Visits back home were only in the summer, so my children never got the opportunity to behold the beautiful floats, costumes, schuffling around for toys & candy. Cracker jacks were the best. The children are grown now, but I've told them all about Mardi Gras. Hopefully, in the near future, they'll get to experience the place where it all began. My sister in law and her friend came down from Minnesota and we showed them what Mardi Gras was all about and how to have a good no make that Great time. The band was awesome. Thanks Guys for showering us before the parade, on Royal & Govt Street and again at the end of the parade--especially since your fellow Mystic -ie my brother totally missed us on the parade route --as usual!! (love you anyway CJ) WE got nailed by Mardi Gra throws several times-it was fantastic. Thanks for the Superman, etc...my Teddy Bear and all the other great necklaces and all throws you showered on us-didn't even notice the rain. You were great to us, we thank you and love all of you ! Can't wait for next year! Go Mystics! |

| Comments: | WOW what a ball!! Our first time at a Mobile Mystics ball and what a time we had! The bars were open when we came in at 6:30 before the callouts and photographers already set up and taking photos too. Why doesn't every ball do that? Food was great and there were guys still carving roast beef at 11:15PM so we had plenty to eat. Loved the TopCats and the DJ in the main ballroom and they kept the dance floor packed all night! I moved to another state and really missed all the fun.In Texas they celebrate Las Amanya, their version of what I grew up knowing as MardiGras.Their is no comparrison when it comes to this celebration.Since coming home I have converted my Texan husband, and even he will tell you there is no comparison.Thank You Mobile, all of you do an outstanding job every year in our city.Great to be home and enjoying your parades every year.Love it. |
