I'm a licensed K-12 art teacher, who's also teaching pre-voc lately but have no curriculum or any real standards to follow...I have basically been flying by the seat of my pants the two days a week I've been teaching (our clients have been out of work -and they have class then or when it's too hot out on the work floor). | Comments: | Hi Everyone!!!!!! Thank you so much for posting the Halloween carols. I had saved a copy of the same carols that I sung 40 years ago at Halloween parties in college. You've saved me lots of time retyping them. I will copy them off to go in over 300 boxes for our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. Thank you and keep studying hard and have fun. Keep learning about everything in sight. Ask lots of questions. Learn to ask lots of questions and don't let anyone tell you you can't learn or are too young to learn. I know I raised a daughter who asked thousands of questions and is always "wondering if" and is a mechanical engineer for Boeing and does some work for the new 787 Dreamliner. She's also a journeyman mechanic for the Air National Guard for the F-15 engines. She's also started serious quilting at age 5; yes she still quilts, has soloed in a glider through help of Civil Air Patrol and sung in choirs for several years. All this and much more on a shoestring budget. Hey just a brainstorm of something fun Rebecca and I did when she was about your age. Take some marigold flower petals, roll them up and use them like paint on white paper. Try other flowers and leaves (especially strawberry) and see what happens. Again thanks for the carols. | Comments: | Hi! I just discovered your site! Wow, there is so much helpful information here! I am an art teacher, but have been assigned to teach an afternoon kindergarten class next school year. There are so many great ideas here. I really love your Book Treasure Box idea. My son is in Kindergarten next year and he brings these books home every week...we never have really had a place to put them. I wish we could have kept them all together, but it's an afterthought and I only have about 15 in our collection...and so I love this idea of sending home the special box at the beginning of the year and explaining it...and I love how you have a page that lists every book you've done with the kids and the link to all the websites where parents can print more mini books.
