i can't believe it's my last year to cheer with all of you.we have about eight days until our last competition,and i'm sure everyone is as excited and nervous as i am. we've worked extremely hard these last few practices, and we've gotten better every single days. don't think of the moments during practice where we were too tired or aggravated to perform the routine once more. you need to think of the times when the coaches were proud of us for hitting that stunt,straightening that line, or fixing that motion.we WANT to bring that title home this year, the first UCA national title for martin middle school...ever.we need to work hard these last few practices because we have a lot going on this week and next week.just work hard and i'm sure we'll definitely win.we have the routine to win, but we need to make it look sharp and clean.i love you girls very much and will definitely miss this squad as the other 8th graders and i go on to westview.we'll be cheering for all of you there too. :) love, yvannah mae collantes garcia "yvee" |

Time to seriously focus!! Get sharp!!!! You are a large squad with a lot of different unique individuals but when it comes to cheer you are ONE! I have been in the shadows and watched all the setbacks, trials and tribulations you have gone through (Ugh). Now is the time for you to push this all aside and pull together as a single unit! Each one of you can be all that you are suppose to be! I refuse to believe that you are NOT READY TO GIVE CHEER 212% (I know you know what that number means lol) YOU have not worked sooooo hard and soooo long to just let a competition slip through your fingers. I have been involved with MMS cheer in some way since 1989 and there is no doubt of YOUR skills and talent!! I would be extremely pleased to see YOU prove it to everyone – You have what it takes to be a MMS Cheerleader and a National Champion. Believe it or not, you have talented Coaches who want nothing for you but to succeed!! I personally want to see ALL of you get fired up because I do have all the Faith in the World in You. I want to see the fire in your eyes and the joy in your hearts when you compete (old UCA cheers – Let’s get Fired Up! & ACTION :) All I am asking of each one of you is to give it your all and that is ALL that anyone could ask. Always do your best at practice because you perform the way you practice. If you work at it consistently,you'll hit it consistently. We have what it takes to win nationals this year. We have the tumbling and stunts,but we need to add the spirit and sharpness. I know that is something we can do in a breeze. Just keep working and we'll impress the judges on December 6:)

I can not wait till Saturday. I know at times it seems impossible but ya'll are one of the strongest squads that has ever existed on this planet. Your talent amazes me. Work together as a team, and FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT for those stunts. When you walk off that floor Saturday and Sunday just know you have done your best and that is all any of us can ask for. 8th graders ya'll are the leaders this year....pump up your team before you go out on that floor and let them know you know they can do it! And when they walk off that floor let them know how awesome of a job you think they did. Houston and Pisgah are gonna bring it, you already know that but what THEY don't know is so are we. They got a taste of Martin Middle last year and I guarantee you that they are sweatin in their bloomers just like you are. Ya'll soooo have what it takes to win. Just go out there, AS A TEAM, and unite. Work together and show everyone that MARTIN MIDDLE is back again, and we have come for one thing and one thing only....WHITE JACKETS! Just think how awesome those white jackets will look over those new white uniforms....lol, I love you all and I wish you good luck Saturday and Sunday.
