOAT. Also the 2nd child was Jessie COLLICOAT b 22 April 1881 died 29 September 1969 m to William ATTENBOROUGH , 3rd child was Ethel May COLLICOAT b 7 September 1883, 4th child Violet COLLICOAT was married to Neil KYLE. Thanks so much for your site.... because of it i've found some family members I had never heard of before! My mother was Hazel Emlyn Mitchell. Her mother was Marie anne ( or Mary ann ) Thomas. Her mother was Emelyn Tellam born in Roche Cornwall 1857, died in Justice Manitoba Canada 1925. I would like to find out where my grandmother was born because there are discrepancies. The family thinks it was Britain, but the paperwork i've obtained says Ontario. Things just don't seem to fit. | Comments: | I have been interested to see your Doney family tree as James Branton, my 3X great grandfather on my mother's side who emigrated to Tyrone, Ontario, Canada from Cornwall in the 1850's, was the father of Sarah Selena (not spelled Selina as on your website) Branton (born 2nd quarter 1847, bap. July 11, 1847 in Morwenstow, Cornwall and died in Tyrone, Ontario on December 15, 1877), the second wife of John Samuel Doney. Doney's first wife having died in 1864 leaving him one son, Sarah Selena married him on March 1, 1865 and was the mother of eight (William Thomas to Florence Selena)of Doney's twelve children. The two of these eight children who died as infants, Rebecca and Evelina (gravestone spelling) Ann, are buried with their mother at the small Bethesda Cemetery at the 6th Concession Road and Bethesda Road in the open countryside near the village of Tyrone about six miles north of Bowmanville and forty-five miles east of Toronto, Ontario. Doney moved with his children by his three wives from Tyrone, Ontario (where, among other things, he had sold sewing machines)to Manitoba after the death of his third wife, Elizabeth Coffin. He and some of the children, by then grown, can be found in Manitoba in the 1901 Canadian census return and in the special 1906 Canadian census return for Canada's three prairie provinces. Although John Doney died in 1907, some of the children will also no doubt appear in the very-soon-to-be released Canadian 1911 census return. At the time of the 1906 census in July of that year, John Doney was living with his then still apparently unmarried son, Frank [Francis James],on a farm near Snowflake, Manitoba.
A sidenote: On the reverse of the gravestone at Bethesda Cemetery for Sarah Selena and her two infant daughters there is a memorial inscription to her father, James Branton, but the date of his death and his age at death are incorrectly inscribed there as April 10, 1898 at 85 years. It is unclear how this error could have been made, but he in fact died on May 26, 1894 at the age of 88 (almost 89) as reported in two local newspapers a few days later. The newspapers were clearly referring to Sarah Selena's father as there was no other James Branton in that area of even remotely similar age at that time. Some of this information may be of use to Doney family researchers if they do not already have it. Should you post it on your web site, please do not include my email address as my interest in Doney genealogy is pretty much limited to their relationship to the Brantons. I am also interested to see that you are located in Wokingham, Berks which I have visited several times and where my 2X great grandfather, James Slyfield, lived after moving there in the late 18th century from Chobham, Surrey, where he was born in 1775, and before moving to Finchamstead, Berks where he died and was buried in November 1845.
