i have only just found out that Ledgend 2008 will be in my hometown and would like to attend or atleast show the people that will be there the figures because if the reaction that Mr Praed gave is anything to go by, then these figures will be apreciated by all of you, including the series members that wil be there.
I have tried to book a ticket but no joy.
Please advise or otherwise
Cheers

I am with an amateur dramatics group who are going to be performing The Canterbury Tales in July, but we need loads of cosutmes and we don't have the budget to make all of them. We need 6 male costumes and 11 female - just basic tunics and dresses, really. I was wondering if anyone out there would be willing to lend us seom costumes for a couple of weeks, so that we can save a bit of money.
If you are willing, please contact me and we can have a chat about it.

Thanks,

I would like to thank all who were involved in the making of this magical series. I find myself watching it over and over again as I have bought the complete video and the DVD set. It was a magic time in my life when this series had just been released its a pity time has to move on,however noting is forgotton, noting is ever forgotton.

text:I am a huge fan of the 1980's RoS series, it was, and still is fantastic. It established a 'gold standard' in terms of quality entertainment. The cast of actors were superb one and all, the storylines were excellent, the music by Clannad really created a fabulous atmosphere. The latest effort by the BBC simply isn't in the same league, rather cheesey! I think it remains the supreme interpretation of the legend of Robin Hood. I have many fond memories of the series, as a mid-thirty something, it represents part of my teenage years. The actors, writers & crew are no doubt very proud of their involvement in this fantastic production. Favourite character? It's a straight fight between Mark Ryans' Nasir (The Steve McQueen of the 12th Century-taciturn & very cool!) and the superb Ray Winstone as Will Scarlett. Few people can generate the raw aggression that Ray brought to the part. I always think of Scarlet as representing the fighting spirit reknown in the British soldier-he never gives up! Would like to make it to the 2007 convention as I have never been to one yet.I would be grateful to hear from anyone who has attended such a convention as to what I have been missing all these years!! Cheers, Pete

text:Hi there people,

I just have recovered the old Robin Hood serial. I now have spent many hours on watching the hooded man. I have finished the two first series completely. Now Michael Praed died as Robin and Jason Connery is going to follow. That's the sadest moment.

It is great to watch my favorit sequel from my youth again. I had been watching Robin of Sherwood as a little kid some 15 years ago. Now I am grown from a kid, through the stage of Much, above Robin into a huge man like Little John by myself. I am proud to come so far, but I need to admit as far as my world has changed, the world beyond me didn't. I am 30 years old now and am sad enough to remind that there are many Sheriffs and they have got a lot of hounds with them. There are not many Robins though - Subcomendante Insurgente Marcos might be one of them in Mexico / Chiapas nowadays...

Anyway it is a pleasure to watch the hooded man again. I whish I could do it with some of my children in some 15 years from now. Than I will consider myself to be more like the Sheriff himself and Robin will be one of my neighbours young sons, a student of law or politics perhaps. Let's see.

I greet those people who use to love the hooded man and I whish I were among you...

When the political circumstances in my part of germany (the east) changed I was 15 and still had the series in my mind. For me it will always be the one and only "true" story of Robin Hood. The series was shown on TV again and I was able to record it on VHS. I was excited like a kid on Xmas and watched the tapes again and again. Now I´ve got the DVD´s and still can´t get enough of them. Why not organizing the next con in some privat garden???
